I really dislike Posh as a club and have done for a long while now. I have always lived in Peterborough and seen them a few times when we arent playing, but could never want them to do well or have any success.

I find nearly all Posh fans very arrogant and think that they are world beaters. During recent years most football fans I know in the city support a big 4 team but never go, like all glory-hunters. But in recent years there are now a lot of people who decide they support Posh AS WELL. Thats just plain wrong in my opinion. You either support someone through thick and thin, not just jump on the band wagon like everyone has.

The crowds they get are disgraceful. They claim they want to be in the Championship for a few years before going up to the Prem, despite having a ground which has terracing (so not allowed to go up) and getting crowds of 8000 for good teams, like WBA. But they seem to think this 8000 is good! It hasnt imporved agreat deal since Macanthony has come in. And the funniest thing is that they still think they will go up, and will be able to ground share with us!

They are so disorganised they have to have 12pm kick offs in league 1 for the big teams as they cant handle the crowds! They even had to delay the kick off for WBA in the cup last year due to people trying to get in, only for an attendance of 10000! They make games all ticket then change their mind at the last minute, i.e. Sheff Wed home this season.

They have a little fat twat named Barry Fry who sits on his arse and gets money for doing fook all. When if he left the club I have no doubt it would make attendances go up as people wont go while he is there.

And they have been trying to get a new stadium for ages now but cant find a site anywhere! Its embarrasing!

And the worst thing is that they have stolen the PHG and use it to run out to this season! Thieving bastards.

Some of that is true. The bits that aren't are:

1. No-one has ever suggested ground sharing with Leicester.

2. We have a site for the new stadium. It's the Embankment.

3. Barry Fry does less than fook all.

4. We've been running out to the PHG for as long as I've been going (20 years) and for many years before that.

Now thats not strictly true. The first time I ever heard it being used by you was against Sheff Wed. I saw you lot 4 times at London Rd last season and similar amount the few years before that and I have never heard it being played before.

And its the jazzed up version which unless I'm wrong isn't very old at all.

We didn't use it last season, it keeps being replaced and then resurrected again. But we have been using it for numerous decades. The old version, not the "jazzed up version".

Here is a reference to us running out to it in 1954 if you're that interested: http://www.theposh.com/page/NewsFeatures/0...1314958,00.html

Yes, London Rd is a terrible ground

I'd happily swap ground with them. At least London Road has a bit of soul about it.

Not sure even I'd go that far! It's a bit past it's best and we're looking to build one a bit more like yours.

On the plus side it has "character". And music isn't played to indicate to the crowd when a goal has been scored ;) .

I quite like yours except for the fact it's identical to loads of others.

:o:o:o

No! No! No!

That's the worst thing you could possibly do!!! Don't do it, you'll regret it BIG TIME!!!

I know. We'd redevelop the current ground except that idiot Barry Fry sold it and now the guy who rents it to us won't let us redevelop it, so we've not got much choice but to get out.

I used to quite like Filbert Street. Went there a couple of times in the 90s when the away end was a corner of that big terrace. Always a good atmosphere.

We were at QPR on Saturday. Now that is a proper ground.

Tomorow is Tuesday 15th September 2009 and six years ago that day, we beat Leeds 4-0 via Nalis, Scowcroft and Dickov (2) - I think they scored.

A repeat of that night, Leicester 4-0 Peterborough with goals coming from Oakley, Howard and Fryatt twice.

To be honest, it's most probably becuase you live there and your constantly with other Peterborough fans.

I live 30 minutes away from Sheffield and the club I hate more than any other is Sheffield Wednesday mainly becuase of the fans who say Hillsborough is the best ground in the league, Frank Simek is the best full back in the league, Mark Beevers could play for Liverpool and Sheffield Wednesday are a bigger and better club than Leicester.

You get this automatic feeling just to hate the club.

Hopefully they come and try to beat us like last season, leaving themselves open for us to take advantage.

Another Morgan (?) own goal wouldn't go amiss either :D

We're gonna lose.

Even though we're (and rightly so) going into the game confident, Peterborough have still to win this season, and this kind of shit always happens to us.

Plainy at home, a year unbeaten at the Walkers (right, hold your horses) and a visiting team that looks more or less poor.

I'm not desperate for a win because I already know we're going to win this one.

No way the Posh are a threat the way they've been playing up to this point.

Case is clear: 3-0 win. Easy as. And Howard finally getting back on the scoresheet.

You heard it here first.

ok right.

thats it.

all blame will be shifted onto you for a re-galvanised Posh team to scare the willies out of us only for a Wayne Brown deflection off of his left knee cap winning it for us in the last minute

Our attendances have nearly doubled since MacAnthony took over - And as for ground sharing with you :D

That was the Police's fault. Posh have no way of affecting this decision. Sheff Wed was all ticket originally because Posh expected a large turnout of Sheff Wed fans. When they had only sold 1200 they made a decision to make it pay on the day

They have a little fat twat named Barry Fry who sits on his arse and gets money for doing fook all. When if he left the club I have no doubt it would make attendances go up as people wont go while he is there.

He does have a lot to answer for

Site has been sorted - It's P'Boro City Coucil that are holding things up

And the worst thing is that they have stolen the PHG and use it to run out to this season! Thieving bastards.

Certainly used it every game from 60/61 - late 60's at least. Most of the 90's it was used too

Leic 2-1 Posh :(

Slightly off topic but can any Posh fans confirm the rumour I heard that Aaron McLean is a half decent cricketer?

No, he''s not that good!

Charlie Lee and Joe Lwis are very very good - Apparently Joe could've made it as a pro cricketer

i Have always liked Barry Fry. He is a real football man and has stuck by that club through thick and thin.. they were seriously hard up for cash a couple of seasons ago.

Im not sure what you mean by he sits on his arse and gets money for doing nothing... He doesnt own the club any more he sold it..na couple of years ago to someone else who has pumped loads of money into the club to get them where they are. He is the chairman still, i think but he has worked tirelessley for the club or over a decade now..

EDIT: possibly director of football not chairman..

I know where he lives ;). Or I know one of the places where he lives. Probably got more than one house to be honest.

Optimistic about this one with Posh struggling and leaking goals like a sieve. I'm going for a 2-0 win with goals from Fryatt and Dyer.

and the award for most incorrect facts in a post goes to.....

Clearly know nothing about the club and nothing about how football clubs in general are organised  .... Barry Fry has his critics but saying he does nothing for the club is stupid. The signings of Boyd, Mclean, CMS (who all ran rings around your lot last season) wouldn't have happened without him. The club have found a site but are facing problems with the council. We wouldn't need to ground share in the prem as we could turn terraces into temp. seating as long as plans were in place to expand/move. We had PHG ages ago! Kick-offs being moved is down to the police and/or TV the club dont make the decision.

idiot.

0-2, Mclean, CMS.

Come on The Posh!

All of a sudden I love Peterborough Council. London Road is probably your best asset as a club, like Layer Road was for Colchester. Don't move!
