jimmer Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Everyone who started the Newcastle game merits a start in this game even Oakley and Gallagher. So i would like NP stick with the same side, but wouldn't mind Dyer/Solano/Kermo in if Pearson wants to make a change or two. Kermo is injured and solano is not quite match fit yet
marbelladave Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 WealeMorrison Hobbs Brown Berner Solano King Oakley N'Guessan Fryatt Gallagher Decent shout, though in my view Gallagher does not have the pace to play the wide role in this system. Still early days for this setup (if we continue with it) so I could easily be wrong. In Wellens absence I would continue with him in midfield, he did well second half on Saturday, and have all out pace on the flanks with N'Guessan and Waghorn, either side will do, though I marginally prefer N'Guessan to the left as he can easily interchange with Fryatt who naturally pulls out to the left when looking for space. Apart from their defensive duties when the must go wide and cover their full backs, the wide men need to remember that they are strikers not wingers and have to attack the box and support Fryatt. Before the sending off Waghorn stayed a bit too wide when we were in attack, he needs to get into the box.
marbelladave Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Ooooops.......Just seen the news about Waghorn, bummer! On a more positive note it looks like Pearson might actually continue with 4-3-3..... :fc: Looks like one of jimmer's selections then. I could be persuaded either way at the moment.

maddog Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 I had forgotten Wellens was suspended. I would have Solano, Oakley, King, Dyer in midfield if possible.
goose2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 after seeing the state of there pitch on wednesday night and waghorn having a slight injury (think it was his knee??) and how well the defence played last week, I think we will play a lot more long balls (more than normal!) so i am going to go with this Weale morrison, hobbs, brown, berner dyer, king, oakley, gallagher howard, fryatt Logan McGivern solano (just dont think he will be fit enough to start) Neilson n'guessan waghorn bruce
Rodders Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Did anyone suggesting we go back to a 4-4-2 actually watch the game last weekend?
Simo86 Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Did anyone suggesting we go back to a 4-4-2 actually watch the game last weekend? Well said Rodders

teblin Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 ------------Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner --------King Oakley -----------Gallagher N'guessan Dyer -------------Fryatt Think we have to go for 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation again.
Asha Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 I had forgotten Wellens was suspended.I would have Solano, Oakley, King, Dyer in midfield if possible. I can't see Solano being a regular starter at any point this season. I'd personally keep him as an impact sub. N'Guessan to start please
Leicfox Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Blackpool are without Brett Ormerod (Suspended), DJ (Loan conditions) and also might be without Dobbie (Wife heavily Preggars and 6 days overdue, if she goes into labour he wont play). Our team... Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner N'guessan King Oakley Gallagher Fryatt Waggy (If Fit)

Wasyls Pec Deck Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown BernerOakley King GallagherN'Guessan --------------------- DyerFryatt I like that a lot - I was going to suggets a similar approach. That framework looked good against Newcastle (for the first 30 mins I thought!), and todays going to be tough. C'mon City!
marbelladave Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown BernerOakley King GallagherN'Guessan --------------------- DyerFryatt This!..... From what we have available, that is easily the best call. Just tell the midfield to do pretty much what they did last weekend, stay fairly narrow, close down as a group and get forward when possible. They did it against Nolan, Smith and Butt, they can do it against Holloway's men. Keep the wide men well forward and get them to attack the box, don't stay wide when we have the ball, they get isolated as will Fryatt. Heading off in an hour or so, no not to the game, to the country for weekend with the family. No Sky, no internet, positively medieval, bit of 5 Live is the best I can hope for....
