Radovan's Caravan Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Radovan - Where's your Caravan, where's you caravan? Looks like our lilly livered neighbours have left it to us to do what the Zulu's did to you at Islandlwana . You outmuscled, outfought and outran the heartless tin men. Much as you would like to kid yourselves, a technical victory it wasn't. The climate in South Africa maybe more conducive to kick and rush tactics but any advantage here will be tempered by its secondary determinant - altitude. Gather ye rosebuds while ye may...
Edmund Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Didn't realise there was South American footy on tonight. Just seen Argentina are losing. Not getting any better for them is it.
AjcW Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 This is a disgrace. Glad im not argentinian. Palermo not played since 2000. Just brought some 35 year old on.... for his DEBUT. Sitting at home, Riquelme, lisandro, maxi.... See you later Diego.
Edmund Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Just saw Paraguay's goal. What a build up, lovely stuff. Still reckon Argentina will qualify it's far from over for them.
lildave3 Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009  Fantastic. I really hope Argentina don't qualify, but they will.
Fox You Forest Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 This should be good, Brazil with no pressure on them. Hopefully they'll let rip.
AjcW Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 This should be good, Brazil with no pressure on them. Hopefully they'll let rip. You staying up, i dont think i can manage
Edmund Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 This should be good, Brazil with no pressure on them. Hopefully they'll let rip. Hopefully but aren't they playing there second string? It didn't show the team lineup so not sure exactly whose playing though.
lildave3 Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Hopefully but aren't they playing there second string? It didn't show the team lineup so not sure exactly whose playing though. No Robinho, he's injured At least Andre Santos is playing
Fox You Forest Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Hopefully but aren't they playing there second string? It didn't show the team lineup so not sure exactly whose playing though. You say second string I say players with a point to prove. How was that not a free kick and red card. Nope I won't watch it all I'm tired now.
Darkzzz_ Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Shit management and he will surely go now after that. I hate all this bollocks about what Maradona done to England, I couldn't give a fook, wasn't around and even through all that I respect the footballer, the greatest to live. Saying that, I can't defend his management, Argentina have a great team, they are lacking a manager, a leader with experience. I was impressed with Uruguay tonight and they are closing in on Argentina now with a game to come against them. Worrying for Argentina! Pleased Spain sealed their qualification tonight too as well as England (let the hype begin) :-D
Edmund Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 No Robinho, he's injured At least Andre Santos is playing They have Adriano back in as well. You say second string I say players with a point to prove. Yep true. Also I see Alves is playing so there are some regulars.
Jordan Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 USA can't breathe easy yet, but by scraping a 1-0 win away at T&T on a day where Mexico hosts Honduras, they'll now pick up at least two points on one of their rivals in the top spots. It only seems like a matter of time before Mexico put the ball in the net. It's 0-0 just a few minutes away from a half time whistle that can't come soon enough for Honduras. El Salvador still holding Costa Rica 0-0, and if ES can get something out of that it would be a huge boost for the U.S. @ Argentina--does anybody at the AFA have big enough balls to fire him now? That result also helps my I-don't-have-a-second-favorite-team-but-I-have-a-soft-spot-for Ecuador, who helped themselves with a 3-1 win at Bolivia and now sit one point clear in fourth place with two to play
lildave3 Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 2-1 to Brazil at half time, decent game this.

Not many teams are going to outclass opposition like Croatia (twice!) the way England did today, 'technical' or not 'technical'. By the way, didn't you say that Bilic was a great coach and Capello was the wrong appointment by England?

PS See that your whinging northern neighbours were undone by the kind of class finish of which Owen and Heskey seem incapable (Elia moved onto his weaker side to round the keeper). For some unknown reason the Scots have laboured under a misapprehension that they play attractive football because they 'keep it on the deck.' The Picts/Gaels/Celts seem to be unaware that there is 'deck ugly' and 'deck pretty.' Guess which variety they play...
dogadug Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Decent game 2-1 half time Lets see if I can manage to stay awake through the second half!
Radovan's Caravan Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Not many teams are going to outclass opposition like Croatia (twice!) the way England did today, 'technical' or not 'technical'. By the way, didn't you say that Bilic was a great coach and Capello was the wrong appointment by England? Yes I did. But Capello is wrong for stunningly obvious reasons. England V Italy, knock out stages of the 2010 World Cup is a significant conflict of interest. England V Sweden under Sven isn't in the same league
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 I got that right. Now that performance was brilliant, we really have qualified in style, I think we have sent a real good message out to World football tonight. We have just smashed the 9th best team in World football tonight 5-1. Match report to come in the morning but a quick word to Radovan.. Haha. We're not scared bring on South Afica. Jesus and Cahill will cause your defence an immense amount of problems. If we don't get England in the group stage of the WC there is likely to be an Aussie v England friendly over here before the WC.
shen Posted 10 September 2009 Posted 10 September 2009 Yes I did. But Capello is wrong for stunningly obvious reasons.England V Italy, knock out stages of the 2010 World Cup is a significant conflict of interest. England V Sweden under Sven isn't in the same league So on the rather unlikely basis that England could meet Italy in the knockout stages of the 2010 World Cup, you argue that he's the wrong choice? How would Bilic have been any better then, especially when they actually drew Croatia in the qualifying stages? On a sidenote, this Brazil v Chile game is truly absorbing end-to-end stuff!
