Guest Basildon Fox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Opinions are one thing but this Neilson thing smacks of bloodsportHe'll be aware of the witch hunt and I doubt it will improve his confidence There's other players in the team who aren't performing without the same levels of criticism But then there's always some supporters who need a scapegoat. I can only imagine it makes them feel better about themselves It reminds me of the Josh Low situation a few years ago. It's pathetic because he isn't nearly as nad as Low and tries his hardest in every game but he is cack.
Katy Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Hate Groups on Facebook? Some people have no sense of perspective....and they need to get out abit more. Welcome to you have 1 group invitation I hate Leicester City because our keeper is beaten from range far too often, the back 4 as a unit is jittery and it's distribution is woeful, center midfield is so easily over run that we have to deploy a third central player in a 'narrow' right position to help out, our left winger blows hot and cold for no obvious reason, our center forward is past his best and slowing down game by game (but if we play the long ball he has to play) and his partner is a one trick pony. Accept Ignore Goodness me, I had no idea these groups existed. I'm glad I haven't had an invite else someone would be getting a mouthful. I make no secret of the fact that I don't rate Neilson but I would never join some kind of hate group. Disgraceful.
breadandcheese Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 What's happened to football? It used to be that as long as the team gave 100% then you were happy to see a good competitive game. Yes, it is clear that as a Leicester supporter, we are never going to have the best team in the land and so just want to see 100% effort at all times. That way, if we get beat, it's because the other team is better and not because of lack of effort. Now it seems that unless we're winning every game with a Brazilian samba beat, there must be a problem, the players aren't good enough and there must be a scapegoat. Neilson made one mistake, as did much of the team at some point during the game. He did not shirk, he did not give less than 100% effort. Our defence is still fairly solid and one of the better aspects of the team. As long as Pearson keeps picking Neilson and he gives 100% effort and commitment, without shirking or hiding, then he has my support. I'm sure, in an ideal world, Pearson would buy Maicon to replace him, but then he'd also buy John Terry to replace Hobbs, Torres to replace Fryatt, etc. What anyone says, our current squad is a good squad at this level. Everyone is working hard and we are difficult to beat. We are top half and could finish in the play-offs. This thread is knee-jerk and stupid. The facebook group is personal and bullying. Some of our fans are absolute numpties.
Chrysalis Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Why is Robbie Nielson in the starting line up, he is well out of his depth and cost us a goal on Sunday, granted he can throw a ball but he was well off the pace and possibly in two seasons of seeing championship and league one football one of the worst right backs I have ever seen. I would rather Morrison shift to right back or bring back Kerrea Gilbert. How much did Hearts pay us to take him away from them, as this is the second crap right back the club has had off them. I did notice watching the game back on Sky + when i came back from the game, he gave away an uneccessary corner and the look of digust given to him from Wayne Brown and another player told me they equally thought he was crap!! He must be crap he lost his place over a year ago in the Scotland national team and they are about as good as Derby is he the one who lost the ball near the side of the pitch before they got it in the box? The one who was way nearer to the ball than the ipswich player who got it off him? if so I most defenitly agree with you as he also always takes too long to cross the ball as well. The problem I think tho is pearson hasnt got the cash to get a better replacement, what reason are we not using the same right back as last season?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Some people have no sense of perspective....and they need to get out abit more. It's true, dude, I really must

Callabinho Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Go on BBC website watch the highlights from the Ipswich game and watch the first Goal! ... and then decide whether he is good enough ! joking apart I could have done better than that ! its Nikos Dabizas all over again! Im not trying to be nasty but he just is not good enough !!

Im not trying to be nasty but he just is not good enough !! He is clearly a very limited player but the questions that really matter are; Can we get anyone better? Who is the biggest liability, Neilson or Brown. At this moment I would rather have Neilson at full back than Brown at center back, just my opinion!
Kilworthfox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 He is clearly a very limited player but the questions that really matter are;Can we get anyone better? Who is the biggest liability, Neilson or Brown. At this moment I would rather have Neilson at full back than Brown at center back, just my opinion! I don't understand the response in defence of Neilson that he is currently playing better than Brown. That is another issue surely? Brown has played poorly of late, but is has been all season with Neilson if we are to compare. The only thing that matters is, is the player good enough to wear the shirt. Now the Robbie Neilson group on facebook was started by me, if you actually look at what the group actually is then you would realise that there is no hate from me at all! I freely admit that he tries every game, but surely we can find someone from the Alliance who will try every week, it does not mean they are up to the standard of playing 2nd tier English professional football. I like Neilson's attitude he is a old school defender, but IMO he is not good enough. Brown certainly of late has shown some poor performances, but I do remember him having some good performances whilst playing for us. Let's get this 100% clear, I do not "hate" Robbie Neilson, just like I did not hate Tommy Wright or Chris O'Grady, because of the effort they put in, however when all is said & done they are not up to the job. It is pure frustration week in week out watching a player try, but still not meeting the required standard. I alluded to the fact that we are playing well we are 5th with games in hand! If we generally more solid over our weak points IMO Full back spots, then would we be aiming higher? I think so, I think we would have taken 3 points vs Ipswich even with a sub standard performance if these areas were filled with average players let alone good championship ones. I want the team to do well, 5th is great 2nd is wonderful but surely wanting to finish 1st is even better? My attitude at the start of the season was let's compete and not go down, now expectations have been risen because of the great effort & work at improving the team. It is for all to see where we are. I am a greedy supporter, I want us to win the league, I want us to be as successful as we can through merit. If I see a weakness, I will call it. I have watched football long enough to know who is & who is not a good player.
Sir Fynwy Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 You are looking in the wrong place if you want to get the team moving again, we are ok at the back for now, we need to sort the midfield first.
Kilworthfox Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 You are looking in the wrong place if you want to get the team moving again, we are ok at the back for now, we need to sort the midfield first. I think both need looking at to be honest. It is strange after years of terrible players & season that whilst we are 5th this conversation is happening, maybe we should be happy with our lot, but maybe we should endeavour to achieve? I would like LCFC give achieving it a go The midfield needs to keep it's solidarity whilst becoming more supportive down the wings and is there room for a defensive midfielder & dropping King? Wellens is an excellent player IMO yes it was a poor performance against Ipswich by his standards, but the way he uses the ball is wonderful to watch. Is Gradel defensive enough to warrant a place back at Leicester? NP does not think so.
Jimmy Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Wellens is all flicks and tricks but it never comes to anything, if 1 of them is to go then I think its him, King is at least chipping in with the odd goal
willchafer Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 its the mistakes that do it for me he hands them breaks going forward on a plate
El Furio Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 His long throw isn't actually that long and never actually comes to anything. He has no pace, positional sense, aerial ability or tackling prowess. By far the worst right back signing since Hossein Kaebi. Gilbert is not the answer. At times he looked out of sorts in League 1 so I don't think he'd cut the mustard in the Championship which is probably why we aren't going to sign him but Posh are. Posh are preparing for life back in League 1. We have to be looking for better than that. Not Morrisson though. As has been said, his best position is Centre Back, he was never a right back. He and Hobbs should be first choice centre backs with Berner at left back. Right back is a problem position and one that their isn't an obvious answer to. Gilbert as I said wouldnt be good enough, O'Neil isn't ready and Nielson is crap. What do people think the chances of us getting Stearman back on loan?
theboxman1986 Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Personally, I don't rate neilson but I wouldn't join said groups on facebook but as long as he is pulling on the shirt I will continue to support him. HOWEVER I would try changing the formation to 3-5-2 with my desired team being weale Hobbs Tunchev (when he's fit) or Brown Morrison N'Guessan Wellens Oakley King Dyer/Berner Howard/Waghorn/Kermo Fryatt/Gallagher Personally, I think we are lacking a defensive midfielder someone who can get tackles in which allows the other midfielders to create something. Question is who would we get in that position, I would like to say Wesolowski when his loan finishes but he is too injury prone. Which leaves us the option of looking in the transfer market but who?
l444ry Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 For fooks sake!! If all this negative nonsense is being spouted now, with the side in a play-off position, what would it be like if the team were under=performing? And if anyone thinks this team is under-performing then they don't deserve to be taken seriously. Only my opinion though!!!

Sods Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Wellens is all flicks and tricks but it never comes to anything, if 1 of them is to go then I think its him, King is at least chipping in with the odd goal The thing is with Wellens, is that I believe when the lad plays well we probably play are best stuff and we usually win when he plays well. If Wellens goes missing for a game, and has no impact until recently with Andy King's goals we have no other input from Midfield. Dyer is such a frustrating player as I believe he has the ability to be very important to us, Oakley sometimes contributes nothing other than poor corners. I sometimes wonder why N'Guessen is not getting a game but thats my only real moan.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Neilson is the best right back we've had in years.
Edmund Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 His long throw isn't actually that long and never actually comes to anything. That George Taft in the academy seems to have the best long throws in the club from what I've seen.

Edmund Posted 14 January 2010 Posted 14 January 2010 Will a limited player help you gain promotion? Stop just saying crap like that for the sake of it. At the end of the day we've just come up from league 1, we cant attract much better and he didn't cost us a penny. Have some patience for fucks sake.
