StanSP Posted 4 January 2010 Share Posted 4 January 2010 Is rap allowed in this competition cos there's at least 497 rap tunes that would make it into any top 1000.Also what is Mr Brightside? I thought he was the DJ on XFM when I saw the thread. I'm not checking on youtube until I hear what people say is Mr Brightside. And what is the L**E thing Smuts was on about in first post? It's a rap song! How have you not heard it?

Bellend Sebastian Posted 4 January 2010 Share Posted 4 January 2010 Chasing Cars won song of the decade on Channel 4's 'Greatest Song of the Noughties'.Is there a link to the 1000 best songs results? The full horror can be viewed here: http://www.xfm.co.uk/onair/shows/xfms-top-...all-time?page=1 I hate these fucking things, and the way that people use them to justify their own tastes - you won't get stabbed for liking something that's not popular, well I haven't been yet, anyway and I've bought more Gorky's Zygotic EPs than you've had hot breakfasts. I particularly hate it when there's a lot of stuff that I own featured, which there is with this one. Anyway Here's a list of songs wot I like. Do You Realise? - The Flaming Lips Kinky Boots - Patrick MacNee and Honor Blackman Assignment - The Beta Band Hush The Warmth - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci Spanish Dance Troupe - Gorky's Zygotic Mynci Theme From Sparta FC#2 - The Fall Ladybird (Green Grass) - The Fall Hip Priest - The Fall There's Too Much Love - Belle & Sebastian Jonathan David - Belle & Sebastian Lazy Line Painter Jane - Belle & Sebastian Suedehead - Morrissey The First of The Gang To Die - Morrissey Well I Wonder - The Smiths The Boy With The Thorn In His Side - The Smiths Interlude - Morrissey & Siouxsie Sioux You Woke Up My Neighbourhood - Billy Bragg Shot In The Dark - Ozzy Osbourne Have You Seen Her Face? - The Byrds All Along The Watchtower - The Jimi Hendrix Experience They Don't Know - Kirsty MacColl Carrion - British Sea Power Waving Flags - British Sea Power Remember Me - British Sea Power Juxtaposed With You - Super Furry Animals Ice Hockey Hair - Super Furry Animals Simon Smith & His Amazing Dancing Bear - Alan Price Set Back In Black - AC/DC I haven't looked but I assume they're all in the top 50. They're not? A pox on all your houses
Fosse Boy Posted 4 January 2010 Share Posted 4 January 2010 Christ on a bike, that list is retarded. I like most of the songs in the top fifty but doubt the vast majority of them could justify a place there. Anyway, some more suggestions... The Who - Behind Blue Eyes Pearl Jam - Black Pearl Jam - Betterman Pink Floyd - Time Rory Gallagher - Moonchild Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven Foo Fighters - Everlong The Clash - Guns of Brixton Rush - The Spirit of Radio Biffy Clyro - 57 Muse - Citizen Erased (Hardly an ecletic list I know but hey ho)
StanSP Posted 4 January 2010 Share Posted 4 January 2010 Gotta admit, that list (top 50 at least...only scanned quickly at top 150 at most) is pretty shit. There are so many songs not in that list that should be there.

Tommeh Posted 5 January 2010 Share Posted 5 January 2010 No Miley Cyrus in that top 50, stunned. It's completely littered with muse, which instantly makes it shite. I back Smuts list to be superior. 2 suggestions: The Cribs - Martell Lightening Seeds - Suger Coated Iceberg
