I'm not talking about last season.

I mean this summer, when every newspaper said you would finished 3rd, Sky went and camped at your ground for about three days suring pre-season and everyone was just generally expecting you to be the best team in the world, just because you finished 2nd in the league with the son of a manager who has won a few things.

Let's not forget the Times had us down to finish 6th. Always liked the Times...

All of a sudden I love Peterborough Council. London Road is probably your best asset as a club, like Layer Road was for Colchester. Don't move!

Rubbish, we need more sterile identikit bowls that are devoid of atmosphere.

Seriously, why can't they just redevelop London Road? There's enough room to extend to around 20,000 on the existing site which would be more than adequate for a club of Peterborough's size. That isn't being condescending towards them, I just wouldn't like to see another Ricoh Arena where they struggle to half fill it and have to sell advertising space in the corners as a result.

the club do not own the site, making extension to 20,000 almost impossible

Surely if the new site fails to get planning permission, it would be cheaper for MacAnthony to buy the existing site and extend? :dunno:

dont really know the details behind it all, but all i know is that buying the site isn't option. I think we were quoted a ridiculous price for it so - including cost of site and expansion - in the long run it would be cheaper to move elsewhere.

i Have always liked Barry Fry. He is a real football man and has stuck by that club through thick and thin.. they were seriously hard up for cash a couple of seasons ago.

Im not sure what you mean by he sits on his arse and gets money for doing nothing... He doesnt own the club any more he sold it..na couple of years ago to someone else who has pumped loads of money into the club to get them where they are. He is the chairman still, i think but he has worked tirelessley for the club or over a decade now..

EDIT: possibly director of football not chairman..

Interesting post as I know the cast majority of Posh fans can't stand Barry Fry and never have been a great admirer, any Posh fans on here care to enlighten??

I rarely want to beat a team so badly, words cannot describe...

With exception of this game, for one simple reason... the media.

Remember the summer, do you remember when we got promoted? well the media didn't, apparantly last season only 'saintly' Peterborough went up, and they seemed to be the only team in the whole league which had a chance of doing well.

Sky certainly made sure we remembered their stunning 2nd place, a long way behind the winners, who... well I forget who the winners were to be fair.

Of course, half of me was delighted, the more attention taken off of us the better, let us get on with the job quietly and peacefully

But the constant love in with a team, just because their manager was a certain 'Ferguson' annoyed me, and I love the fact they have yet to win, and we are sitting in 6th place.

We have made a perfect 'two fingers up to the media' start to the season, while Mr. Ferguson has seemed to show that hey, maybe he ain't all that great after all, and maybe they should have devoted time to Nigel (though his one word answers would have put them off :P)

Anyway, we should win this, and we should further emphasise that we probably should have been taken more seriously than, even now, we are being taken.

But I have to say the media attention on Peterborough has diminished slightly hasn't it... I wonder why Sky's penis isn't firmly up Darrens bum-hole anymore?

Did I totally miss something? I noticed none of this. I thought we got a lot more coverage. How strange.

I know. Bad times. :(

The day they take Edgar Street, Hereford from this world is the day that I decide I've had enough of life though.

On a different note, I've been waiting on hold with the ticket office for about 25 minutes now (still going) trying to get some mates' tickets for this.

Absolute bullshit.

and the award for most incorrect facts in a post goes to.....

Clearly know nothing about the club and nothing about how football clubs in general are organised  .... Barry Fry has his critics but saying he does nothing for the club is stupid. The signings of Boyd, Mclean, CMS (who all ran rings around your lot last season) wouldn't have happened without him. The club have found a site but are facing problems with the council. We wouldn't need to ground share in the prem as we could turn terraces into temp. seating as long as plans were in place to expand/move. We had PHG ages ago! Kick-offs being moved is down to the police and/or TV the club dont make the decision.

idiot.

0-2, Mclean, CMS.

Come on The Posh!

And it seems you dont know the facts about your own club.

A. Boyd, CMS, etc were marked out of the game at our place last year.

B. Yes you would need to groundshare as your capcity wont be big enough

C. The kick-offs were moved because of Police but Barry Fry too had influence.

IDIOT.

The ground is owned by Colin Hill, a property developer. He refuses to sell to Macanthony unless it's for a ridiculous price and Macanthony refuses to plough his money into a ground we don't own. The only option left is to move out.

A new site has been chosen, very close to LR, but the council are dragging their heels over getting things moving.

We like our ground and we'd like to stay there, but most fans are happy go with Macanthony's plans because of everything else he's done for the club and because he's a fantastic chairman.

You should just create an exact replica of your current ground on this new site then. That would be my advice.

Cheers! I'll mention it to Macanthony in his next Q & A.

The thing is though he's hell bent on taking us to the prem (I know what you're thinking, I can hear the laughter down the A47) and we'll need a soulless bowl to play in if we get there.

I don't suppose Kermorgant has a chance of starting in this game, or coming off the bench?

........................Weale

Neilson......Hobbs......Tunchev......Berner

N'Guessan....Oakley...Wellens...Adams

............Gallagher.....Fryatt

Give Brown a sleep, and let Howard take it easy. Gallagher has only played one game as a striker against Barnsleyy so far, I think, and he wasn't match fit then. Would be good to check what he can do.
