hackneyfox Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 Jesus fooking christ!!!!! Sorry about swearing in front of the kiddywinks and dribblers.
maddog Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 There are 3 teams that will definitely finish above us, they are: Newcastle West Brom Forest. For us not to make the playoffs there will have to be 3 more teams all finish above us and who the fook will they be The more i think about it, the more i feel it's almost certain we will make the top six. I can't see 3 of Cardiff, Bristol City, Blackpool, Sheffield United, Swansea, Middlesbrough all finish above us. We've beaten 4 of those 6 teams this season already. It's impossible. We will finish 4th, 5th or 6th for certain for me.

Libertine Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I'd still be happy with top 10 to be honest, though I think we should do a bit better than that. We'd be a lot stronger next season after bringing in a few and a challenger for automatic if we iron out a few little problems. S'about building and shit maaaan.
davieG Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 The way this league and LCFC is shaping up I'd sooner not look beyond the next game, who would put their house on us winning it or any other game we have left - I wouldn't, and I wouldn't put it on us losing either.
Fox You Forest Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 The way this league and LCFC is shaping up I'd sooner not look beyond the next game. It's the best way.
Aeropars Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 It makes me laugh you know, some people i spoke to was very negative about what would happen if we got promoted. They say our squad isnt good enough ect but what a load of tripe. If we went up we would have done on merit. That means we hav a decent enough squad to get out this league and it also means we have a real opportunity to build on that and stay in the premier. Even if we got out asses spanked week en week out it would be very good for the club financiall. Prachute patments and additional revenue to put back into the squad. I'm all for it.
Donut Posted 4 February 2010 Posted 4 February 2010 I dont think promotion is on the agenda. Id say if we did get promoted, i think youd be looking at :- 1) a new left back 2) a new right back 3) more centre back cover 4) a solid midfield ball winner 5) an out and out right winger 6) Probably two more strikers the rebuilding would be on a massive scale in my opinion

I want our team to get promotion. I just dont think we'd have the funding to sustain it even if we did. Were probably still paying Lineker, Heskey and Co back from the last time they bailed us out. If we stay up this season i'll be happy. I just dont get these people who think promotion is the be all and end all for our club. Even these people who are saying theyd be anoyed if we finished outside the top ten need a serious reality check. If we stay up our team has done well, it's as simple as that.

There are the likes of Hobbs, Morrison and Fryatt who may be able to hjack it at some point in the future but that is it. However, anybody who thinks promotion is a bad thing for the club is ridiculous. How can your team being in the top division pitting their wits against Man Utd, Arsenal etc. be a bad thing? I want to see my team doing as well as possible. Financially it would be a godsend to the club too.

Even these people who are saying theyd be anoyed if we finished outside the top ten need a serious reality check. If we stay up our team has done well, it's as simple as that. Looking at some of the poor teams in this division and given our excellent start, even if it was on the back of a promotion season, I think finishing outside the top 10 will be a disappointment. Having said that, I feel we all would have been happy with a solid mid table position before the season had started but given the modest quality of this division (outside the top3), I think we can genuinely hope for a little better. Regarding promotion, if your not looking to get promoted why are we playing? We need promotion as soon as we can get it, take the money, strengthen our club and our team and if we do not stay up, take the parachute payments and do it again, and again, and again until we are strong enough to stay up. The most difficult thing in that scenario is managing expectations, the club must set budgets that strengthen the club and not spend every penny on players, but at the same time build the squad towards genuine Premier League standard. Explain this to the supporters and let them know how the club is being taken forward step by step, it's not bloody rocket science, just decent management.
Zingari Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 it's got to happen it's part of the 3 year plan no point having a plan if you don't stick to it fools
The Doctor Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 it's got to happen it's part of the 3 year plan no point having a plan if you don't stick to it fools exactly. Milan hasn't come out in public with a revised plan so we're in the 3rd and final year of this plan.
lcfc_sam_p Posted 5 February 2010 Posted 5 February 2010 Promotion would not be a bad thing, for the same reasons as other people have mentioned..money, playing at the highest level etc etc. Alot of people have said our squad isn't good enough, i said exactly the same about hull, burnley, stoke, wolves, birmingham for example. However they are all competing. The most important things are team spirit and getting it right tactically. You can't hope for us not to be promoted, its ridiculous. Also i think we could compete with alot of teams in the premiership, the ones already mentioned plus the likes of bolton, blackburn, west ham, fulham.
