acooling08 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 We needed to take our chances early on, but Ipswich were the better in the 2nd half.
samlcfc Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 good result, many people have said they would have took a draw annoying maybe as we had some good chances to get a goal but wouldnt have expected 3 points anyway
leftsideoverhere Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 In the end, disappointed we didn't nick it, but it would have been nicking it - probably nil each was a fair result. Hope the silly bookings don't come back to haunt us later in the season.
StanSP Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Started like last season. Win first game. Win in cup Draw away. Keeping clean sheets though which is good . Happy with the point.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 1st Half we played much better and could of won.
Bryn Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Unambitious second half really, but we'll take the point. Defence and keeper looked solid. Think we settled for the point when we brought on King, lost all our attacking momentum when we only had one winger. Having one wide attacker will never win us games in this league. Still, solid point, unbeaten, scored twice as many as we've conceded, happy enough.
Joe. Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Not the worst result by any stretch. Ipswich are notoriously good at home, and we probably just edged it by the looks of things. Not impressed that we took off N'Guessan, but I'm not sure it would have made any difference keeping him on anyway. Not missed a great deal by not going anyway.
Shane Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 0-0 was fair result to be honest. I think our defence was too strong for them, watched it on live stream. Hobbs & Brown played good at the back tbh.
Webbo Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Could have won . Perhaps we should have won it, but a point away from home is not bad.
Flynny Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 I thought, credit where it's due, that Ipswich had a great second half and we did well not to concede.
coale39 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Quite evenly matched. Fun game to watch. Good away point.
melbourne_foxes Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 happy with our solid defence, thought the boys up front could have created more chances but overall happy with the teams performance, bring on the blades!
lildave3 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Reasonably happy with that. Definitely take a point away at Ipswich, although they didn't look that good.
lavrentis Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Although we rarely threatened their goal much we looked solid enough.
potter3 Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Satisfied with a point but not with the time wasting employed when it's 0-0 <_<
maddog Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Everyone would have taken a point prior to the match. Not to say we went in with a negative attitude going for a point, we tried out best looking at the stream. Excellent defensive work, i would say Berner played the best once again, who the fook is Joe Mattock 4 points from 2 games, im guessing we will still be in the top six. We are well capable of going to Sheffield and winning though i think, perhaps try starting Waghorn and Adams instead of the bench. Hopefully the Tunch will be back in action. Worst case scenario we will have 4 points from 3 games Tuesday night, which isn't that bad considering our first 3 fixtures. Dare i start the Sheffield United poll now Think i will wait till late tonight
Tilley Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Great point in my opinion, would take the same Tuesday night at Sheffield then a win against Barnsley. Solid start to the season, still think we need to sign another striker.
Shane Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Yeah Ipswich were good second half, but our defence was too strong
MPH Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 " Promoted leicester are a fine team, Fryatt and Howard will definately score goals" Final score commentator on BBC
MC Prussian Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Wellens didn't really play the way he usually does. Lots of bad passes. Howard should keep an eye on his elbow. Silly yellow against Waghorn, going offside, then proceeding to kick the ball past Wright into the goal. Solid defensive display, but we need some more creativity between midfield and attack. But maybe the heat at Portman Road took its toll on the game.
