Bellend Sebastian Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Never stayed for the club night, but been to loads of top gigs there over the years. The only one I didn't enjoy was Kasabian. Whoops
grth2004 Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 ive been going there since 1995 and have some great memorys and seen some amazing bands , im actualy having my stag do there this year
Jay Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 The best 2 gigs I have ever witnessed were at Rock City they were absolute monsters and were Rage Against The Machine supported by TOOL and WOOL Smashing Pumpkins supported by The Verve They were just unbelievable gigs especially when you think of the quality of the bands

What year was SP? I had the displeasure of being at the Nottingham 'gig' in '07.

andy_croydz Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Rock City in Nottingham? Good venue, saw Alter Bridge and Logan there in November last year, there was a power cut near the end of AB's performance and they had to tell the fans to be quiet while they did acoustic, but as they were about to do a song in acoustic in the dark the power came back and everyone cheered was a great night.
Shrenchel Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Went to UK Takeover a few years back. Thought the venue was bang on. Prolly the best hip-hop night I've been to in this country.
hairy Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Seen many bands there but never really rated it as a venue
Guest Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Been to quite a few gigs there over the years, the most bizarre of which was Damien Rice. Talk about a venue that just didn't really suit the act. It was a good gig despite that though
Joe. Posted 22 June 2009 Posted 22 June 2009 Never been before, but I should hit it a few times when I turn 18 soon. Trouble is finding the right people to go to these decent gigs with for me...
Monk Posted 23 June 2009 Posted 23 June 2009 I've seen some great bands down the years at this sweaty shit hole of a venue. Ones that spring to mind: Green Day, Linkin Park, Feeder, Less than Jake, Hell is for Heroes, Hundred Reasons, Hoobastank, Reef and a tonne of other bands that I don't listen to anymore. Was great at the time though.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 June 2009 Posted 23 June 2009 I have seen there...Morrissey, The Beta Band, Badly Drawn Boy, Doves, The Flaming Lips, Kasabian, Super Furry Animals, British Sea Power, and probably others that I don't remember. Needless to say, some of those turns have avoided Leicester for many years

Trouble is finding the right people to go to these decent gigs with for me... I used to have that problem at your age as well. I just had better taste than any of my mates. Used to drag my ex girlfriends sister along to gigs with me (and try and bang her). Still is a problem really, which i've gotten around by not going to any gigs anymore.
