FC Sion and Roma have both been punished in the same way as Chelsea so it's not really anti-English bias from FIFA. We just ignored those cases because they weren't from the greatest league in the world. Also, for those complaining about the way Man Utd have been conducting their affairs, turns out Le Havre had already lodged a complaint against them for the way they sign Paul Pogba in July so maybe they'll get their comeuppance too. Hooray.

Agree with you all the way. It is bollocks to think that Fifa are anti-English. The Italians have more to shout about, especially when Blatter refused to hand over the World Cup Trophy to them in 2006.

Looking forward to them discussing this on Football Weekly, aren't you?

I wish! I haven't had internet at home since I moved to my new house at the end of June! We finally got our landline sorted today and our router will be delivered in less than five working days. I look forward to Barry Glendinning's views after having read his piece in the Fiver

Ahhh. Glad you will be sorted soon. This week has been pretty decent with Barry's typical abuse thrown in. Good piece on the fiver too. Barry's twitter updates are usually decent too by the way, if you're on there.

Le Havre president Jean-Pierre Louvel has contacted Fifa about Manchester United's signing of Paul Pogba.

Chelsea were hit with an 18-month transfer embargo earlier this week following their illegal purchase of Gael Kakuka from Lens in 2007.

Le Havre were quick to praise Fifa for taking such a stance and threatened to report United for the way they approached teenage star Pogba.

World football's governing body announced on Friday they had yet to receive an official complaint from Le Havre but Louvel claims he has now submitted the case.

The French official hopes Fifa will come down just as hard on United as they did with the Blues.

"The player had a no-hire agreement, and so had to sign his first contract in France," Louvel told radio station France Info.

"But he didn't sign it because Manchester United contacted the parents and made astronomical and excessive financial propositions for a 15-year-old boy.

"We have submitted the case to Fifa. The letter to leave has not been agreed by the French Federation, so today Fifa has been referred.

"I hope we will get the same result (as the Gaël Kakuta case), which could justify to those clubs they can't do anything and they have rules to respect."

Fifa have yet to confirm receipt of the complaint, while United insisted on Friday they would challenge any case brought against them.

Well we might have the whole top 4 banned at this rate.

Didn't they make his dad a groundsman for their pitch/training ground or something??

And not necessarily. Not all clubs break/bend the rules this much.

Anything anti-Big Four is pro-English if you ask me.

I don't think it is. At least for me.

Man City reported to FIFA - http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...5543626,00.html

Rennes have confirmed they have reported Manchester City to Fifa over the alleged poaching of French youngster Jeremy Helan.

City boss Mark Hughes snapped up the teenage defender earlier this year after he reportedly opted against seeing out his first professional contract with Rennes.

The Clairefontaine academy player had been wanted by Manchester United in 2008, but the Ligue 1 outfit dug in their heels over his departure.

With The Red Devils out of the picture City moved in, much to the anger of Rennes who insist that his pre-contract agreement tied both him and the club to a contract if he represented France at youth level.

Transfer ban

If found guilty of inducing a youngster to break a contract City could well find themselves in hot water with football's governing body after Chelsea were recently banned from signing new players until January 2011 over their pursuit of Gael Kakuta

Although Rennes' technical director Pierre Dreossi does not expect a decision to be made anytime soon, he fully expects big-spending City to face ramifications over their actions.

City are understood to be adamant in their belief that they have not induced a breach of contract in a case which is further complicated by the fact that Helan and Rennes are at odds, legally, over what he initially signed up to.

Consequences

"Manchester City must now realise the consequences of their attitude in the Helan case as it is even more illegal than Kakuta," Dreossi told The Independent.

"We have referred this to Fifa. For us it was strange to have no discussion from City and now, in the week after the Fifa declaration on Chelsea, I would hope that it will be the same thing for Manchester City.

"Kakuta signed up for just a possibility of a full contract. For Helan there was definitely one there, under the terms of the pre-contract agreement, because he had played for his country.

"Manchester United said it was not possible to negotiate with us but for City now this is dangerous, though we are not expecting a decision from Fifa for perhaps several years."

Liverpool next up...

Liverpool are the club reported by Crewe over an alleged illegal approach to sign a player from their academy, BBC Radio Stoke understands.

Crewe's director of football Dario Gradi revealed on Monday his club had made the complaint and the player in question is 15-year-old Max Clayton.

Liverpool were linked with Clayton in February 2008 and were willing to pay a six-figure sum to take him to Anfield.

Liverpool told BBC Sport they had no comment to make.

Crewe rejected Liverpool's initial approach for Clayton, but Gradi says the teenager now wants to leave the League Two outfit.

He told the Daily Express: "Max has come in and told us that he wants to leave right now to join a big club.

"You worry financially for the clubs where the players are stolen from.

"What sort of compensation are we going to get for all the work that has gone into developing him? Any compensation is insignificant for the effort that gone in.

"It's simple, the big clubs are stealing other people's players."

Gradi revealed the news in the wake of the decision to ban Chelsea from signing any players until January 2011.

The 68-year-old, who managed Crewe between 1983 and 2007, brought players such as David Platt, Danny Murphy, Seth Johnson, Robbie Savage and Dean Ashton through the ranks at the Alexandra Stadium during his time in charge.

Gradi has given his support to Fifa's decision to place a transfer embargo on Chelsea, after they were found guilty of inducing 18-year-old French midfielder Gael Kakuta to break his contract with Lens in 2007.

Chelsea have already confirmed that they will launch the "strongest possible appeal" to the ruling.

Manchester United could also face an investigation after it emerged that another French club, Le Havre, are going to ask Fifa to look into Paul Pogba's move to Old Trafford in August.

"I'm delighted with what has happened with Chelsea," added Gradi. "I would hope all the big clubs are frightened to death. There is no excuse for breaking the rules.

"We lost a 12-year-old to Everton. He was our best 12-year-old. The lure is that the bigger clubs pay big expenses.

"This kid will be getting several hundred pounds a week in expenses. We pay expenses but nothing like that. It's more a case of giving out £20 if someone can pick a kid up en-route.

"At least Fifa have given the smaller clubs hope."

It said on radio Leicester earlier today that Leicester have been reported by Redditch United for using an illegal method of approach to sign Aman Verma, that guy they signed earlier in the transfer window :o .

Only kidding ;);)

But it seems as though a load more Premier League teams are going to get punished, including Man City, Man U, and Liverpool

Italians not happy at transfer of Fornasier

Fifa have confirmed they have been contacted by Fiorentina about Manchester United's signing of Michele Fornasier.

The Italian Under 16 skipper has agreed a move to Old Trafford and he played in their Milk Cup win in Northern Ireland in the summer.

With Italian clubs unable to offer professional terms until they are 18, Premier League clubs have been constant raiders on Italy.

Manchester United have been one of the most consistent plunderers of the Italian market, having previously bagged the likes of Giusseppe Rossi, Federico Macheda and Davide Petrucci.

Fifa's recent banning of Chelsea for their capture of former Lens youngster Gael Kakuta, has brought the spotlight on other potential deals which could see Fifa act on them.

United's signing of French starlet Paul Pogba has angered his former club Le Havre, and both clubs have issued statements insisting they are in the right and will take action against the other.

However, whilst Fifa are still waiting to hear from Le Havre over allegations they have made about Pogba - Fiorentina have made moves to lodge an official complaint about Fornasier.

"We can confirm that we were contacted by Fiorentina with regard to the potential transfer of the player, Michele Fornasier, to the English club, Manchester United," a Fifa spokesman confirmed.

"However, so far no formal investigation was opened since the relevant documentation needs to be completed."

Fifa also confirmed that the Football Association, on behalf of Manchester United, have made contact with them about the registration of Empoli's youngster Alberto Massacci.

Massacci is another Italian starlet to have been snapped up by Sir Alex Ferguson'sacademy - but his move has been delayed by the Italian FA, who have yet to release his registration.

"We can confirm that our services were contacted by the Football Association on behalf of its member club, Manchester United, with regard to the international clearance for the player Alberto Massacci since the FA was not able to receive the pertinent international transfer certificate from the Italian Football Federation (the association of the player's former club). We are currently investigating the matter."

But it does need to be stopped.

If it leads to a more even English game, getting rid of the "Big 4"... Then i beg to differ

I think he was talking about the illegal approaches needing to stop.

:yesyes:

When you've got Italian clubs not able to offer professional contracts until 18 compared to our 16 it's inevitable this will go on.

not just italy, all of europe. thats why the bigger european clubs rarely have youth team graduates out. by the time they would have graduated english teams will have stolen the ones with enough talent to even make it at AC,Inter, Juve, Real Mad, Barca etc. Tis a complete farce and will have long term effects not just for the foriegn youth systems but also for english football itself
