Jordan Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 An interesting piece today in Murdoch's Brit rag:http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...hout-Becks.html What does this tell us? It tells us that the knives out for DB. Flattering and fawning though the piece is to Beckham it's telling him to do exactly the same thing (in ever so polite language) that AEG's hired stooges have been telling him: get the fcuk out of the US. The patchwork quilt of financial alliances that brought Beckham to the MLS are using the considerable means at their disposal to break Beckhams resolve to soldier on. Any lingering hopes for the Beckham experiment went down the tubes with the credit crunch (though my hunch is that we would have come to the same pass regardless of sub prime - there is simply no room at present for another mass spectator/viewing code in The States. Well that's what MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL really think anyway). What we are seeing now is a propaganda war that's using two interesting psychological techniques. There's the nasty routine (your a greedy treacherous cnut and your wife's a fcuking whore) and the nice routine (come back home David you're too good for the poxy MLS). The key thing to remember in all of this is that none of this is spontaneous or genuine comment. It is all orchestrated and there is an ulterior motive - to allow AEG et al to cut their losses. My advice to Becks is to take AEG'S hint now and move on - there's nothing to be gained in hanging around to find out just how sinister the routine might get
Fox92 Posted 29 July 2009 Posted 29 July 2009 Beckham's a joke. Imagine if every footballer reacted when someone gave em some grief when they taking a throw-in! If this guy is at the World Cup I will cry. Yes, he is good at dead-ball situations, and yes he crosses a good ball once in a while but no frickin thanks. This guy is as far from representing the average English youth as you can get. Model some more pants Dave, it's what you're best at nowadays Beckham cannot head a ball, cannot kick it with his left foot, he cannot tackle and doesn't score enough goals. Other than that, he's alright. - George Best.

Radovan's Caravan Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 : Some basketball stars trys to bait Beckham into appearing on his show and that's psychological warfare. How would you respond to an invitation like this: 'Dear david beckham, dnt make me tweet to 2 million people that yur scared of shaq, u betta respnd, if u scared, get a dog.' No person in full possession of their faculties would dignify such a request with a response. More importantly, no commercial proposition (for that is what the 'invitation' purports to be) would be put to a public figure in such a public and insulting way. It is a move clearly designed to humiliate Beckham. Worth remembering that O'Neill once worked for AEG (they own the Lakers) and that DB is employed by them. And even if we were to overlook all that there is the sensitive matter of timing. Given events over the last fortnight it is extremely difficult to view this incident in isolation. Only the ignorant, the great unwashed and the crushingly naive would take the invitation above at face value. If you scroll up the thread you might ccome across a post of mine which predicted that the campaign against Beckham might take a sinister turn. And roping in personalties to turn up the heat on DB is the first tentative step in that direction. Things might get a lot worse for Beckham (and his family) if he doesn't take the hint. There are bad men out there in 'Corporate Land' Webbo who are very good at making things appear accidental, unrelated, or even better still - your own stupid fault
lildave3 Posted 31 July 2009 Posted 31 July 2009 I like how that article implies that Kobe and LA would fall out with Beckham if he went on the show, even though Kobe and Shaq are friends anyway

Jordan Posted 1 August 2009 Posted 1 August 2009 AEG own 30% of the Lakers and their venue, The Staples Center, outright. And Anschutz own Buss... Just curious: Have you ever read Shaq's twitter page? If you think that is part of some diablolical AEG anti-Beckham plot, you're batshit crazy.

Should be interesting.

Anyone who has five minutes to waste can see that I have got the better of you on this thread which is why you are reduced to slurs. The fact that DMGT and News Corp are running every anti Beckham story going is just a mere coincidence is it? Only a complete dolt in denial would refuse to accept that Anschitz are feeding them this muck. As well as maybe the mob bosses invested in AEG (one reason why the UK government were twitchy about allowing them to run casino's in the UK).

Becks was on SportsCenter on Friday night; care to explain how AEG maneuvered that to their advantage? Shaq ripped apart math_daddy8 on Twitter; did AEG pay him to do that? Slurs? Sure. Hard to have a constructive conversation with fellow typing the cracked-out theories. I'm not concerned about getting the "better" of you, I just care about calling you out for being a nutcase. Or maybe AEG has got me, too! BECKHAM BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD! Your schtick is tired; as long as you keep peddling it, I'll be sure to make fun of you.
Anish Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Jordan, don't bother responding to the tosser formerly known as Chandler. The guy is a wind-up and everyone on here falls for it every time. Leave him to his stupid conspiracies and let him look like the fool he is.

Your schtick is tired; as long as you keep peddling it, I'll be sure to make fun of you. Care to write in English my friend rather than that dumb patois that you seem to revel in? As well as having problems with your first language you display an almost autistic dullness in reading corporate behaviour. Has it ever occurred to you how most corporations (particularly British and American ones) get big and stay that way? Answer: by operating outside the law and duping the great unwashed (people like you) that they play by the rules. AEG is a mob company operating in a sector dominated by the mob (as I mentioned previously the UK government scrapped proposed legislation to allow them in to operate casinos). What they are currently doing to Beckham is nothing more than a low level psychological operation straight out of the beginners guide to dirty tricks. Now to answer your rash, ill considered objections to my thesis that AEG et al are almost certainly engaged* in a propaganda war to drive Beckham out of the Galaxy. I take it that 'Sports Center' is a network TV 'PR window'? By framing your question in the simplistic unqualified way that you did you appear to be unaware of the vast spin machine (and its connections) that Beckham has at his personal disposal (only Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods & Michael Schumacher in the world of sport might have operations as slick). But that is by the bye... Your 'Sports Center' objection is one to be expected from someone who is unsophisticated and completely ignorant of what a psychological operation is. In this case, allowing Beckham to up the ante simply reminds everyone of the hole that he is in (ie 'true' Galaxy fans want him to quit). An interesting parallel to this was the poison email scandal in the UK a couple of months ago. The damage to the British Prime Minister himself (whose associates were responsible for them) was temporary. But how many people, I wonder, have forgotten that the leader of the opposition has an 'embarrassing illness?' Your Shaq objection is even more thoughtless. Assuming that he did write what has been alleged (it's even worse if this whole thing has been fabricated) then it is what is what was said first and who reported it that matters. Beckham was holed below the water line on this by DMGT's and News Corp's coverage not by O'Neill himself (and according to my googling at least, neither have carried Shaq's subsequent screed). It's because of the former that mass opinion might conclude that Beckham is either chicken and/or that his peers are hostile. Either way the message is the same - get out. Your problem my friend is not just that you are pig ignorant, it is the fact that you have a bad dose of the 'ims' - you are imperceptive and impulsive. Try thinking a little before you post in future and then... a lot more. But you won't do that because you dread the possibility that after half a minute's quiet contemplation you might realise there may be something in what I say. *There is a slim chance that (a) recent events might be driven by others (Beckhams recent US sponsors) or that (b) AEG have an entirely different agenda in stoking up anti Beckham sentiment. An even slimmer chance too that all of this is spontaneous and coincidental. But that scenario is as improbable as Erik Von Daniken being right.
