Why was Savage booed so much?

Recommended Posts

His failure to recognise that Leicester will have always provided him with his biggest achievements and then to throw this in the face of many fans.

As well as the Brum game, I remember him mentioning in an interview once 'By October, at Leicester we'd all gave up anyway'.

Anyone who seen his performance today...he looks to get rid as quick as he gets it and daren't dribble on it proves he's past it. To add, his complaints to the ref constantly were a disgrace.

He's not supposed to do that though.

My dad pointed out that he sat in front of Howard and blocked him off all second half, hence Howard giving away free kick after free kick.

I think others such as Croft are meant to dribble and Savage pick up the ruins, ala Claude Makelele.

For the last time, BRIAN CLOUGH ISN'T THE GREATEST MANAGER OF ALL TIME.

JUST BECAUSE YOUR WATCHED THE DAMMED UTD ASWELL FFS.

I HATE BRIAN CLOUGH AND I DID BEFORE HE DIED AND SO DID ALOT OF LEICESTER FANS.

I think he's a twat, I don't like him, but I do find it abit embarrassing that a player who played in one of arguably the best Leicester City teams, in our best era gets that type of reaction yet Hume (Who did what exactly) gets treated like a hero and get more chanting and cheering for than our own players - That's more of a point that everyone went OTT with Hume, Savage pretty much deserves what he gets.

I didn't even hear that song today but i admit i found it funny.

Didn't you ever use to sing about Robert Maxwell ;)

Savage was part of the greatest LCFC team in my lifetime so far, and we may NEVER get to those heights again.

Some of our fans prefer to boo opposing players, and swear at opposing fans than support our players.

One, I hate the dammed united. He swears to much on it which Clough wouldn't have done. I can see why Nigel and family hate it, disgrace.

And, he is the greatest manager of all time. Don't give me all that cobblers about Alex Ferguson, it took him 5 years at Manchester United to do something, what did Clough do, was it two or three years?

I have always liked Clough, my dad loves the man.

Not only was Cloughie the greatest manager, but he was also a fantastic striker.

You don't like him, ok, but the excuse of that song is disgraceful.

BUT IT WAS NICE OF YOU USING CAPITAL LETTERS.

Disgraceful if people were singing that Brian Clough song, truly disgusting. Nobody should sing any songs like this at any match, ecspecially when his son is the manager of the opposite side.

Disgraceful.

If this is true and you were one of those people then how can you sleep at night? And that reply 'Class' is shocking.

Respect comes into mind. Brian Clough is the greatest manager of all time. And it's not just that its respect all round for people like this.

Why do we have to sing the stupid songs if this is true including the 'who the f******l are you?' which is so stupid.

Anyway, I clapped Savage. Don't understand why he got booed this much, people behind me and my dad were shouting abuse left, right and centre.

He was a brilliant manager, but he wasn't the best ever, calm down.

Like your even old enough to know about him as well, it's not like you were around during his era or anything, so you never fully understand anyway. It's like when people say Pele was the best player of all time. Was he REALLY?

I like the man, always will do.

These things happen in football as I have said before. If you can't take it, go and watch ballet.

It's harsh to sing such songs, but what were you expecting? A bunch of flowers for Derby?

It will always happen, because there will always be a group of people who come out with 'bad' chants.

Always happened, always will. It doesn't make it any better but..

EDIT: Savage asks for it, half the stunts he pulled today were to wind us up. He deserves the abuse he gets, I booed him, and rightly so.

Totally agree with all that.

Them people that swear at opposite fans and sing stupid songs really wind me up, I mean, what are they acutally going for; the match or the away fans?

He's not supposed to do that though.

But how many of his passes actually stuck or found a fellow Derby player? Not many. Centre midfielder needs an engine and the ability to beat a man.

In terms of MON's team, Savage was a right-winger often in and out of the side. His personality never stood out whilst he was amongst some blokes with a stature to them.

Yes so its a good excuse to sing songs like that. Disgraceful. Get behind your own team, don't sing songs about the opposite team, ecspecially songs like that

Savage was winding the fans up on purpose, its what players like him and Huckerby do.

As someone above said, he was part of the greatest side in the last few years.

Iain Hume, Gareth McAuley, Richard Stearman all went when the club went reached their lowest point so they deserve booing. - I won't clap these players, and I didn't clap Hume.

Bit like Savage when money was getting tight and admin was just six months away?

That for me was the club's lowest point...we put people out of work, didn't pay St John's Ambulance and made a load of sub-contractors go bust on the construction of our new stadium.

It wasn't an excuse, did I even say it was excusable? No. I said that these things happen in football, you can't do anything about it.

Savage was a good player, but when he intentionally winds us up like at Birmingham and today, how does he not deserve it?

I didn't clap any of them as well.

Off topic but don't you?

I thought I was the only one not to like those 3.

And ok, Savage winds us up but thats what he does and our fans reacted back and thats what makes him get up for games. He was getting stuck in more than our midfield today.

Yeh, never players that completely ditch us, Hume especially. Everyone loved him when he came back, it was a disgrace

True, Savage was okay today. He made an absolutely cracking ball across the other side of the pitch on a chest and volley pass which led to a Derby counter attack.

If he plays for you, you love him.

If he's playing for the other team you hate the Wurzel.

Simples.

Now for Warnock is a willy puller on Tuesday night

Did you see what he did at the end of the match? Bowed down to the Derby fans!

Dickmuncher. Obviously a wind-up, not as if they'd been in any way vocal until after the final whistle.

Posted
Maybe it's because when he was playing for Birmingham against us he purposely kissed the Brum badge in front of the Leicester fans with no other intention then to wind them up, which was a bit of a cockish thing to do really.

Yeah, the oldest niece adored him, but after that Brum game, the child hated the man. It says a lot when a 5yr old can see what he's doing/done.

Savage was never a great player in my opinion, always booting players and then diving or fiegning injury to get them booked. The worst was when he ran 30 yards towards the Ref waving an imaginary card when we played Brum to get Elliot sent off, i know Elliot deserved it but you dont want an ex (average) player doing that. Oh and i also think he is a complete KNOB !!! I booed him and i was playing golf in Cornwall. ;0) :scarf:

I'll never forget what the niece said; "he got Matty Elliott sent right off the pitch". Those words will stick with me forever.

and you sir are a grade A minge

I find that deeply insulting. <_<

Yeah and he made some really harsh challenges aswell that game, and im sure he got a decent reception from the leicester fans at the beginning of the Brum game

Indeed. And he threw it back on our faces.

As much as I didn't like Clough, I can still at least show some respect. This is what makes me a better person than you.

Didn't you ever use to sing about Robert Maxwell ;)

Comparing a football manager, who was an alchi, with a man who ripped off thousands of people is a little unfair.
