Mercury's new City writer starts this week ...

Really pleased to let everyone know that after 30+ years of Bill Anderson our new football writer starts this week ... may even cover tonight's game for us.

And our new writer is ... Fez :D

That's right, the FoxesTalk's playmaker and fans favourite has been signed on loan by the Mercury and is hoping to make his debut in the first team tonight. There were a few last minute scares in the negotiations as we struggled to match the salary paid by FoxesTalk (Do you all get paid that much to write?) ;) , but the deal was finally signed last night.

Mercury boss Keith Perch said: 'I'm over the moon for the lad. We'll be giving him a free role to do what he wants ... although I might draw the line at him calling us the Mockery in paper!'

By the way, our other writer also starts this week: Rob Tanner, although he may have to sit on the bench this Saturday.

Congrats to Fez, his match reviews are better than anything currently seen in the Mercury. Best of luck mate!

Congratulations on the Fez signing you've got a great talent there.

Finally a breakthrough for him, well chuffed.

He has a talent for words and combined with his insightful understanding of football I'm expecting some great articles.

Well done mate.

Thanks everyone, means a lot (both to be able to do it and the kind words on here which may have helped!!)

Fingers crossed it goes well initially and hopefully they'll keep me on for the whole season.

PS - it's not a full time job Lib. lol Just a few words about each match from a fans perspective I believe.

Will you be allowed to write the truth or will you go the Blanderson "club line" way?

Either way congrats mate

I was going to say, I thought they'd already announced Blanderson's replacement. lol Still great though.

Hi Fez - it's not a full-time job, but I hope it's a lot more than just a few words! We will give you the space you need. :D

You'll have to watch the game now and stop baiting the away fans with all those cut-throat gestures :P

Dave Raves

Bev Sez

Bevan's Eleven

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh

If it's a few words then he can be Bevan's Bits, if he takes the angry persona he can be Beven Barks/Bites.

I still prefer Fez Sezs / Sez Fez it has an air of mystery and the exotic about it. :P

Just make sure you don't make those mockery errors like Martinez is manager of West Brom and we are after Darren Beckford :crylaugh:

Those were (clueless) fan's opinions, the Mercury just didn't check them before they chucked them in.
