Pearson changes the team too much. He should stick with the Wednesday line-up and run with it.

I would agree but Dyer looked the weak link against Wednesday, I would play Adams instead tbh.

Same side, no need to change unless injuries are picked up before the game.

agreed, cardiff have no pace so playing oakley on the right shouldn't be a problem

Dyer actually gave us shape, he had a good game I thought, made a few runs at players which we've missed and it was a shame they didn't pay off. With a few games under his belt he'll get his confidence back and will be skimming players like they aren't there again.

I agree with you to some degree but I think that he was quite hesitant and gave the ball away too much for my liking.

I didnt think he played particularly well but tbf he does help with his presence alone. Hes a fast player and when he runs wide like he did on saturday I think it stretches their defence more than we usually do

When Gallagher plays on the left he comes inside so much that it muddles up the midfield and puts people out of position. With Dyer he knows his position and generally sticks to it. When King and Wellens both know the midfield is theirs it makes it easier on everyone else.

O dear!

On saturday we reverted to our league 1 side playing league 1 football against a (soon to be) league 1 side. We won with some ease.

Play like that against decent opposition, (Cardiff are 3rd,) and we will get beaten.

I expect a very tough game and we need to be up for it, and we need to be absolutely sure of what we are doing.

Why change the team after a 3-0 win? :S

Ok, it was against a poor side who are looking at relegation but we still won 3-0 and replacing player may disrupt harmony and morale etc ecspecially after most of the side played well.

i think part of the answer you provided yourself, cardiff are no SW - it's horses for courses... the other part of the answer is that pearson seems to be in favour of some kind of rotation...

if, as a previous poster suggested, cardiff have no pace, pearson may opt to including that by including n'guessan instead of howard - who knows.

personally i think he'll keep the same team, more out of caution than game plan, which could be really dangerous. i'd like to see kermo in for howard, i know they (fryatt/howard) did alright in the last match but, this is a different game entirely, i think fryatt/kermo is the way forward and the sooner they start playing as a front two the sooner we can move forward as a team - lets face it howard will be no use next season and it's unlikely we'll buy anyone any better than we already have, lets commit to it now while we are relatively comfy and let it develop over the rest of the season.

So what do you suggest then? You've told us our problems but offered no solutions.

Wednesday were poor yes but who cares, we won and won comfortably. Stick with the same bunch, it would be nonsensical to change again. I just hope Pearson for once settles for the same 11.

I have described many times how we need to move away from the direct, long ball game that we have played since Pearson has been in charge. Ideally we should have been developing a more flexible, passing game earlier in the season when things were going pretty well, but Pearson did not do that, preferring to stick with the long ball game, even without Howard. He even tried some odd formations to try and make it work in his absence but these were not successful.

Last week we reverted to League 1 tactics and it worked against a poor side, Cardiff will not be so easy!

I fully expect Pearson to play the same way against Cardiff so with that in mind I would bring in Nielson for Brown and Yanni for Howard and set up the same as last week.

Not what I would really like to do but under the circumstances, with our confidence on the edge, this is what I would try.

So do I really, he really hasn't been given a chance up front.

Same could be said about Gallagher aswell, hasn't had a real chance but I feel with a run of games he could be deadly.

He clearly has the quality, like Kermo.

Same team.

Howard played very well. So he deserves a start again.

Both could partner Fryatt.

Yanni looks a straight replacement for Howard if the big man / little man is your thing. He is younger, faster and has better control, all he lacks is experience and it is high time he got it.

Gallagher would work too, but we would have to play the ball into him on the floor, something we appear incapable of doing. Makes me wonder why on earth we bothered to sign him.... :dunno: :dunno:
