Salieri Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 If Wellens isn't fit, I reckon I'd go....Weale; Nielson, Hobbs, Tunchev, McGivern; Oakley, King, Berner; Gallagher; Howard, Fryatt Subs: Logan, Morrison, Adams, N'Guessan, Dyer, Kermorgant, Waghorn Like the look of that.
knowitall Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Like the look of that. Dont know how fit McGiven is. He is carrying a slight knock. Dont know if Manchester City will allow Leicester to risk him for 90 minutes.
StanSP Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Dont know how fit McGiven is. He is carrying a slight knock. Dont know if Manchester City will allow Leicester to risk him for 90 minutes. In that case, I think Berner will drop back to left back when/if McGivern comes off, and N'Guessan or Adams should come on.
Salieri Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 Dont know how fit McGiven is. He is carrying a slight knock. Dont know if Manchester City will allow Leicester to risk him for 90 minutes. So it is Kermorgant who will be getting his first start of the season....?

No defenders, no midfield, where the hell is this 'great squad' I keep hearing about?
StanSP Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 BolloxNot a criticism, just an expression of frustration. No defenders, no midfield, where the hell is this 'great squad' I keep hearing about? I love how people go on the defence when kia speaks. And what the hell are you onabout? We have plenty of defenders/midfielders.
mmarkie Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 As far as I can see every one wants a certain player to start his first league game of the season tomorrow against Preston .Well you will be happy then. TUNCHEV! or McGivern. And of course Kermit.
marbelladave Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 I love how people go on the defence when kia speaks. And what the hell are you onabout? We have plenty of defenders/midfielders. It's like telling blond jokes to blonds.
marbelladave Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 If as KIA says, Tunchev is up for 90 minutes I shall be very pleased. So I think will Hobbs! For some reason when playing alongside the Tunch he looks calm, capable and in control, even his distribution is decent. Alongside Brown he looks agitated and unsure, he makes mistakes and just hoofs the ball anywhere, looks half the player we know he is.

Lillehamring Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 If Wellens isn't fit, I reckon I'd go....Weale; Nielson, Hobbs, Tunchev, McGivern; Oakley, King, Berner; Gallagher; n'guessan, Fryatt assuming mcgivern is fit to play... only: i'd go with n'guessan instead of Howard, partly for his pace and that he seems to have an eye for goal, but also the versatility to change to a 442 (oakley/king/berner/n'guessan) if no mcgivern, berner stays at LB, Oakley king and adams/dyer in MF chances of happening? 15%?

Joe. Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 I hate playing Preston, we've got a dreadful record against them in recent seasons. Not confident personally, I think we might just lose this one. Here's hooing that Kingy can step up yo the plate and take his opportunity well. Wellens is a massive loss.

Kinda agree with what you say. However in previous matches we've hadshocking matches but had good results i.e. Blackpool - no win in league for 43 years but still beat em
carterfox90 Posted 25 September 2009 Posted 25 September 2009 wellens will be a huge loss if he doesnt play but if he is not 100% fit dont risk him he could get worse & be out for weeks kingy will do a decent job with oakley

clazkel Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 If Wellens doesnt play i would like the team to be Weale----Morrison Tunch HobbsN'Guessan Oakley Berner Adams---GallagherFryatt Howard
marbelladave Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 If Wellens doesnt play i would like the team to be Weale----Morrison Tunch HobbsN'Guessan Oakley Berner Adams---GallagherFryatt Howard FFS Don't show that line up to NP. He would need a lie down in a darkened room... We're playing 4-4-fooking-2, right!
Lillehamring Posted 26 September 2009 Posted 26 September 2009 If Wellens doesnt play i would like the team to be Weale----Morrison Tunch HobbsN'Guessan Oakley Berner Adams---GallagherFryatt Howard i suggested a 3-4-1-2 formation could be perfect for us a few games back, but i'm not inclined to think that today would be the game to uinleash it....

Although I share the sentiment about Wellens' influence in midfield, I don't see why we can't beat Preston at home in a convincing fashion without him. All these doubters and North End black-painters that have popped up in the past few days seem to ignore that we've usually fielded our strongest squad in the past weeks (including Wellens), yet thrown away some valuable points in the process. Which means that no matter what players you got, you always start off even. And every bad streak has to come to an end at one point.
