MikeyT Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 That was a nervous last 5 mins! My stream froze slightly just as the Adam ran into the box. Came back on and saw the ref booking someone then realised it was Adam - my heart went back to where it should be! Bit debatable but given the shoddy decisions last week this is justice in some ways. Why did he bring Howard on aswell for Gally? We were doing nicely on the break and had the 5 in the middle which was working. It was the same against Newcastle and we were struggling at the end slightly.Anyhoo, a great win for us and good start to this long month! Nice to see our wingers getting some goals and was pleased with the chances we created. A good display away from home. They did have a lot of chances to score but for some awesome saves from Weale! Must also pay credit to those our fans who made the trip - we were noisy most of the game by the sounds of it - although not sure about that flare being let off when we made it 2-0! Indeed, sounded like he had a great game and kept us in it.
samjohnson Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Heart went into my mouth when that blackpool player went down in the box near the end... Bit lucky to get away with that taking into fact that Wellens got a yellow for it last week.. But that was Andre Mariner.. Well earned 3 points in my opinion.
milan_foxes Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Stringer towards the end... "BLATANT DIVE, BLATANT BLATANT BLATANT DIVE!" He couldnt get over that it was such a "blatant" dive.
ousefox Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Another shocking referee. An amazingly agonizing 5 minutes of added time.Silly goal to concede. Two great goals from our lads. Wish the strikers would've performed a little bit better, particularly Fryatt. Waghorn had a great shot saved. Two games in hand against our close opposition in the league. We got it in our own hands to seek consolidation in the playoff race. Well done to the team. All in all, a great effort from everyone. Looking forward to the Doncaster home game now. That's all I have to say. I didn't think the ref did a lot wrong today to be honest, he got most of his decisions right. I don't know why your complaining about Fryatt. He set up Dyer's goal well and did well holding it up at the end.
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 http://www.skysports.com/football/league/0...0,11687,00.html Table looking a lot better now.
Daveaway Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 thank god we won that, my net went tits up in Baghdad anyone got a link showing the goals!!
milan_foxes Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Thinking about it, Donny & S****horpe the next 2 games, there winable so 6 more points hopefully on the board by next sunday.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Great win! Looking forward to seeing Dyer and N'guessans goals. Decent in Defence. Excellent last few games. 4 points from Top of league and Playoff contenders, Who could ask for more?

Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 4 points from Top of league What have you been smoking?
Corky Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 What have you been smoking? He added "and play-off contenders", meaning Blackpool as well as Newcastle.
ousefox Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Great win!Looking forward to seeing Dyer and N'guessans goals. Decent in Defence. Excellent last few games. 4 points from Top of league and Playoff contenders, Who could ask for more? More like 17!
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 He added "and play-off contenders", meaning Blackpool as well as Newcastle. That doesn't make sense? We are in the play offs so how can we be 4 points from play off contenders? I'm sure he mis read the table as we're 14 points from 2nd not 4
philce Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Stringer towards the end... "BLATANT DIVE, BLATANT BLATANT BLATANT DIVE!"He couldnt get over that it was such a "blatant" dive. Looked like a pen to me, would have been harsh though... We will have to see what Manish and Stevie have to say later.

I'm sure he mis read the table as we're 14 points from 2nd not 4 No, he means we've taken four points from the team top of the league and a play-off contender in the last two games.
Jordan Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Cliché, yes, but those were massive three points City just won.

sdb Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 we've taken 4 points off two high flying teams he means (i think) good win, unlucky ollie. pooed myself silly with that penalty shout. looked a pen to me at 1st. bbc commentator said blackpool bossed it from 1st to last. bit harsh considering we could've scored 4 or 5 away from home. 2 big games now but if complacency kicks in we'll get nothin. N'guessaen always looks so good out on the left, and Waggy and Fryatt on form are a pain to play against. Good game Weale but still the odd error of judgement with coming for balls. Should've saved the goal too. anyway - get in!
Edmund Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 No, he means we've taken four points from the team top of the league and a play-off contender in the last two games. Meant point's we've taken from the 2 games mate Haha my bad. Makes sense now.

I'm sure he mis read the table as we're 14 points from 2nd not 4 nah he was referring to the fact that , in the last two matches, we've picked up 4 points against the team top of the league & a team that are contenders for the play-offs Edit: Damn, Too slow.
orangecity23 Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Very happy with the result and performance, Blackpool were always going to have a big threat going forwards, and we dealt with it well, all their chances came from outside the box. Some great counter attacking from us well, Danny was superb today. He's a real rough diamond, on form he's virtually unplayable. And he's made a real goal contribution too, think he's our second highest scorer now, which is very impressive considering he's playing on the wing and has had limited appearances.

Billy_Velvetone Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Brilliant win, squeaky bum time towards the end though. Great to be back in the top six after two very good performances, and with some winnable games on the horizon we can really put some distance between us and other play-off chasers. Top stuff
flanimal Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 The formation worked well for us. A bit of pace makes the difference, finally Nigel Pearson knows Oakley is not a winger! We were the better team, and deserved the win, but, for me, that could've been a penalty. He went down too easily, and it was sort of delayed - however, N'Guessan did push him aside, which is pretty silly. Regardless of N'Guessan's strange decisions at times, that guy really adds something to the line-up. There were moments in that game where he was simply too big, strong and quick to be stopped. He could really turn into a really good player.
