Also did McCauley get cheered at the start? And how did Howard fair against him?

Not sure about McCauley's reception, but he blocked off big Steve and got booked. Howard then decided to elbow him twice in the face during the game. Quite funny really.

Good result I think. :D

Shame we couldnt of took any of our chances but if some had said to me that we would have 4 points out of the two games we have started with then I would of snapped their hand off.

We have started well against two good Championship sides and kept a clean sheet away from home at one of the grounds we arent usually good at.

Hopefully we can go up to Sheffield on Tuesday and play some good stuff and come away with a good result.

We definitely had the better of the first half, and we should have capitalised on that. Keane made two chances at the start of the second, and whether it was that, the heat, or what, we seemed to be slower to the ball at times. I have to say, I wasn't impressed with the time wasting. I have slagged off other teams for doing it, and I will slag off my own too. You just know with City, we would concede in the 6th minute of added time because of it! We didn't need to, and we still had the better chances, which were few and far between.

Before the game, I would have taken the point, but at the moment ruing us missing out on all three. I must also say that I was gobsmacked by the lack of appreciation the home fans showed to their team at the end of the game. They couldn't sell out in their first home game of a season where expectations are very high, had an attendance on a par with ours last season, but think that they are so much bigger than us that earning a hard fought draw is not good enough for them. I did not see one single Ipswich fan applauding their team off of the pitch. As much as it disgusted me, I also found it hilariously funny, and I just wish City could have nicked a winner in the last minute just to really piss them off.

Lisa you are spot on! As said earlier sat in their end with a couple of Ipshit work mates who support them! They all booed their team at the end and really turned on thier team and Keane. The reason for this is they are above themselves they all thought they would trounce us before the game started I was sitting thier with a smug grin on my face! It would have been either smugger if Browny had scored with that header in the 1st half!!!

Thoroughly disappointed.

Apart from the first 20 minutes we showed a complete lack of ambition and if we miss promotion by a point or two this indifferent performance will represent one of the reasons.

For the opening spell City confirmed what I suspected, that Ipswich were a shadow of their once illustrious selves, an ordinary, uninspiring side who were there to be beaten.

We were quick to win possession, passed the ball well and it was rare indeed for Ipswich to make an appearance down the end where the Leicester fans were gathered.

Apart from one good chance for Fryatt though we failed to deliver the right final ball and we weren't sharp enough or clever enough to dismantle what looked like a fairly ordinary defence.

Gradually play evened up and it was not long into the second half that Pearson signalled that he was settling for a point by bringing King on in what seemed a purely defensive role and shoving the generally impressive Oakley out to the wing where he was, predicatbly, far less consequential.

Apart from the decision seeming like something of a vote of no confidence in the sidelined Gradel, if Pearson had announced that he wasn't prepared to chase victory for 90 minutes I could have saved the money and the bother of travelling.

Gone, even to some extent during the first 20 minutes and certainly for the rest of the game was all the fast ground passing and movement of the Macclesfield game and second half of the Macclesfield game.

The first evidence came when I saw Brown blasting debutant right back Robbie Neilson for driving forward to make opportunity for a pass.

In fact Neilson never looked like providing much attacking support because, hands on hips, he looked knackered after the first quarter. On today's evidence he looked the third best right-back I'd seen in a City shirt this season, behind Morrison and Luke O'Neill and I never understand why we ever play footballers who are not fully fit.

It was a day when right wingerN'Guessan needed support, got very little and instead of looking a potential star looked very ordinary. He never attacked his opponent at pace, reverted back to committing the cardinal professional sin of trying to beat people in the back two thirds of the field where the risk is high and the potential effect limited.

Fryatt looked sharper but only for so long and Howard had a game where he did little more than win the odd flick in the air and next to nothing on the ground.

The eventual introduction of Waghorn and Adams promised some improvement but there wasd never the movement around them and never the support in numbers that migh recapture City's initial ascendancy.

Man of the match? No-one really deserved such an accolade although another clean sheet, the second in three games, and a solid one at that, deserved some praise. Centre-backs Hobbs and Brown communicated well and looked passionate, committed and organised with Hobbs edging my choice of best man on the day.

Berner made a decent contribution too defensively and Oakley was quite commanding in central midfield for the first hour.

Otherwise I cannot remember us testing the home goalkeeper or even having many shots at all. Fortunately Ipswich were not much better although Weale did make one eyecatching diving catch to his right and alert enough to foil another couple of efforts.

Altogether though it was a game to forget and one I wished I'd not bothered watching. A day when we spent the second half back in the wretched world of the aimless hoof.

Lise's point about the time wasting was spot on. We had players booked unnecessary - Waghorn for ignoring the whistle and putting the ball in the net and Weale for his delaying tactics after an earlier warning.

We shouldn't do it. Time wasting cost us relegation a few seasons back (against Chrlton) and as DavieG mentioned on the way home today, it only gives a message of encouragement to the opposition by saying "we're no longer interested, you do what you will".

Those mentioned weren't the only bookings and, with City having been so disciplined last season, I only hope Pearson soon gets the message over that he wants more of the same.

This is interesting. I watched on the internet coverage and I thought we settled for a draw when we substituted Fryatt and N'Gessan for Waghorn and King. The important point was how deep King defended. I thought we missed our chances in the first 30 minutes and that was the difference.

I hate them, I hate the place, and I hate that ground. I hate their fans even more. When we beat them in the League Cup, with a slightly weakened team, this one woman was going absolutely mental outside the ground. The fact that we were in the Premiership and they weren't was completely lost on her, as was the fact that we won without having to put too much effort into the game. Since that night I have seen so much attitude that our neighbours up the road can probably sympathise with, whenever I've been to Portman Rd. The fact that they were a provincial, small time club playing above itself is lost on them as they still live in the shadow of past glories. It is really quite sad.

Not the worst result by any stretch. Ipswich are notoriously good at home, and we probably just edged it by the looks of things. Not impressed that we took off N'Guessan, but I'm not sure it would have made any difference keeping him on anyway.

Not missed a great deal by not going anyway.

N'Guessan was a lazy mofo today.

A point was a fair result, we had the best of the first half and they had the best of the second half. Oakley was fantastic today, he was here there and everywhere, the back four were all fantastic too, Bruno Berner was probably the standout, which is a bit harsh on Hobbs, as he had a very good game too.

Happy with a point, it's a clean sheet and something to build on.

Lisa, this is so refreshing someone who shares the same opinions as me re Ipswich. ( Or Ipshit as I prefer). They, haven't got over themselves since the glory days of Bobby Robson RIP. They are too a smalltime club who's only ambition is to slag Narrwich there closest rivals.

The problem they now have is Roy Keane. As he is their manager they genuinely believe they are going up this season. Even my work mates are deluded. I had the last laugth. Before the game they bet 2-0 and 3-0 respectively. I forecast a draw albeit a scoring one. Because, it was only the second game of the season and to be honest Ipshit is a bogey ground for us I'll accept the draw but I too agree re the time wasting.

That said, this is another unfortunate part of all teams away from home game tatics. Has happened as you know at City loads of times.

Another reason they only had 22,000 is because of their over inflated tickert prices. Let's be honest £31 to watch that shower of shite week in week out would be suicidal!!!

I dunno if this has been mentioned

But I was baffled, BAFFLED by their support.. I heard three chants from them all game

As for the game, I enjoyed it, dunno about anyone else... but a point was the least we deserved. We just dont seem to be clinical in front of goal, it's weird.

Had an enjoyable day despite the A14 fiasco.

Stood for 90 minutes, started a rousing rendition of £31 and we'll all stand up.

The game itself probably didn't live up to expectations.

N'Guessan was lazy at times and looked out of sorts.

Howard was bollocksed, everyone could see that.

Overall, a decent point, either side could have snatched the winner really.

Pleasure meeting Lisa and Sir Fynwy too :D

Decent Result, would have taken a point before the game, but we dominated first half and really should have capitalised. Taking Fryatt and N'guessan killed the majority of our attacks. Waggy seemed up for it, but didnt have the same impact on the game as last week. n'guessan didn't look fit, very static at times. Our passing across the field was sloppy. MOTM goes to Berner rock solid and got in when he needed to, a class act and saved us at the end. Anyone else get stuck on the A14 by any chance? Coach 2 and the girl taking her trousers off anybody?

And the girl helping out with the "last goal" was Hot.

You too, chuck! Although having Sir Fynwy pointed out doesn't really count as meeting him!! lol

Granno, were you wearing the away shirt?

And did you have Nussul with you?

Yeah I have to apologise about that. He can talk the hind legs off a donkey, I get it ever week. I'm just glad I'm not like that.
