C-man Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Of course he is. He's not in great form but no-one in our current side is. You have to be prepared to give young players a chance to develop else we'll be back to the days of past it journeymen.
colbo68 Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 in my opinion hes good enough past two games he's looked like a boy playing a mans game - too slow, too easily barged off the ball - for me, he's very similar to Gallagher - nice when on the ball, poor off it If he gets physically stronger, which he should do of course, he may be a decent Championship player, nothing more than that though I don't reckon....
FilboFox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 He's not good enough at the moment... but then many of the team aren't... we'll just have to see how well they've played by the end of the season.

Fox92 Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 I voted yes, because I think he is good enough. Obviousley! He does things in a small and quiet way, and you hardly notice him.

Leicester-Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 King is not good enough, he provides nothing to the team. King never makes any impression on the game and I think this is affecting Wellens who now seems half the player we signed. Oakley and Wellens should play in the middle, with two wingers. Yann and Fryatt up front.

If Oakley and Wellens are as great as some people think with their superior experience King's performances shouldn't be affecting them. Besides their main problem at the moment is finding a Leicester player something on which King out performs them even at this time.
willchafer Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 i think he will be good and does have some good games...but on the other hand i do feel he does have some very average peroformances and should consider some other players but i do think he deserves a chance this season.
Leicester-Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Or is it because Wellens and Oakley are less than half the players we signed that's creating an unnecessary burden on King? Thats a good shout, however you look at it there is currently no creativity in our midfield. The best line up would be Negussan - Wellens - Oakley - Gradel. However NP doesn't seem keen on recalling Max, Adams could cover the right. I don't understand why NP keeps playing players out of position.
DanTheFox07 Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 King might be good enough in future but isnt now!
dandannieldanok Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Yes he can be, but he seems to lack energy and rarely sticks his foot in.

For me any 2 from those 3 alone in midfield are not strong/good enough so it's got to be a 451 formation with 2 proper wingers pushing up alongside a lone striker.

None of our current strikers can play that role. No good having 5 in midfield when our only form of attack is hoofing the ball to the smallest man on the pitch! Hopefully tomorrow will be an improvement, with a goal from King!!!
Ultra Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 Looked quality at times last season, but has really struggled with the step up. When was the last time he had a decent game at Championship level?

Well with 3 CMs and two proper wingers there shouldn't be any need to hoof it, they need to be made to play the ball through a 5 man midfield.
mickydeeeuk Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 for me, he's not good enough for us! it seems to me to be a case of the emporers new clothes with some people, please dont take offence king lovers, we're all entitled to our opinions and im sure we all see the game differently i'll try to explain what i mean... because hes young and people often say what a great prospect/what a great player he is (people probably a lot better qualified to comment than i, but i am entitled to my opinion!) they end up believing it, to the point of blindly repeating it!! I have seen nothing in perticular from him to impress me much, he infuriates me with his instinct to immediately look to play the easiest ball, which is almost always backwards and often leaving a team mate exposed and he hardly ever seems to 'get stuck in' and the reason he is not noticed much is simply because in my opinon he doesnt actually do much! most games just seem to pass him by. In his defence the manager must see something that i dont or he wouldnt pick him every week, but i fail to see it, in his defence everytime it seems to get to the point where i think surely he'll be dropped he pops up FROM NOWHERE and scores a goal, some of which admittidly have been belters and some of which have been important goals in terms of acheiving results. I am of the opinion that if Oakley as captain has to play (dont entirely agree with that either!) then he should partner wellens in the middle and not be played out of position, like so many of our lads at the minute for some reason! I really dont think King cuts the mustard at this level, not to say that he wont in the future... he may even play a higher level who knows, but for me he doesnt do enough to warrant his place in the team. I REALLY hope he can change my opinon in the future but right now ...its a no from me!

Solution, recall Weso who is strong enough, doing well and free of injury. We do pay his wages still.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 11 December 2009 Posted 11 December 2009 He is good enough, but at the moment he just isnt playing well, but neither is anyone else. He is sometimes very underrated, as he does a lot of work defensively and is often used as a man marker in games. But like the rest of midfield he needs to score more.
