FOX_TROT_07 Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I don't want to jump the gun here but if we got promoted who do you think would be guaranteed a starting spot in the prem as many clubs make allot of changes once promoted. I think the only guaranteed places would be Chris Weale Jack Hobbs Bruno Berner possibly Richie Wellens and Andy King I think many other players could cut it in the prem but not necessarily guaranteed a place.
Ashley Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Weale, Hobbs, Morrison(maybe), Berner, Fryatt, Wellens
FOX_TROT_07 Posted 18 March 2010 Author Posted 18 March 2010 Gallagher would. forgot about gallagher, yeah he would make it
Trav Le Bleu Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 What do you mean "if", Champions League football for us in little over a years time! Unfortunately I believe a few more might be gaurenteed their place simply because NP won't be given enough money to buy too many more (and I'd certainly prefer 2-3 quality to 4-5 space fillers). I'd add Morrison, who gets better and better (remember, each season so far has been a step up for him and he's more than coped.) and Fryatt, though hopefully he won't be our first choice striker by this point. Of course, this is all "if". :scarf: :scarf:
Guest DavidJCW Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 a lot. As for who would keep their place, I would imagine there wouldn't be that many changes made by Pearson. Yes, he'll sign a few players here and there but the main crux of the team would still be the same.
Ozwin Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 One thing I do know - every team that gets promoted ends up signing Paul Mcshane, as long as we avoid him we're good.

Corky Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Weale Hobbs Berner Morrison Gallagher Possibly King too.
General Smuts Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Just done this exact thing on FM and i kept very few players. Set us up with the £40m in the bank that Burnley etc supposedly got for promotion last year. Promoted us, Newcastle and West Brom and relegated Pompey, Burnley and Hull. Kept Weale as back up keeper to Kieren Westwood. Tunchev and Hobbs are first teamers at CB fighting for places with Andreas Granqvist and Hedwiges Maduro. Kept King and Wellens as back up midfielders. Gallacher is 4th choice striker. Couldn't shift Solano so he stayed in the ressies mostly. Only others i kept were players i shifted out on loan for the season with sell on clauses because they only just signed such as Brown, Nielsen, N'Guessan, Kermogant etc Ended with: Westwood, Kronkamp, Garrido/Masilela, Granqvist, Tunchev/Hobbs, Maduro/Guarin, Dudu Cereanase, Stasevich/Lazovic , Zeman/Meghni , Helder Postiga, Cabanas/Djalo Subs: King, Gallacher, Wellens, Weale
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 This should be : IF we get promotion ... where will everyone be celebrating ? .. Wembley Obvs , 1884 bar etc
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 I would say only Weale & Hobbs for me would be good enough. Perhaps Tunchev if he gets himself fit. As good as Berner has been this season he has been found a little wanting by pacey Wingers (Sheff Wednesday & Forest for example) and didn't exactly pull up any trees and Blackburn. Would love him to be able to compete but I have my doubts. Somebody did a similar thread earlier in the season and I said then and still believe now that Wellens would be torn a new arsehole in the Premiership.

Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Don't know a lot about football do you ? Why is that then?
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Why is that then? Sorry mate that sounded a bit harsh (my last comment) In my opinion Wellens is our best player along with hobbs. He is out creative player and also breaks up a lot of the play .
leftsideoverhere Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Until May 23rd, this thread doesn't exist.
davieG Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Until May 23rd, this thread doesn't exist. With that title it'll then be too late.
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Wellens is our best player along with hobbs. Anyone that observes the game would know that. He is out creative player and also breaks up a lot of the play . Really. What happened then on Tuesday night? Also what happened to him between October and February? Being our most creative player remind me of how many assists and goals he has this season. He can barely control a game in this division. What makes you deluded enough to think he would be an asset at Premier League level?
Tommeh Posted 18 March 2010 Posted 18 March 2010 Weale. Hobbs, King and Fryatt would be the certains for me. Morrison, Wellens and berner could do decent jobs. Then Dyer, N'guassan and Gallagher would be incredibly valuable in the rotation rolls they've played this term. Still awful long way to go.
