Matt Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Gotta say last week I thought the foul and yellow-card was harsh on Wellens (First yellow fair enough but not for the second 'foul') but after seeing the highlights i'd say Blackpool deserved a penalty and it was almost indentical if not worse than what Wellens did last week, If I was a Blackpool fan i'd be seriously pissed off with the referee, but i'm not and i'm very happy the referee was favouring us for once. I wonder if DB11 will critisise and is disappointed in this referee for not giving the penalty?
Shrenchel Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 On my way back to London after the match, great result and thoroughly deserved 3 points. Our back 4 were immense, as was N'Guessan. City fans really didn't seem to get going at all round where I was, not sure whether the lack of an actual enclosed stand had owt to do with it but hey ho, still a quality result Blackpool fans seem to think we were the best fans that have been there all season. When there's no roof though, where you are really makes a difference. Couldn't make it today but last time the right hand side was buzzing whereas the left was like a morgue. I imagine any singers that were there last time as well would have bolted towards the right.

Yeah the right hand side seemed more animated, I was stuck on the half way line but even from there I didn't hear a great deal. Hard to get owt going in the middle despite any efforts by myself and a few around
lildave3 Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Superb day, we played pretty decent. Bruno was excellent as ever, Wayne was at his determined best and Weale made some cracking saves. Fryatt should have bagged at least one but at least he kept going and set up the second goal.
Mikey Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Great result against a decent side. Thought Morrison was brilliant once again, as was Bruno and Brown. Thought King put in a good shift as well. The day was simply epic. Loved the celebrations for both goals, .
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 I liked the team selection Well done Nigee !
lou Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Great day out and it didnt rain! The right side was deffo the place to be and the atmosphere was good. Thought we were somewhat fortunate to get the 3 points a draw would probably have been the fair result but who gives a shit about fair?! Ref was brilliant to us but Id have been furious if Id been a Blackpool fan - penno looked like a Pen from the telly but its about time we got some luck! Getting stuck on the M1 going home was the only negative was bloody knackered by the time I got back! Hope those that stayed over had a great weekend!
Corky Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 On the highlights it did look a penalty, so I have some sympathy with Blackpool (but not too much).
C-man Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 It's about time we had some luck with regards to refereeing decisions. We should have had penalties at Swansea, Cardiff and Barnsley and even at home to Newcastle. Anyway, loved Lloyd's goal. The pace he showed for it was sensational. If that was Rooney then we would see it every day for the rest of the week. Classic counter-attacking. Reminded me of his goal at Northampton last year. N'Guessan took his goal well and I don't know how Waghorn and Fryatt missed their chances but 2 was clearly enough Weale looked immense. Well done to those that went, a deserved victory for you!

Said the same thing just as it went in, 'twas a beauty!
Cropwellfox Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 I liked the team selection Well done Nigee ! Maybe at last we've found the formation to suit the squad we've got - Gallagher has stepped up considerably in the last two games, Oakley is playing in the area of the field he's more effective in too. Would be good to see us stick with this for a few games and not panic and abandon it the first time things don't go as well as they could...

We should stick with this and run with it, the formation is maximizing the potential of the likes of Oakley and Gallagher as you say. I hope we are unchanged for Tuesday's game.
Jordan Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 That Telegraph article is such a hack job. I saw plenty of the game on TV and just watched the highlights, and there was absolutely no way Fryatt was that bad. In fact, when he tried to bundle it home from one yard out following the corner and his shot was cleared off the line, I think his shot may have actually crossed the line.
Fox You Forest Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Loved, it had an absolutely brilliant time, Weale and Dany were quality. Was in the portatoilet somking at halftime and this guy was in there and earlier in the day he'd bought some joke fags but forgot and lit one up when he got halfway down it went up like a sparkler. Ha! I need a shave.

Guest ttfn Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 The TelegraphDidn't know we were playing against Blackpool in Ipswich. I'm pretty sure one of the chances referred to was missed by Waghorn? I thought Fryatt did ok from what I saw on the stream, wasn't really a lot more he could do with the one in the scramble and the header was a tricky chance.
Jordan Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Ahhhhh that last 5 minutes was horrible.Back scoring and a win let's push things forward. I love how there are a few raised fists in that photo; it looks like there's tear gas at an anti-G8 rally :city:
Scow Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 After looking back at the highlights, I didn't realise we created that many clear-cut chances. I was impressed with Blackpool; I thought they played some excellent football and caused us problems all game. That Dobbie looks a useful player and I'm surprised he wasn't getting in the Swansea team. We played the counter-attacking tactic very well, but Blackpool could probably count themselves unlucky not to get anything out of the game. N'Guessan's goal was a terrific finish, especially given it was on his weaker foot. He does remind me of a raw Heskey; he could be a cracking player in a few years time. What a difference Berner makes - he instills much more confidence in the back four. Cool, calm and collected. Best left back in the league. We've got a great opportunity to pick up six points from the next two home games - we could be in a great position come next Saturday.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Best away game in a long time! Defended well, attacked well, good atmosphere everything. Great win and a great day.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Chris Weale got rated 10 and MOTM in the Sunday People. He did very well yesterday. I was most impressed by the way we managed so survive the constant pressure from Blackpool in periods during the game. The whole team worked so hard to defend the lead, and we showed that we are a counter-attacking force, and it's brilliant!
Trav Le Bleu Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Stringer towards the end... "BLATANT DIVE, BLATANT BLATANT BLATANT DIVE!"He couldnt get over that it was such a "blatant" dive. Which, ahem, having watched The Football League Show, it wasn't, but we deserve the rub of the green for a change. Pleased with the win though, plenty of chances, Weale is a hero (best City keeper since Walker?), but where was Solano? Not even on the bench. Just curious really cos we don't seem to need him.
Leicfox Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 but where was Solano? Not even on the bench. Just curious really cos we don't seem to need him. He's been kidnapped by the Uruguayan mafia. NP is yet find out, last he heard was that Nobby had nipped out for a few Cebiche.
Fosse Boy Posted 7 February 2010 Posted 7 February 2010 Just got back to Colchester after one of the most epic away days/weekends I've ever been lucky enough to have experienced. Absolutely worth every mile I travelled and every penny I spent. Special mentions to everyone in flare block, especially the geezer in front of me who bummed the fuck out of Wallace & Gromit. Not gonna lie, I've looked more glmorous in my time. Pity they didn't take one while I had my top off...
