Samilktray Posted 23 August 2009 Author Posted 23 August 2009 I struggled to get that Emulator thing working.
Bryn Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Did you get there? All I had to do was unzip the Visual Boy, download the rom and then use the VBA to open the rom. The ingame saving doesn't usually work, use the programs save states.
Mikey Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Pokemon. My favourite was Blastoise or Rhydon. Still got my cards somewhere, the original 150 completed. Might whip out my GameboyPocket, and play it now. The TV Show was good n'all, not as good as the games or cards. The theme tune was class as well. It got ruined when the new Pokemon started coming in though.
FilboFox Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Pokemon was, and is, amazing! I agree with Mikey though, when the new "Pokemon" started coming in, it all went downhill...
Samilktray Posted 23 August 2009 Author Posted 23 August 2009 I remember getting a shiney Charizard in my first ever £2.50 booster pack from the paper shop. Loved spending £2.50 every week on a booster pack or 2, then getting a starter deck from Toys'r'us.

Lucky bast**d. <_< I remember I swapped 40 cards for my Charizard, even though its all scratched up. Loved getting the booster packs as well.
Samilktray Posted 23 August 2009 Author Posted 23 August 2009 The thrill of shuffling through those 11 cards when you opened a booster pack, only to find about 6 energy cards.
Asha Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 The thrill of shuffling through those 11 cards when you opened a booster pack, only to find about 6 energy cards. Yeah I bought a booster pack in France once. Got a shiny called 'pharamp obscur' which was Ampharos, and it's best move was 'choc éclair'
Libertine Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 The thrill of shuffling through those 11 cards when you opened a booster pack, only to find about 6 energy cards. My first pack I got Hitmonlee shiney. Was epic. I swapped it about 10 minutes later for a Dark Charizard. Love the started decks. Did anyone actually play the card game?! I'm stuck on the Elite Four on Diamond. Haven't been on it in ages, can't be bothered to do too much levelling up. Yellow was where it was at, I had both Gold and Silver too. xD

dandannieldanok Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 What a game, the trainer battles at the end were epic. Pidgey > Pidgeotto > Pidgeot - Best trio on the game. EDIT: They ruined the game with all the crap new pokemon, should have just left it at the original 150.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Anyone saying any outside the original 150 need not have entered this thread. SCYTHER
Bryn Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Didn't think the second 100 were that bad. Lugia and that.
Trumpet Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Sure you can get it on ya phone too. I could never get it to save / load on my phone
Trumpet Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Anyone saying any outside the original 150 need not have entered this thread.SCYTHER Scyther was the best, by far. I used to love seeing him slide across the screen of my gameboy in that safari place. Quite a catch
AmericanScott Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'm going to download this ROM stuff later and player Red/blue version. The rare candy cheat was the best thing ever I'm quite ashamed to say that i've not only completed Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Gold in English, but in Japanese too! Funny thing is, i don't understand Japanese. :\ I'M STILL IN LOVE WITH POKEMON!!!!
samlcfc Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 apparently born with boxing gloves used to think this was awesome when i was younger, rediculous in hindsight haha
Libertine Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Whoever created it must be MINTED. Satoshi Tajiri.
samlcfc Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 apparently came up with idea for gameboy aswell so imagine he is a little well off
Flynny Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Silver and Gold were the best two games, replay value was immense, you could just roll on and on and on. R/B/Y were great but got repetitive more quickly and all the ones after Silver have too many ideas and far too many pokemon.
Asha Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 apparently came up with idea for gameboy aswell so imagine he is a little well off He's only in his 40's as well.
the_bowman Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 I'm gonna give this a try, I loved the pokemon games and playing online should be very interesting!
