samjohnson Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Get some European 'Tifo' style things happening... Get the club to put something on! (I realise it is highly unlikely because it might make someone drop a prawn sandwich but its worth a try )

LCFC-ARAB Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 you`ll have to excuse my ignorance here, but what is `tifo`? not really sure if these will work cause i'm crap at it..... this isnt really a tifo but worth a watch anyway
marbelladave Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Was that the 4-3 one with Keyworth & Law getting hat-tricks? Don't think so, I was pretty young but I'm sure I remember George Best scoring at the Filbert street end. Mind you in those days our 'core' support was reckoned to be around 28,000 and there were plenty of games when the crowd pushed towards 40,000. Talk about atmosphere, most of today's supporters would probably be in shock! The air in the Kop was about 90% beer fumes and Woodbine smoke, nothing like it.......
CosbehFox Posted 14 December 2009 Posted 14 December 2009 Every home game has poor support. Apparently even Sheffield Wednesday aren't that great at home themselves. It's away when the real noise kicks in. Hillsborough is a morgue, normally cos it around 60% full. Champions league nights look a bit special on the box Happily aided by strategic placing of microphones...the telly people like to ply around with the mic's to ensure they get the best 'atmosphere'. I once tagged along with a mate to watch them against Wigan at the JJB, and Chelsea couldn't even sell out their allocation. How embarrassing is that. Their support is nowt to shout about either. Pretty ordinary tbh. That could be the Sunday game near Christmas where there wasn't a single method of public transport to get back...
Fosse Boy Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 not really sure if these will work cause i'm crap at it..... You couldn't resist could you?
Fox92 Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Chelsea? I don't find anything awesome about that over bloated combat 18 posh stamford bridge club. Been there, not impressed with their home fans. And their songs? Foxes got better ones for sure. I meant the songs such as Blue Day and Blue Is The Colour, You'll Never Walk Alone at Anfield and Marching On Together.

Mid-week FA Cup replay v Fulham in 1974 stands out for me. Over 37000 for a mid-week night game.
Fosse Boy Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 I meant the songs such as Blue Day and Blue Is The Colour, You'll Never Walk Alone at Anfield and Marching On Together. Yuck. In fact, yuck to Chelsea in general.
lcfc_jme Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Honestly will not be suprised when clubs actually set up a choir to record some of the team's "chants" in a studio and then just play it over the PA on loop all game to be honest.
z-layrex Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 you`ll have to excuse my ignorance here, but what is `tifo`? When you're watching a CL game with an Italian club playing, and the fans are going fooking apeshit with fireworks etc, that. Most Italian club fans do it, apart from Lazio, they prefer the English way and only do it at darby's and big games.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 You couldn't resist could you? i'm sorry it's just so beautiful! Honestly will not be suprised when clubs actually set up a choir to record some of the team's "chants" in a studio and then just play it over the PA on loop all game to be honest. i could have sworn man city got bollocked for playing crows noise over the PA system it's starting already.....
blueblood Posted 15 December 2009 Posted 15 December 2009 Had a few of my mates tell me (who are Sheffield Wednesday fans) that the Leicester fans were shocking. But, what can I say really? Because I agree - there is no atmosphere. Then again, no fans create a great atmosphere when they are at home apart from the clubs with awesome songs like Liverpool and Chelsea etc. I've been a season ticket holder for 15 consecutive years, and I don't entirely agree with this comment- okay, yes away fans always make a lot of noise, and 90% of the time city away is great. But Filbert Street use to be amazing, not every game, granted, but at least half of the home games, our Kop use to be excellent and boy was it loud on match days. The atmosphere at the Walkers is probably the worst in the league, it is so ****in dry, and I'm ashamed of it. Lee Jobber with his drum and the boys try there hardest, fair play, but the atmosphere's still really poor. The only time I've ever experienced a good atmosphere since we moved there was against Birmingham at Home 2, maybe 3 seasons ago on a Tuesday night- we were 2-0 down, near the bottom, they were top of the league with Andy Cole and Bentdner upfront, and in the second half, out of nowhere, the Kop just came alive and didn't stop singing for a second, it was great. We lost 2-1 in the end, but after the match Steve Bruce couldn't stop praising our support, he said it was the best he'd witnessed all season! Thats' what we need on a consistent basis, cos it intimidates opposition teams. Stoke do it regularly in the prem at The Brittannia, we need to start again... LEICESTER TILL I DIE...

I'm sure S****horpe do something like this, they play that horrible screaching noise when they get a corner. Either that, or I was very drunk

The Doctor Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 the way to produce atmosphere is to have someone chase a gaggle of geese around ,the walkway between stand and advertising hoardings, with a giant pointy stick.
Kilworthfox Posted 17 December 2009 Posted 17 December 2009 I think we should chose a game and try and get everybody to sit near each other rather than it being spread out at the moment, get some flairs, some drums and some drunken eastern europeans, job done. I would be utterly delighted to do this or join in Where can I get a flare?
