JimmyK Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Stewart Downing. Would that count as a surprise?
sdb Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Etherington and Johnson (if he plays well regularly) deserve a chance in the next friendly. Warnock or Baines as 2nd choice LB. R Johnson and Shawcross should both be future internationals but WC coming too soon imo.
The Doctor Posted 12 February 2010 Posted 12 February 2010 Gianni Zuiverloon isn't he dutch? Who cares, you're not going to win - all the english players are arrogant pricks who care more about using their fame as an excuse to assult people, nail each others wives and cheat on their own wives than playing for their country.

Big Ol' Bob Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Scott Parker. Everytime I see him for West Ham on MOTD or a game on sky he is named MOTM, yet never gets a look in for England. A solid player to take too, wears his heart on his sleeve.

Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 13 February 2010 Posted 13 February 2010 Can't see there being many surprises. I'd take Warnock over Baines as back up / a replacement for Cole.

SOCCERROO FOX Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 .....and Scottish players are just plain shite. Except Gallagher of course
Simo86 Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Aaron Ramsey He's already made his full international debut for Wales
General Smuts Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 CATTERMOLE. Would love to see this. Jimmy Bullard Craig Gardener Gabby Agbonlahor All outside possibilities IMO.
shen Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 He's already made his full international debut for Wales [Dave-Pundit] Shame. What a quality player he is too. Craig Bellamy then! [/Dave-Pundit]
The Doctor Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 .....and Scottish players are just plain shite. we always accepted that though. We're not deluded enough to think we'll win the world cup, just enough to think we have a chance of qualification.
Brainy Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 we can win the world cup though, a) because we actually make it there and b) we have the players capable of winning it. c) we just usually don't win it.
The Doctor Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 we can win the world cup though, b) we have the players capable of winning it. Ability wise - Yes. Mentality wise - No. I look foward to your eventual penalty shoot-out based elimination and the entire nation whinging about how unlucky england were when winning a shoot-out requires only the slightest bit of luck, more the ability to keep it together under pressure and strike a ball with conviction and accuracy when few to none of your players can manage more than one/two of these.
Donut Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 I guess it depends on your definition of 'surprise' I doubt very much were going to be taking anyone without at least a moderate experience of the england set up, its simply not the time nor place to be putting these players in (injuries betweenn now and may permitting) In terms with players of limited experience, id say based on his consistent impressive performances this season, Joe Hart would be a great addition in the keeper department Not sure about Adam Johnson, although he has made a meteoric rise I like Stephen Warnock, i think he could be a dependable squad player In the centre of the park, purely as cover, Scotty Parker maybe?
Uncle Albert Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Jimmy Bullard if he made it into the World Cup squad then it would be a shambles and Craig Gardener. Scott Parker is a good shout and would probably be the 4th choice centre mid for me, if he takes 7 midfielders then he has got some big picks to make BUT will Capello take an extra striker or midfielder?

Probably use Walcott as both. Although we all know he just isn't a midfielder...
dandannieldanok Posted 15 February 2010 Posted 15 February 2010 Probably use Walcott as both. Although we all know he just isn't a midfielder... Unless Walcott improves rapidly from now until the end of the season I hope he doesn't go. He's been living off that one performance in Croatia for far too long now. Emile Heskey getting picked would be a personal surprise of mine, but I don't want to open that can of worms again.
