Edmund Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I was just doing my daily bit of trolling
Edmund Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Mandaric insists prize assets such as leading scorer Matty Fryatt, defender Jack Hobbs and goalkeeper Chris Weale would not be sold, and he has pledged to fund any January signings out of his own pocket if manager Nigel Pearson identifies a top transfer target. I'm guessing there have been enquiries for Hobbs and Weale as well as Fryatt then
StanSP Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I'm guessing there have been enquiries for Hobbs and Weale as well as Fryatt then Not necessarily. MM might just see these 2 players as our most valuable and arguably best players in the squad and so he's just warding other clubs off by insisting they aren't for sale.
Fox You Forest Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Or that those three have been linked with a move in the press fairly recently.
davieG Posted 12 January 2010 Author Posted 12 January 2010 Or it's a subliminal message of 'any offer will need to be bigger than offered so far'
leicesterfox86 Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Or it's a subliminal message of 'any offer will need to be bigger than offered so far' Exactly that.
MPH Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 I'm guessing there have been enquiries for Hobbs and Weale as well as Fryatt then There were stories a few weeks ago that Weale was on the shortlist of 5 GK's for Spurs to look at in trying to find an understudy to their only one fit goalie at the time.... It sounds crazy, i know and im sure i didnt imagine it... Hobbs, young promising... i'd be suprised if he wasnt being look at. EDIT: glad i didnt imagine it. Spurs consider Chris Weale raid
Kilworthfox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 i took that as meaning Gradel and DJ Almost the club want rid of DJ & Dickov I know he said good players, but he has to hype them up somehow!
Legend_in_blue Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 How's MM going to fund additional players to the squad? HM tax refund?
Tony Pine Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Almostthe club want rid of DJ & Dickov I know he said good players, but he has to hype them up somehow! this would make me so happy if we could offload the ******
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Good to hear that no one is being sold who is any good. I think Campbell should be sold for any fee anyone gives but to be honest I'd like to see us bring Gradel back and give him a go.
midfield Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 bring back gradel and let dj go for a small fee just get rid of him and please please get rid of that turn coat dickov cant belive we took him back after jumping ship a few years ago and snap any hand off who offers 5 million for fryatt then get simon cox in as he not playin re gular
jonthefox Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 MercLeicester City owner Milan Mandaric has vowed he will not cash in on the club's best players. Mandaric insists prize assets such as leading scorer Matty Fryatt, defender Jack Hobbs and goalkeeper Chris Weale would not be sold, and he has pledged to fund any January signings out of his own pocket if manager Nigel Pearson identifies a top transfer target. Pearson has stated he would have to wheel and deal during the transfer window if he wanted to strengthen the squad. Fryatt, in particular, has been the subject of speculation that Wigan Athletic were poised to make a £5 million swoop for the 23-year-old, who has scored 12 goals so far this season. However, Mandaric said City would not sell and has even promised to personally dig deep if Pearson decided there was a player who could really bolster his side's push for the play-offs. "We are not selling any of our players who are contributing this season," he said. "We have a couple of good players who are not with the team and he is trying to find a home for them. That is what he is referring to when he says wheeling and dealing. "Nigel will be the first to say he doesn't want to just accumulate players, because he does have good players already. "But if there is a real need and a player like David Beckham or someone like him is available, and then Nigel says he must really have that player, then there will be no problem. I would support him 100 per cent. "I would have to put my hands in my pocket but I already do that. When you are losing money every year it has to come from somewhere. Let's not kid ourselves. "He wouldn't come to me and say he had to have a certain player just for the sake of it. I know that if he asked it would be because he genuinely needed that player. Then I would be there. "I have dialogue with Nigel all the time. He is the boss in terms of the team and I am here to support him. Nigel has a lot of common sense in terms of the business as well as the team. "The way he looks at things is that he has a group of players who are working well, and for him to bring in someone it has to be someone who is over and above the quality he already has. "He is happy with the squad he has got. He wants to find a home for a couple of players because we are supplying other teams with some players, but if something comes up and he needs it, he will definitely get some support on that. It will be his call." any ideas who.......nielson
Spiritwalker Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 Sensible, I still think we need a c.mid but NP is right not to just add to the numbers any c.mid signing would need to be quality. Having said that, I don't think it would be difficult to improve at r.back. I don't like to keep hammering a player but Neilson has a serious lack of pace, that impeeds his performance both in attack and defence. There must be a few good r.backs that wouldn't cost more than 1m
MPH Posted 12 January 2010 Posted 12 January 2010 any ideas who.......nielson  <_< It said NOT with the team. Nielsen is very much with the team....
