Hitesh Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 cos gallagher had cramp according to stringer It looked like he had cramp after the decision was made. Either way, still a strange choice to bring him on because it disrupted our shape I felt from what I saw.
orangecity23 Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 and, if people want to be pessamistic, shows how poor our attack has been this season. I don't think it's just us though, this season has seen lots of goals from midfield all over the championship. Chopra is the only other striker apart from Fryatt in the top scorer list, and I suppose you could argue that the combined 7 goals from Waghorn and Howard (Fryatts most frequent partners) isn't awful. Think we'll see more goals from Waggy if we keep up this formation too.
00rawat Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Haha my bad. Makes sense now. Was quite funny how he made a slight mistake and everyone jumps on him.
Joe. Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Absolutely delighted with that, big result for us. We really needed to get back to winning ways today, and to do it against a team right in around us makes it even better. Decent game by the sounds of things, decent performance for the most part and most importantly, three points.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Was quite funny how he made a slight mistake and everyone jumps on him. My reputation on the forum at the moment would be one of giving Maddog competiton for the "Biggest Devil's Advocate 2010" award. I think Hobbs should be praised more, nearly every game he's been excellent.
dandannieldanok Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Anyone know where Nobby was today? Don't know, but does anyone really care? We don't need Solano.

maddog Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Fantastic win, great three points. All of a sudden, 2 winnable home games coming up, 2 wins, and we will have one or two fingers on that playoff place. Can we get those 2 home wins, lets hope so.
Leicfox Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Just got in.. We played well and kept our shape, hitting Blackpool on the break. Thought Blackpool were a decent outfit but we restricted their chances to mostly long range efforts. Blackpool could make a case for a peno as it looked nailed on to me, i'll check it out later though...Got to love Sky+. But for now, im in shower, changed and back out...
Koke Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Blackpool 1 Leicester City 2: match reportRead a full match report of the Championship game between Blackpool and Leicester City at Portman Road on Saturday Feb 06 2010. Despite seeing his Leicester City side move into the Championship's play-off places with their first league win of 2010, striker Matty Fryatt will probably have nightmares when he reflects on this match. The ex-Walsall man missed three glorious chances, any one of which the crowd of 8,484 would have been disappointed not to score. Instead, Leicester had to rely on Dany N'Guessan's first league goal since September, a neatly taken left-footed finish after just 15 minutes, and substitute Lloyd Dyer's tap-in. Fryatt would be well advised to offer his goalkeeper, Chris Weale, a pint after he brilliantly denied the lively Stephen Dobbie on three occasions and Keith Southern once. “I'm not bothered about that,” said Nigel Pearson, the Leicester manager. “I thought he showed a lot of energy in the second half. If he's not scoring them, providing them is great. Happy days.” Weale tipped a ferocious Dobbie shot onto the bar after just ten minutes before palming away another effort on 20. Sandwiched in between was 22 year-old N'Guessan's sixth of the season. The Frenchman cushioned a ball over the Blackpool defence with his head before slotting a left-footed effort in off the right-hand upright.. Then Fryatt missed the first of his three chances from well inside the six-yard box when Alex Baptiste made the block on the line after 35 minutes. In the opening six minutes of the second period he headed over from six yards out before side-footing against the legs of Matt Gilks from an identical distance. Weale later palmed away a Southern header - and he did the same with a Dobbie drive from distance. Dyer made the game safe 13 minutes from time when he tapped home Fryatt's right-wing cross. At least there was something to cheer up the unfortunate striker. There were a few nervy moments, including loud shouts for a penalty, after Dobbie rattled home what proved to be a consolation just two minutes from time. “They'll be scratching their heads as to how they've not got something out the game,” continued Pearson. “If they defend the same way they attack, they'd be top of the league. “We had a little bit of fortune towards the end, but we deserved it.. We've had some horrific decisions go against us.” After seeing Charlie Adam booked for diving in the box, Blackpool manager Ian Holloway fumed: “That's just the way things are going for us. I thought it was, but the man who matters didn't.” The Telegraph Didn't know we were playing against Blackpool in Ipswich.
Joe. Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 I don't care what anybody says, N'Guessan is such a valuable player to this squad. He's still only 22 as well, the potential is still very much present for more consistency.
Sylvie85 Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 The TelegraphDidn't know we were playing against Blackpool in Ipswich. Wondered why i was the only one there in a Leicester shirt, felt like a right knob! Great result today, massive three points, if we can win our next two games we have to be in with a shout.

Good to see Dyer proving a point aswell.
Guest Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 On my way back to London after the match, great result and thoroughly deserved 3 points. Our back 4 were immense, as was N'Guessan. City fans really didn't seem to get going at all round where I was, not sure whether the lack of an actual enclosed stand had owt to do with it but hey ho, still a quality result
purpleronnie Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Their fans seem to think the leicester fans were pretty good which is nice to read, except one who said that the leicester fans and I quote 'they were the biggest gobbyXXXXXXs to visit Bloomers this season'.
StanSP Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 That Telegraph report, do they want to press on how many chances Fryatt missed any more? It's like they have some kind of vendetta against him. Anyway, fuck it. We won. Needed it. Played lads
Legend_in_blue Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 From the hit and miss stream, N'Guessan, Dyer and Gallagher looked extremely good. The back four was solid. The penalty decision, had it been us, I'd have gone flippin' mad at that decision. So, luck was with us today. It wasn't last week, so it's a case of swings and roundabouts. IH though made me laugh. Serves him right. Not a point from us this season. Go back to your chickens you silly man.

From what I saw of the Penalty shout on Iraqgoals channel 2 it was almost identical to Wellens second yellow last week, player went past N'Guessan had his hand on his shoulder and he went down like he had stood on a landmine. Last week Wellens got a second yellow this week the player going down got booked Not that I'm moaning I'm more than happy he didn't give it
Guest Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 Great result, considering the pitch looked awful. I'm saying nothing about the penalty, except that I feared the worst. And it didn't rain on us!!
Dylan Posted 6 February 2010 Posted 6 February 2010 How many match ban is a double-yellow sending off?... Just the one, or 3?
