My Dad knew him (not in the same way as your Nan, obviously...) and he also said he was miserable. Actually, what he said was "a bit of a mardy so and so, who thought being brooding made him God's Gift to women". And no, it wasn't my Dad being jealous. My Dad had a lot of attention as the women thought he looked like Billy Fury, who was apparently a bit of a heart throb in those days.

Muslim families tend to have a couple more kids than christian families, yes?

So Catholic families don't tend to be big? Or more affluent families?

It's a crap analogy. Think about it, and give me one good reason why I shouldn't delete. The only reasons I haven't so far is to a) let you explain, and b) let others see what a crap analogy it is.

Edited as didn't mean to be rude.

What? That wasnt a joke. Chavs have loads of babies, yes? Muslim families tend to have a couple more kids than christian families, yes? Brighton is more middle-class white than most cities in the uk, there is much less of a multi-cultural society. Which is why there is a lower than average birth rate.

And their was me thinking you were going to say the reason was because the women are to busy munching on carpet and the men prefer icing the Christmas cake.

What? Why would you delete it even if it's wrong? Is it somehow rude or offensive? What strange moderating.

It's just my thoughts on why Brighton has a lower birth rate. There are less of the cultures you see in other cities that tend have more heads per family. You guys are awfully hostile. :dunno:

You have brought up generalised stereotyping that might be construed as borderline racism. At the very least, it is flagrant ignorance. Why not go the whole hog and throw in the large gay community? dunno.gif

The reason's for Brighton's low birth rate could be down to a number of reasons. I appreciate that you might have made a flippant comment with very little thought, but I am Admin, and I have to think of how posts might be perceived by people, including the hypersensitive.

My actual point was that not much procreation goes on in Brighton for other very basic reasons that Brighton is renowned for.

I'm not going to explain it. If you know, you know and if you don't then it's probably not going to help much explaining it.

And that is post number 3000 for me... wish it had been more relevant!

Who the fook are diesel park west?!

They were really poor and up their own.

No mention of Gaye Bykers On Acid or Crazyhead eventhough they had top 20 hits unlike Diesel park west. Or Showaddywaddy. Why even mention Diesel Park West is beyond me.

Is it because they wrote the music, I can't recall that Showaddywaddy wrote anything and that's what the table is all about.Having said that i don't think Englebert did and he got a mention, but this is the Merc and they are to General News what Lcfc OS is to Lcfc news.

It was only Last week that the Fun loving criminals did a small warm up Gig at The Donkey on Welford Road.

Pretty impressive, really. Even considering their contacts.
