Shrenchel Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Crackin scenes at Leeds, that's how you fvcking celebrate promotion.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Crazy celebrations, they've only just scraped promotion from the 3rd division, just shows how far that club has fallen.
Ozwin Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 To be fair Leeds have been in that league for 3 seasons, I think they're allowed a pitch invasion after all that.
Edmund Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 I wonder if that Bristol player who was involved in the Gradel altercation made it off alive.
Matt Posted 8 May 2010 Author Posted 8 May 2010 To be fair Leeds have been in that league for 3 seasons, I think they're allowed a pitch invasion after all that. We were unofficially 'allowed' one but we were too much snobs to celebrate the fact and I do remember people saying along the lines of a pitch invasion for winning League One would be 'embarrassing' and 'not much to celebrate'. League One?
Ozwin Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 We walked it, it was hardly a challenge for us, Leeds have been sweating since January. Saying that I'd have pitch invaded given the chance, you don't get to do it every year. You can't do it at Wembley can you?

You saying Lids wouldn't have been all over the pitch if they had been promoted 3 weeks ago?
Samilktray Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 I think Leeds can do as well as us this season next season. Got a pretty good squad and should have the attraction to bring in some decent players this Summer.
Shrenchel Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Crazy celebrations, they've only just scraped promotion from the 3rd division, just shows how far that club has fallen. Be quiet you tart. Does my nut when people take the piss out of other fans for showing passion.
dandannieldanok Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Be quiet you tart. Does my nut when people take the piss out of other fans for showing passion. Wasn't taking the piss really, just stating fact. The relief and exuberance of the celebrations show how far the club has fallen, even Leeds fans can't deny that.

No, the fact they've spent 3 years playing 3rd division football shows how far they've fallen. The fact 40,000 people (75% of who stood all game) just created an absolutely crackin atmosphere and followed it up with one of the most lively fvcking pitch invasions Ive seen in a good long time shows how in some ways theyve barely fallen at all.

Some were wearing replicas, does that make them only 50% disabled?
C-man Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Some were wearing replicas, does that make them only 50% disabled? Bet they have flasks too. Mongy bastards.
diggler Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 We were unofficially 'allowed' one but we were too much snobs to celebrate the fact and I do remember people saying along the lines of a pitch invasion for winning League One would be 'embarrassing' and 'not much to celebrate'. League One? When/where was this unofficial invite? At home last game of the League 1 season? No chance. There were a few who went on when we scored vs Southend away, but the home fans weren't too happy if I remember rightly. I think the club have been lucky that all the important games over the past 3 seasons that might have sparked pitch invasions have all been away from home (Stoke '08, Southend '09, Preston '10, Cardiff '10, Wembley '10 ) Did you see the police presence at the Middlesbrough game? Thought it was a bit OTT at the time, but after what's happened up and down the country over the past week, maybe not. There's a fine line between what Sky Sports would call 'great scenes' (Leeds today) and what the BBC would call '2018-bid wreckers' (Sheff Wed, Luton, Grimsby). Think there needs to be consistency - is it illegal or not?
The Doctor Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 What a shame - should have happened for a nicer/ less arrogant bunch of fans/team.
Fosse Boy Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 The best bit of today was when there was a rumour going around the Millwall end that Rovers had made it 2-2. They were going nuts for about two minutes. The look on their faces when they realised it was bollocks was priceless.
Daggers Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Leeds are going to need to make some serious purchases and I doubt Bates will dig deep for it. They struggled to go up from DivIII, are losing their main supplier of goals and Gradel has melted a few wires somewhere along the line. Their team spirit look sorely frazzled at a number of times since Xmas and Larry made some stunningly perplexing decisions on and off the pitch. I'm putting cash on them to struggle next season.

Fosse Boy Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Yeah Paul Merson mentioned that on his commentary. Good atmosphere mate? Up and down depending on what was going on up North and who was in front at the time. Did an in-depth report on SUSD if you fancy boring yourself for five minutes. Was really subdued from both sides in the last five though, even the players knew Leeds were gonna nick it.
Craig Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 I loved taking the piss as much as anyone, and I didn't want them to do it today. But... I'd much rather have two matches against Leeds next season than two sterile matches vs Charlton. That's if we don't go up obvzzzz.
Fosse Boy Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Happy for anyone except Charlton to go up via the playoffs - Millwall for the awayday and Swindon or Hudds because I've got mates who support them.
Maybes Posted 8 May 2010 Posted 8 May 2010 Sterile games against Charlton ? I guess maybe so the home game but an awayer in London I think not.
