iancognito Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Keep the starting XI from Newcastle, except change Wellens for Bruce. I doubt Bruce has come here to warm our bench otherwise he may as well have stayed at Ipswich, so I can't see Pearson doing anything other than play him from the start. Give Nobby a half hour run out when one of Jedward or NGuessan is (inevitably) under-performing. This is a pointless debate because Nige has no doubt got his own masterplan involving Fryatt on the bench, Yann & Big Steve up top and Nobby hugging the touchline providing endless crosses for the twin towers up front.
Dylan Posted 2 February 2010 Author Posted 2 February 2010 Keep the starting XI from Newcastle, except change Wellens for Bruce. Isnt Bruce a defender, and Wellens is a midfielder.

Is Gally not struggling for this game? thought he picked up an injury?
Joe. Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Weale Morrison --- Hobbs --- Brown --- BernerOakley --- King --- Gallagher (if not Solano)Waghorn --- N'GuessanFryatt
Bert Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 well its a toss of a coin over whose playing better him or Wellens plus Wellens is banned so there isn't any other option is there I'm sure you can still conjour up some wacky idea.
jimmer Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Isnt Bruce a defender, and Wellens is a midfielder. apparently he's comfortable at center mid aswel edit* Bruce that is!!
davieG Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 WTF Bruce in midfield where did that spring from, it's like deja fooking vu on here Kisnorbo in midfield all over again - I despair I really do!
davieG Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 apparently he's comfortable at center mid aswel They said that about Kisnorbo and according to almost every Ipswich poster he can't pass the ball!
jimmer Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 They said that about Kisnorbo and according to almost every Ipswich poster he can't pass the ball! Ok scrub that idea then.......who replaces wellens if we're to adopt the same formation as saturday?
davieG Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Ok scrub that idea then.......who replaces wellens if we're to adopt the same formation as saturday? Gallagher, he did in the second half. I guess if we get desperate Berner Or go back to 442 with Dyer & N'Guessan surely anything is better than a guy who not only doesn't normally play there but has only played one game all season.
jimmer Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 Gallagher, he did in the second half.I guess if we get desperate Berner Or go back to 442 with Dyer & N'Guessan surely anything is better than a guy who not only doesn't normally play there but has only played one game all season. I only mentioned it due to lack of options, especially if Gally doesn't make it. Fingers crossed hey! But now thinking about it........just the thought of Kissa in midfield has bought back unwanted memories!

Noooooooo! If Gallagher is not fit it clearly poses a problem.... Taxi for Adams?
Jimmy Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 I'm sure you can still conjour up some wacky idea. other then Ajdarevic, Verma or Burns we don't have any other central midfielders
dimmerchant Posted 2 February 2010 Posted 2 February 2010 other then Ajdarevic, Verma or Burns we don't have any other central midfielders Berner, Bruce and Gallagher all have the ability to play that role.
Messi Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs BernerGallagher Oakley King WaghornHoward Fryatt
marbelladave Posted 3 February 2010 Posted 3 February 2010 Weale Morrison Brown Hobbs BernerGallagher Oakley King WaghornHoward Fryatt Jesus........... Somebody put him straight, I can't be bothered to go through it all again... However if Gallagher is not fit then we are in deep poo and I am something at a loss. Reverting to 4-4-2 simply brings back all the usual problems, but who replaces Wellens / Gallagher? Adams would be my call but I doubt he will be recalled, Berner lets in McGivern which is horrifying to contemplate and I doubt the new boys are, as yet, up to the challenge. So for me it would have to be Dyer, not ideal but to my mind the best option. Switch Waghorn to the left of the front three with N'Guessan on the right.
Dylan Posted 4 February 2010 Author Posted 4 February 2010 Weale Morrison --- Brown --- Hobbs --- BernerKingSolano -------------------------- DyerFryatt ---- WaghornHoward If Gallaghers not fit. Not sure how good Bruce is, never seen him play, apart from the Ipswich game, but then he didn't have much to do cause the game was terrible. But if he's better than Brown, i'd put him in, even though Brown had a decent game on Saturday.
SirBlueFoxington Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I would go with.... Weale Morrison --- Hobbs --- Brown --- BernerN'Guessan --- Oakley --- King --- DyerWaghorn --- Fryatt
marbelladave Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Anyone have any news on the state of Gallagher's fitness. I have tried the usual news sites but there is nothing. Anyone...... :dunno:
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I've heard that the pitch at Bloomfield Rd is in a shocking state, so it might well be worth playing Howard up front, because its likely we wont be able to do much on the floor, so lets get the balls up to him and play wingers to feed crosses to him. My revised team: Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner N'Guessan Oakley King Dyer Fryatt Howard
dimmerchant Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Weale Morrison___ Hobbs___ Brown____ Berner Oakley____King____ Bruce Waghorn _________________ Gallagher Fryatt
maddog Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Everyone who started the Newcastle game merits a start in this game even Oakley and Gallagher. So i would like NP stick with the same side, but wouldn't mind Dyer/Solano/Kermo in if Pearson wants to make a change or two.

Somebody has to come in for Wellens. And Oakley and Gallagher were arguably the best players on the pitch on Saturday. N'Guessan and Dyer are hugely hit and miss but N'Guessan has more to offer in my opinion and I would prefer him in over Dyer, Solano or Kermo.
Ric Flair Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Weale Morrison Hobbs Brown Berner Solano King Oakley N'Guessan Fryatt Gallagher
jimmer Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Sounds like waghorn may be struggling now, but Gally should feature. LINK Swap N'guessan for waghorn if he's declared fit. Sounds like it could be something like this.... WealeMorrison--Hobbs--Brown--BernerOakley---King---Gallagher N'guessan------------------DyerFryatt Or Weale Morrison--Hobbs--Brown--PowellOakley---King---BernerN'guessan------------------GallagherFryatt
