Aeropars Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Just a heads up that tickets are being issued to people parking in the freemans common area and the conning c*nts are being selective about it as well. I got a ticket on sunday 30 mins after kickoff parked on the pavement on freemans common. Cars parked 50 yards away on the grass and pavement did not have a ticket. Just be warey if you park there. I've been parking there for 5 years and not had an issues until then.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The fun will really start next season, because by then the residents' only parking will have come in around Narborough Road

The area around Nelson Mandela Park is the same. Tigers fans were actually the worst offenders.
Aeropars Posted 23 March 2010 Author Posted 23 March 2010 Indeed but if they do it they should ticket everyone in the same area illegally parked. I got a ticket on sunday yet the car parked 50 yards away didnt. thats just plain wrong.

I saw the "traffic wardens" (or whatever the politically correct term is now for them) throwing tickets onto cars for the Forest game outside the pub that looks like a boat... (forgive me for my naivity... i dont live around the area I only pass it once every now and again )

Guest Mee-9 Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 We park near Narlborough road now, We used to park at Granby halls car park, but they put the price of parking for 4 hours, from £3,30 to £5.00. Rip Off. People are chancing now getting a ticket, rather than paying an extortionate amount of cash to park your car. Think about it. A fiver plus the cost of food and stuff, soon amounts up for the football being a pricey day out, Even if your a season ticket holder!
ScubaBlue Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Regarding the parking at the Dry Dock (the pub that looks like a boat). My friend parked there before the Cardiff game and noticed a traffic warden giving out tickets. When he approached the traffic warden, to ask if he'd be alright parking on the grass, the wardens response was 'yes'. 'As long as your car is parked FULLY on the grass and none of the wheels are touching the pavement.' He then put a ticket on a car which must have been parked a whole 10cm onto the pavement. T**t. Not sure if this is the case for every match day, or if that was just this particular traffic wardens stance on things.
lou Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Ahhh the joys of having a hubby who works at British Gas on Aylestone Road Not that Ive been taking the car lately anyway....
Guest DavidJCW Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Well the large green boarded up area just outside Filbert Village has been turned into a car park just recently and is now operational so should anyone need car parking space, I'm thinking that's a good option.
Aeropars Posted 23 March 2010 Author Posted 23 March 2010 Ha ha I know who you are because you're also bitching about it on face book!!!!!!! Who are you then? you must be on my firend slist if you saw that!
Babylon Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Who are you then? you must be on my firend slist if you saw that! All I'll say is I've known you for a very long time. I'm sure we use to come round yours and play on something like this...
Aeropars Posted 23 March 2010 Author Posted 23 March 2010 Ok that brings some very old memories so it must be during the Kent crescent era... Mr Smith by any chance? Or Mr Deprose?

There's another car park at the Lecy Cricket Ground - off Brazil Street. £2.20 a pint I think in the clubhouse. At least the money would go to a cricket club with a junior setup rather than in some geezer's pocket up Freeman's common.
eleven points Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The fun will really start next season, because by then the residents' only parking will have come in around Narborough Road Which roads/streets are these residents only parking being applied to, do you know?
Aeropars Posted 23 March 2010 Author Posted 23 March 2010 saffron lane, bus lane. FREE!! Not according to the email i got disputing my parking fine form the council. Specifically mentions bus lanes in the list of places they patrol. Besides you have to be there well early to grab a spot there.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Which roads/streets are these residents only parking being applied to, do you know? For starters it's the area between Braunstone Gate, Narborough Road, Western Road and Upperton Road. It's not a massive area but a lot of footie fans park there. Depending on how that goes, I expect it will be extended to the area the other side of Narborough Road. It was supposed to cover the area between Upperton Road, Fosse Road, Narborough Road and Hinckley Road as well but the residents there voted against it. They'll probably change their minds when they inherit all the parking problems moved on from the other side of Narborough Road. Or they might just sit about having a lovely time, it's difficult to say
Guest Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 You aren't supposed to park on the pavement anyway. I'm glad people people are being ticketed for it, it's one of my bug bears. 244 You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs. Link

Bellend Sebastian Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 You'll still be ok if you just go the other side of Upperton Road, but I imagine you may have to get there a bit earlier than you do at the moment as there'll be at least as many people but chasing fewer spaces

BARGAIN OR WHAT.
