We've only gone for Cox and we weren't beaten to his signature, we were outbid. As far as we know Phillips was not ever a target. Lita is a money-grabber, so do we even want him? Any legitimate targets are prrobably being kept secret and we won't know anything about them until they are signed or until Bert stops talking about his dinner and gives people some info.

It's hardly a striker crisis. Worst case situation, we bring Kee back and get some younglings on loan.

Yes because in his last 60 appearences in the Championship he's scored 22 goals.

In Fryatts last 62 appearences for us in the Championship he's scored 5 goals, fooking shit.

Freddy Eastwood who can't score got 4 goals in 46 Championship appearences for Cov last season, rather embarassingly for Fryatt, 4 goals in 46 from Eastwood beats Fryatts recent record.

Fryatt better score a lot of goals next season to improve his dismal Championship record. I doubt theres a striker in the Championship with a worser record than Fryatts. If Eastwoods is better then whos is worse :giggle:

I agree about Lita being a money grabber. If he doesnt go to United that will really show what a mercenary he is, because lets be honest he wont get a bigger club.

I think Phillips was paper talk and doubt we will see him at City any point soon.

People go on constantly about Fryatt's crap record in the division, but this is based on when the whole team was shit, and the manager was shit. The numbers arn't the whole story.

I wouldn't say he has a crap record. He has never had much of a chance due to injury. This season will tell us what he is about then we should judge.

Hes right, When rob kelly was in charge and bought him to the club, he was on hot form.

Well, atleast i think he was? "/

Fryatt's meant to be injured at the moment, so we may not get to judge him properly this season as well.

Yeah, Hes got an infected leg if i remember rightly?

According to sky, hes out for the start of the season.

He was. him and Hume ripped up defences to stay up that year. Hume got more credit for scoring more which I thought was unfair due to the amount of times Fryatt played him in.

So what's the crisis? Yeah, if Howard breaks his shin, Fryatt remains infected and Dickov gets a hip replacement, it would appear bad. But Pearson has acknowleged he needs more strikers, so what do people expect? There's a week before the Swansea game, and a month before the window shuts, that's more than enough time to sign someone. Credit to Pearson for not being scared into over-spending, or resorting to panic buys on assholes or has-beens.

Strikers will be signed.

True, But un-true. They have bad goal scoring records with Leicester when we wasnt doing so well.

But when they have a good team around them, they have a good scoreing record,

When we first signed Fryatt he had a good team around him and was in hot form.

And with howard, Even tho i dont like saying this, He has a good scoring record with derby when they had a good side, Wasnt he like top goal scorer that season? :appl:

Howard was actually the ultimate target man at Derby.

You keep going on about this, but to be fair you've got to compare Lita to all our strikers.

Howard's record in this division is very good, even with us for that short time (6 in 18 or something like that).

I've just looked it up,

And yes, Howard was their top goal scorer with 18 goals and 6 assists, and his 5 seasons before that his lowest goal scoring tally was 14, Going up to 24.

If he has a good team around him, I think he'll do good next season :fc:

I think it is very poor to have to wait to this stage, with the seasons start a mere week away, not to have got the striker situation sorted out by now.

We have had plenty of time to think about who may be suitable. It does look that our club is not exactly appearing very ambitious, to many of it's supporters.

I wonder how it is though, that so many people say we have no money to spend? If it is true, then perhaps we will be better off if M.M. quits the club at the end of the season.

The likeliness of our even challenging for a top six finish, appears to me, to be extremely remote, unless we invest in a quality striker a.s.a.p.

We are trying to get a striker, but anyone decent is being chased by other clubs too.

Quits the club? Do you have a buyer lined up then?

You are like a very bad, very broken record.

Lets just leave NP to get on with it. He clearly know's what he 's doing. I'd like to see Lita here and if he came i'm sure he'd knuckle down and prove his worth. Phillips is past it he's only going to become a liability and cash leech. Much the way Dickov has declined.

just read about birminghams win against dagenham and at the end of it mcleish says no one has approached him about phillips but we still cant rule him out

If Leicester were interested they would've made an approach by now.
