Really. What happened then on Tuesday night? Also what happened to him between October and February? Being our most creative player remind me of how many assists and goals he has this season.

He can barely control a game in this division. What makes you deluded enough to think he would be an asset at Premier League level?

Can't comment on tuesday night wasn't there and didnt listen to it.

However im a season ticket holder and been most away games and throughout the season he has put in some big performances. A blip v Newcastle obviously but he has been ever present and played well in all other games just about. If our Central Midfielder which has an effect at both ends of the pitch wasn't a high quality player then I don't think we'd be 5th in the championship.

One thing I do know - every team that gets promoted ends up signing Paul Mcshane, as long as we avoid him we're good.

Should we get promoted the premier league will be stronger next season than it is at the bottom this season. I can't see Newcastle going back down and, like it or not, WBA are ahead of us in terms of quality by a fair way.

Would going up and coming straight back down benefit the club? :dunno:

One hell of a challenge to stay in it though should we pull it off.

If anyone can, NP can. :scarf:

If we do go up and then don't stay up (although I think we have a chance) the club will still be in a better financial position than it is now.

Anyway, let's worry about this if and when it happens.

Waghorn - if we got promoted I wouldn't be suprised to see a pernament deal struck (although we haven't signed any of our previous seasons loanees)

Hobbs :dunno:

I would say only Weale & Hobbs for me would be good enough. Perhaps Tunchev if he gets himself fit. As good as Berner has been this season he has been found a little wanting by pacey Wingers (Sheff Wednesday & Forest for example) and didn't exactly pull up any trees and Blackburn. Would love him to be able to compete but I have my doubts.

Somebody did a similar thread earlier in the season and I said then and still believe now that Wellens would be torn a new arsehole in the Premiership.

I agree with you mate. Major strenghening required to be be premier standard. This team reminds me of the Brian Little team that went up all those years ago. Mark Draper was the only real signining with the rest being the promoted squad. It was woefully short of quality. Hobbs, Weale, Morrison the Tunch for me could make it the rest are good quality championship players. Long way to go of course.

If we get promoted, we NEED financial backing in the millions... Not just a couple of grand here and there...

A few players "half inched" off portsmouth, hull, wolves and we might get a chance of staying up...

But i dont want my season ticket to need its own mortgage >.<

and therein lies the problem. You're asking for a benefactor to put millions into the Club. That's not just transfer fees, it's ongoing salaries too. A player on a relatively modest (by Prem standards) 20k per week costs over £1 million per year. If the benefactor runs out of money, the club is no longer sustainable. And then you become Portsmouth.

If (big if) we were to go up, we will have to hope Nige and his team can work their free transfer / loan magic once again, but we will have to make do with the core of the side we have now. The key will be if we can find players like Dorrans and Adam who we can buy for relatively little and who would improve on what we have now.

I'd want us to remain financially prudent if he were to go up, even if it means we're odds-on likely to go down. I'd much rather we have a Club than risk flirting with administration and possible liquidation

Being from Hull it really makes me sad that they've gone up there, wasted a whole load of money on shit signings and come back down destitute.

I just want us to use the money wisely. No bringing in players for the sake of it, if Pearson thinks there's a player out there who will make a difference for a good price then we should bring them in. If not, well the team we've got is a good one, I hope they band together and work hard. And I hope the PL money is used to ground Leicester as a solvent, aspiring club for the next couple of decades.
