The Doctor Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Am i the only one who rates Robbie Neilson? Yes. Oh no, no, no. There's at least two of us... TBH i think he's a good player but i don't see why OneHorseVillage has attempted to turn this into another "we hate Robbie Neilson" thread. Think Solano would be a fairly good signing but he's not long left for the footballing world, if we get him in it would be better for just teaching Gradel, Oakley and Gallagher how to cross than actually playing him but is he likely to come if newcastle make an offer (seeing as he's supposedly been trialling with them too)
lcfcsnow Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 I can't tell you my contact, just trust me. Thanks for the info
CosbehFox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 If you look hard enough there are players like that around available for championship clubs. I don't think there is much of a talent pool. Players are more happy to sit on the bench in the Premiership getting £25k doing naff all than earning their sweded and s clearly shown by the tightness of the division, there isn't a team in the division blessed with a squad full of superstars and for that matter any player who jas stood out in the division has struggled to perform on a consistent basis in the Premiership ala Nugent etc.
hackneyfox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 If you look hard enough there are players like that around available for championship clubs. My point was that if we get promoted they may not be good enough for The Premier. Hence you get in a player to get you promoted and build a new squad for next season. I know that is far from perfect but you aren't going to go from third to Premier in two seasons and get promoted with a squad of young, gifted players who have played together for 2 seasons and who can hold their own in The Premier. I think you are being somewhat unrealistic in your expectations.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Seems like a good deal if he does come till the end of the season. Maybe with a view to a coaching role like Powell?
hackneyfox Posted 22 January 2010 Posted 22 January 2010 Fair enough, I just think there are players with far bigger futures ahead of them than Solano available. Apparently we have no money, hence my statement earlier that we are Leicester not Arsenal. All players have a bigger future ahead of them than Solano (who has until the end of the season) but he is coming in for one reason only. How much do you think these young players with far bigger futures would actually cost? Who would/could you sell to pay for them? Why would they come to us rather than Newcastle/WBA/Forrest or a lower Premier club?
