maddog Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 it was good ages ago in season 1 and 2 but i lost intrest after it just started going too bloody weird. same with heroes really. heroes got cancelled though. The writers have said they wrote a couple of seasons of fairly pointless 'filler' because they didn't want to get to the ending so fast. Now thats out of the way, seasons 5 and 6 are back to been really good again. 3 and 4 were poor.
Guest Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Meh You're right that 3 and 4 were god awful but to be honest I think the whole thing will end up being looked back on as a massive disappointment.

Did you just compare lost to heroes? Meh You're right that 3 and 4 were god awful but to be honest I think the whole thing will end up being looked back on as a massive disappointment. I think the first half of 3 was average but since then it's been really good. Not sure that the writers said they'd wrote a few seasons of filler either. I think it was more of a case that they had no end point in site and therefore had nothing to aim at.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 May 2010 Posted 19 May 2010 Would someone care to give a rundown of whats happened in the previous episodes? I've not watched any of it you see, but I have a reliable source that tells me that it all links into Squirrals?
EmLeee Posted 20 May 2010 Posted 20 May 2010 Sky 1 is showing the Episode at 5am Monday morning (same time as it goes out in America) Brilliant news

rico Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Sky 1 is showing the Episode at 5am Monday morning (same time as it goes out in America) Brilliant news anyone getting up to watch this? will be sky+ing it and trying to avoid any spoilers all day tho!
grth2004 Posted 23 May 2010 Author Posted 23 May 2010 My alarm will be set for 4 45 no way I'm missing this respect to you i will try myself but at 4.45 ill probably just turn my alarm off and watch it when i get home.
Guest Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 Well worth the early start I have to disagree. After finishing a night shift and staying up to watch this I have to say, like the rest of the seasons, the finale left you with as many questions as to it's meaning as the previous god knows how many episodes. I can see why people will like it but sadly it didn't cut it for me
maddog Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 not a great ending really, we don't know what happened in between the plane flying off the island and how they all end up dead in a church. Very random.
EmLeee Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 not a great ending really, we don't know what happened in between the plane flying off the island and how they all end up dead in a church. Very random. Yes we do! The alternate time line is timeless - Jacks dad said! So no matter where or when they died they all ended up there. The Island made them all better people and helped them with their flaws. And because of everything they went through on the island they became close and had to complete the journey together - so subconsciously they created a world where they got what they wanted (with the exception of what they found on the island that completed them - in most cases it was closure on their off-island problems/love (which cures and conquers all) and this was the trigger that made them remember the on island memories.) The absent people (Ana-Lucia, Walt, Michael, Eko etc.) were the ones who were not ready to "move on" because they were still putting themselves right in the alternate world. And also Ben who chose not to go through with them because he wasn't ready. Yeah there's a few things we still don't know but that's why we have imaginations! It was nice that Jack went full circle and ended up back where he started It's always been about the characters journey's (moving on, letting go etc) and not just the mysteries surrounding the island so it's nice to think that they all ended up in a nice place where they were happy.

Seems to make sense. Think i would have preferred some sort of shot of a giant Hurley statue, where 'the statue' is, perhaps a ship on the horizon, Hurley, wearing some sort of crown, tucking into some Mr Clucks chicken, says here we go again.

Babylon Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 An emotional finale, there was never going to be an explanation for it all that would have pleased everyone.
maddog Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 An emotional finale, there was never going to be an explanation for it all that would have pleased everyone. Loved it when Jack said see you in another life brother, a few seasons after Desmond said it to him in the stadium. That must have been season 2. Still need to get my head around all the different flashforwards/flashbacks, time travel, parallel worlds, world where their dead, world after they've left the island, 1970s Dharma inititive. On paper this show never should have worked
Craig Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 I was worried slightly at points when I feared they were leaving it too late to tie the two realities together, but they really nailed it. The perfect ending to a possibly disappointing season of a brilliant show. I'll miss Lost so much
Ozwin Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 Now you bumholes can watch good shows like Breaking Bad, Sopranos, Six Feet Under and The Wire. Lost pails in comparison to those shows.
