Weale 8 - Great performance but please sort out the kicking.

Berner 7 - Solid but it must have been very close to a sending off for the first half tackle as he looked last man from the City end

Morrisson 8 - Looked good and nearly scored again

Hobbs 8 - Solid

Brown 8 - Immense in protecting the win. Amazing how often the ball ends up with him...and then we all close our eyes and pray!!

Dyer 7 - Frightened their defence first half and good helping defence in 2nd.

Solano 6 - some nice touches but looked unfit and no surprise when subbed. Probably best on bench and then used as an impact player for last 20 -30 mins

King 7 - Had a couple of good chances when City on top. Worked hard to help defence in the second half.

Wellens 7 - One of his better games. Obviously up for it on his return to Doncaster

N'Guessan 6 - Did not have the same impact as Lloyd.

Waghorn 8 - Great goal as he had a lot to do once he got the ball. Worked his socks off and always an outlet for the team.

Ghallagher 7

Adams 7

Great win and should have been more comfortable had we taken early chances. Played too deep second half and usual nail-biting finish. Will have to play better against Forest to get revenge for the thrashing earlier in the season.

Gallagher 6

Adams 7 - Nice to see him back in the team. Comfortable on the ball and a couple of neat passes.

Weale 9 Outstanding, especially last 15 minutes. The poor kicks were because he had to aim for Gallagher by the touchline from goal kicks as no one else up top was going to win it from a goal kick

Morrison 7 Solid enough

Berner 8 Again, very consistent

Hobbs 8 Won everything

Brown 8 Also won everything. His type of game

Solano 6 Undoubtedly classy, but looked a yard off the pace

King 8 Mops up in front of the back 4 superbly. One defence splitting pass on the counter to Adams late on was fantastic

Wellens 8 Well up for it, Snarled his way through the game, got at them

N'Guessan 7 Not at his best. Would like to see him get a run up top

Dyer 8 Always a threat, showing very consistent form

Waghorn 8 Lovely finish, had the tiny centre back in fits every time the ball was played up to him

Gallagher 6 Almost cost us when he lost possession late on

Adams 7 Squandered a great opportunity for a killer cross, but generally looked lively

Cold cold night, but nice stadium (for a modern identikit ground) and a very solid performance

Weale 8 - Great performance but the kicking lets him down.

Berner 8

Morrison 8

Hobbs 9 - Awesome

Brown 8 - Solid but Hobbs cleans more up. Passing from Brown is rubbish but hey ho, he is only a defender.

Dyer 7 - Frightened their defence with his pace. Could beat Chambers all day.

Solano 6 - Not fit, poor first touch for one chance when Sullivan came out of goal. Good range of passing though but overall to slow.

King 7 - Had two good chances when we were on top.

Wellens 8 - Stuck in constantly, good range of passing, sat in well.

N'Guessan 6 - Inconsistant.

Waghorn 8 - Great goal, showed his strength and finishing attributes'. Always going to be a danger with his pace.

Gallagher 7

Adams 5 - Offers nothing. Some poor balls at times, why do people even want him to start?

____________

The Keepmoat Stadium - Awesome.

Doncaster Rovers Fans' - Not very loud.

Last night wasn't his best game, but we'd given up on attacking by that point. Most times I've seen him, he's offered a spark that's livened up a dead match. I wouldn't start him, purely because I think he plays better hungry, but he'd make my bench almost every game.

I don't get it...?

I was just saying that you wouldn't know Brown was having a great game from the people around me. Every time he had the ball people had to moan about his clearances going to a Doncaster player, despite the heroics he was performing to stop them from equalising.

Ah I get you, well the vast majority of Leicester fans are idiots so its surprises me immensely.

Pleased to see Dyer doing well in his more advanced role. He's pretty much useless when he starts with the ball on the halfway line, but by the sounds of things he's looking quite dangerous as part of the front three these days.

Very frustrating player for me, I hope he continues to thrive there.

Weale - 8

A couple of decent stops. He's being instructed to kick out wide, so inevitably some will go out for throws in those terrible conditions. F ucking moronic fans.

Morrison - 8

He gives that reassurance to the right back role that Neilson doesn't. Stuck to his task well. Should have scored though - had two great chances with close range headers from corners.

Hobbs - 8

Rock solid - he always seems to be in the right position and makes some crucial interceptions.

Brown - 8

Forget the distribution, he wasn't getting much help there. Like Hobbs, he's just a pure defender who puts his body on the line.

Berner - 8

Another early booking but coped well. Just has that bit of nous at times.

Wellens - 6

Harsh rating maybe, but like I said in the post-match thread, he didn't appear to be making much of a contribution off the ball.

King - 7

Worked extremely hard to compensate for Wellens' walkabouts. He didn't unnecessarily dive in to win the ball and made it difficult for players to bypass him.

Solano - 6

Started off very well and was central to some slick football for the first 20 minutes. Became a bit lost once we went ahead and invited Donny on to us.

N'Guessan - 6

One of his 'cold' days - gets himself into good positions but failed to deliver.

Dyer - 8

Had the better of Chambers and used his pace well. His work rate was outstanding - a part of his game which isn't really recognised by the fans.

Waghorn - 7

Well taken goal, using his strength to get him into that position in the first place. Became more isolated as the game wore on but still could have added a second.

Subs:

Adams - 6

Wasted one great chance from a counter attack when King slipped him though. Other than that, he wasn't really involved.

Gallagher - 6

Like Adams, didn't really get on the ball, though he worked back to defend well.

Weale: 9- Very composed and several good saves/ rushing out. Goal kicks weren't good in second half.

Morrison: 7- Did his job, not outstanding but solid. Offered nothing going forward.

Hobbs: 9- Outstanding, a real rock and stoof firm of night.

Brown: 7.5- Good defensively but his passing is laughable at times, hence why he is marked down.

Berner: 7.5- Played pretty well, offered a bit going forward but looked tired towards the end.

Wellens: 7.5- One of his better games, good closing down throughout the game.

King: 7- Missed a couple of good chances.

Solano: 6.5- some great passing but just too slow atm.

Dyer: 7.5- Always a threat, never stops running.

N'Guessan: 6.5- Threatened at times and his delivery wasn't too bad but in and out of the game too much.

Waghorn: 8- Good composure for goal, never stops running. Unlucky not to get second.

How Many Bookings is that now? he must be close to a ban

So looks like Nobby should be used as an impact player then?

Yes I'd say so, can't see him playing 90 minutes on too many occasions and he has some quality on the ball which we could use late on.

Did not get to the game so can't join in the fun. Just read the thread, so I thought I would have my half pen'orth about Brown.

My comments are based on Brown's play this season, I have seen over 20 of our games so I think I am entitled.

Brown is very typical of a series of center backs we have had at Leicester, most recently McCauley and Kisnorbo. He can always be relied on to give 100% and never steps back from confrontation, he is immense in the air and can, on occasion lift the whole team by his commitment and effort.

On the other hand he lacks pace and can be easily exposed by quick opponents, he often drops too deep dragging the whole of the back 4 with him which in turn pulls our midfield deep leaving the opposition in control of midfield. To be fair this is not all Brown's fault by any means but as the experienced man at the back he should be doing all he can to stop this happening.

His distribution is woeful, even when not under pressure, to me this is crucial as it does no more than return the ball quickly to the opposition, so we end up on the defensive for long spells. Again he is not the only one guilty of this but I feel he is the worse offender.

So depending on the game, Brown can be an absolute rock, defending with skill and tremendous physical presence. On other occasions he can be a liability, particularly against pace and when we are under pressure his wayward distribution does nothing to lift the siege.

So take your pick, all 3 comments are true, just decide which you think is most important.
