stevie909 Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Anyone saying any outside the original 150 need not have entered this thread.SCYTHER My thoughts exactly, all about the originals. My first good card was a shiny electrode in my first booster, but since my second it has always been about the mother of all pokemon: ARTICUNO. Got this fella fully levelled up and just used to decimate all my friends with him on silver. God i used to love this game, so fun to reminisce!
samlcfc Posted 23 August 2009 Posted 23 August 2009 Lucky bast**d. <_< I remember I swapped 40 cards for my Charizard, even though its all scratched up. Loved getting the booster packs as well. I swapped a load before for a japanese ho-oh in the old school days when there was only 150. Got it off some kid that moved over here from Japan. Was well chuffed for a while till i realised i could understand nothing on it.
ACF Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 The TV show went downhill when they changed from Ash, Brock, and Misty. Can you tell I'm young?
Bryn Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 Silver and Gold were the best two games, replay value was immense, you could just roll on and on and on. R/B/Y were great but got repetitive more quickly and all the ones after Silver have too many ideas and far too many pokemon. This! Will you be tempted by the (admittedly lamely named) Heart Gold and Soul Silver for DS?
AmericanScott Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 This! Will you be tempted by the (admittedly lamely named) Heart Gold and Soul Silver for DS? Heart Gold? They could've been more down with the youth and called it Ghetto Gold.
Flynny Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 This! Will you be tempted by the (admittedly lamely named) Heart Gold and Soul Silver for DS? Yep, got a text off a mate when it was announced. A few of us used to "mystery gift" every day for a whole summer.
CosbehFox Posted 24 August 2009 Posted 24 August 2009 I was nicknamed 'Snorlax' Brother nicknamed 'Cubone' - His nickname still comes off that. It went Cubone to Boney to Chemo (said in Aussie accent) to Been and eventually to Beeny. Still gets called Beeny playing U18s football.
hbkkids Posted 15 April 2012 Posted 15 April 2012 Charizard, had the ultra rare ex card which i bought for £30.00 and sold for £82.00 a few years back.

glenny_fox Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Pokemon .. use to love the games, not so much the program, use to annoy me that he would help every pokemon rather than catching the ****ers! wish they would make a game for ps3/xbox, that has the same format as the gameboy games..
Wymsey Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 I remember most of my classmates playing the Pokeman card game in year six, and when our class head teacher came in, the classroom went silent (whilst we were supposed to be doing 'prep') and she confiscated them all and chucked them in the bin.
Foxhateram Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 Was one of the first in the country to complete blue entirely including legitimately catching mewtwo and everything. I sent off for an award and received a certificaTe. Still got it somewhere. Used to whip my mates playing with that purple cable d-link I think it was called. Found my cards yesterday unreal hw many I have. My favourite is a shiny blastoise. Oh those were the days. We used to play cookers with poke cards as the stakes. Wish I could turn back the clock.
lavrentis Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 I've been to the Pokemon center in Japan and people still go mad for it over there
Dan Posted 20 August 2012 Posted 20 August 2012 I absolutely hammered the game when I was younger to an extent I could probably get on Ruby or Gold now and still complete it pretty rapidly knowing everything. Absolutely loved it, the cards never did owt for me but the games on the Gameboy were superb.
foxfanazer Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Charizard was the card to get, blastoise was a beast though. An onyx
Richard Posted 21 August 2012 Posted 21 August 2012 Got the games on my PSP, better than any of the current titles
