Weale 7 - Again not much to do in terms of saves

Neilson 7 - Did better than I expected against Boyd.

Brown 5 - Not up to the job of keeping the Mac attack out as his lack of pace showed.

Hobbs 7 - Had to help Brown out a lot and looked comfortable with Tunch

Berner 8 - MOM, what he hasnt got pace for he makes up in his brain, won every tackle and always steady.

N'Guessan 6 - Should have scored in the 1st half, didnt do much

Oakley 7 - OK performance never lacks effort.

Wellens 7 - Few good through balls and similar to Oakley

Gallagher 6.5 - Mot a winger for me, but did look threatening

Howard 6 - Won headers but didnt get help

Fryatt 6 - Missed a glorious chance in the 1st half one on one.

I agree with this apart from Neilson, I would give him a 6.

He needs time to settle imo.

:| I see the time you posted that, fancy changing? The referee was actually quite good

I thought he was excellent until a pedantic final ten minutes. His bookings punished cynical, dirty play. I thought both peno's were peno, it's just they are mostly unpunished.

Wayne Brown's performance was rather like my own on Sunday. Couldn't handle pace and then totally lost his rag giving away a penalty.

Weale - 6 - Mix up with Brown early on but wasn't tested that often

Neilson - 6 - Gets caught too far upfield too often but had a hand in getting the penalty

Berner - 7 - Best game for ages, bombed forward and stuck a boot in when needed.

Hobbs - 7 - Solid game, teamed up well with Tunch in the 2nd half.

Brown - 5 - Wasn't THAT bad but he was left one on one with their strikers too often.

Oakley - 6 - Busy but didn't influence the midfield enough

Wellens - 7 - All the good stuff went through him, great ball through for Waghorn in a late move but a few passes went astray.

NGuessan - 4 - No penetration, can't cross, Adams & Gradel must be itching for another chance.

Gallagher - 5 - Most of that score is for his first half curler. Could end up being the new Fenton at this rate.

Howard - 7 - Went up for everything but needs a goal to spark his season now

Fryatt - 6 - Aaaagh! Use your left foot!!!! So frustrating having someone so capable who misses so ften.

SUBS

Kingy - 7 - Found a bit of space, sprayed the ball about and had a great half.

Tunch - 8 - Was the calming influence that changed the game, got bandaged up & still headed everything. Unflappable.

Waghorn - 7 - I'd play him instead of Gallagher, sits on the defender's shoulder and has pace to burn.

Atmosphere - Cracking. Well done to L1 especially for the 2nd half "LCFC", drowned out their underage pikeys from the first goal onwards.

This. Got told by posh fans today the atmosphere was great.

Thought it was an okay performance, we were no nowhere near as bad as everyone is making out in the first half. We looked a bit shaky at the back, but made loads of chances. How we didn't score in that first half is beyond me, it was really last ditch defending by peterborough at times. Anyhoo, ratings:

Weale 6 - Dealt with everything well, especially the occasional risky backpasses he was given.

Neilson 7.5 - Low marks for Robbie are being far too harsh, he put in a big shift, and was busting a gut to provide some attacking width in the second half. He's not going to be able to control a ball like a winger, but he does his best. Dealt with Boyd pretty well, kept the long haired nonce pretty quiet.

Brown 5 - Was in the Kop, so didn't get the best view of Wayne's performance. But he did give away the peno, and got turned too many times for my liking.

Hobbs 6.5 - Solid again, looked good when he had the Tunch with him.

Berner 8 - Like Neilson, he busted a gut to provide some width in attack, and was collosal at the back. Turning into a bigtime cult hero.

N'Guesson 5 - Got no change out of the Boro left back, who clearly had the pace and strength to deal with him. Did a bit better on the left, but should have scored when Fryatt sqaured to him.

Oakley 6 - Ok performance, poor corners though. You've always got that 1 in 8 chance that a Oakley corner will be good, but the good corner never materialised last night.

Wellens 6 - Did ok, some of his passing was a bit looser than in previous games though. Great at winning the ball back though.

Gallagher 7 - Started shakily on the wings, and went on a few mazy backwards infield runs to avoid giving up possesion. But really grew in the second half, passing was good, and put in a lot of good defensive work too.

Howard 6 - Started badly, wasn't winning anything in the air cos Boro were double teaming him, or the long balls to him just weren't accurate enough. The change of shirt when he got cut seemed to help tho, because all of a sudden he became more of a threat. Unlucky not to score when his header was cleared off the line.

Fryatt 7 - Should have scored when one on one, but at least showed the confidence to shoot first time, and the shot was only just wide. Getting in the right positions though, and kept a cool head to slot home the peno. Excellent start to the season, especially considering he had no pre season.

Tunchev 10000000 (okay, not really, but a very good 8) I was delighted to see the Tunch back in action, loved it when he ran out to a 1 man post horn gallop :P So cool and composed, made Mclean and Mackail Smith his bitches. Never even has to run, because he's always in the right position, and his passing is crisp and accurate.

King 6 - Passing was decent, apart from a few missplaced ones. Ok in defence, but a few worrying mistakes, notably when he cleared while facing backwards, and sent the ball straight to Mackail Smith.

Waghorn N/A - Worked hard, but still can't read Howard's flick ons. Ran the channels well in his short time on the pitch though.

Ref 3 - Was pretty even handed, but SOOOO SLOW. Didn't let a single quick free kick be taken all night, when both teams were keen to use them. Peterborough were pretty dissentful as well, and he didn't crack down on it, so once Posh went ahead, they were stalling for time on every free kick or throw in. Joe Lewis was awful in particular, constant whinging, taking an age over goal kicks, and needlessly involving himself in an argument in stoppage time. Speaking of which, if we played the full 4 minutes stoppage time, then I'm a monkey's financial advisor. Seemed like 3 mins tops, and most of that was Lewis gobbing off. <_<

Forgot about that, he deserves it too, an absolute rock of a defender

Weale - 7

Neilsen - 6

Hobbs - 6

Brown - 5

Berner - 8*

Gallagher - 8 - 100% commitment even though he's out of his preferred position

Oakley - 6.5

Wellens - 7.5 - Best buy of the summer for me, and well worth his price if he continues to perform this well

N'Guessan - 5 - think we should start with Adams next time

Fryatt - 6.5 - apart from that ridiculous miss, thought he played well again.

Howard - 7 - Same old Steve

Tunchev - 7.5 - Made a massive difference after being brought on, calm and composed and a very welcome return

King - 6.5

Waghorn - N/A - should have come on earlier IMO

lol What?!

Basically you mean you just noticed him more because he stood out.

Nope, he really was winning more headers after his injury. Guess it must have pissed him off lol
