Great episode but it made me sad......mainly because it'll all be over soon. Last episode May 23 in States

Get ready for more "Lost."

The producers of ABC's hit drama have shot so much crucial material for the show's hugely anticipated finale that the network has agreed to extend the last episode by an extra half hour.

When the "Lost" finale airs on Sunday, May 23rd, the episode will run from 9 to 11:30 p.m. The overrun will air instead of the local news, with the "Jimmy Kimmel Live: Aloha to Lost" post-finale special remaining at 11:30 p.m. ABC is expected to announce the plan on tonight's episode of Kimmel.

Executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof just completed post-production on the finale" -- on Monday night. Both sent out identical Tweets: "We're done. Amen."

The supersizing of the finale is the latest adjustment to what might as well be called "The 'Lost' Weekend." ABC is airing an "enhanced" (pop-ups) version of the show's original two-hour pilot on May 22. On Sunday there's a two-hour retrospective titled "Lost: The Final Journey," followed by the finale and Kimmel post-show.

I can't believe it's ending... probably the only show EVER that I've not missed one second of.

There are so many better shows out there it's untrue. Saying that I've stuck with this all the way through even though it started getting stupid in season 4, purely because I've put so much time into it I don't want it to have been a waste.

I'm looking forward to going back and watching the earlier seasons again.

Because if it all makes sense and adds up what happens in the early seasons, to result in whats happened in the end ones then this show is genius.

Amazing episode, probably one of the best for me.

I had read a year or more ago that the bodies they found in the caves in season one were 'crucial' to the whole series and they turned out to be.

So it seems Jacob created the smoke monster by pushing man in black 'into the light' but if man in black died then how was he brought back to life, or is he actually dead? And how did the 'men' come up with ideas to use the 'light' including the orchid station to move the island, and who was the random woman there, why did she burn all the men, or did she, was that someone else. We know man in black appears at some point at the end of season 4 when he says to Jacob their greedy, corrupt, it always ends the same blah blah, which is what the 'mother' said to the both of them, so man in black got that from her

Good episode

I just can't wait for the next one

if they released them all at the same time i could easily sit for 24 hours straight just watching it

From what I understand when the man in black went into the light his soul was stripped from his body creating the black smoke.

Good episode - few questions answered but I'm also asking a few more. Kind of like the writers way of saying "you wanted answers so here you go" maybe? - especially after the drama of last weeks episode.

40 minutes and the finale to go! Can't wait to have an ending finally - just struggling to see how they can find something that's going to please everyone. But it's LOST so nothing's impossible!

In a recent episode didn't the smoke monster, then appearing like Locke, say it could only appear as dead people. The man in black has been dead all along

Jack :wub: Was always gonna be wasn't it! Desmond is awesome! and I still have no idea what side Ben is on (usually his own though) and poor Richard. Glad we finally got a proper explanation from Jacob about everything - feel like we've been waiting for that conversation for a long time. Looks like Illana needed Jacobs ashes so his ghost could keep appearing but now they're in the fire and when the fire burns out Jacob will be gone and LOST effectively ends (be quite nice if the final shot was the fire going out)

Interested to see what happens in the alternate timeline. Desmond is awesome!

I believe so

It seems that now Jacob has nearly gone, his "gifts" are wearing off - this makes me think that the rest of his candidates are no longer protected and infact now Jack has the top job they're probably not protected at all ... unless Jack uses his new found power to protect them :dunno:
