Or the fact that you spent barely any of your large transfer budget?

122503[/snapback]

Why would that make my players tired?

I would of spent the other 12m if I found any players worthy of buying and who would come, but I didn't.

It looks like it's going to be a difficult season, I just hope you can attract some quality players in the January window if needs be.

How's Lennon playing on his return?

27th August 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 0-1 Manchester City

A very disapointed performance made worse by the fact Man City were down to 10 men for the whole of the second half. We failed to really put a decent attack together and lost the ball in dangerous areas.

10th September 2005 - Premiership

Manchester United 2-1 Leicester City

We battled hard but in the end we weren't strong enough, Roque Santa Cruz ripped us apart and scored 2 goals. Hreidarsson was sent off after 55 mins but we still managed to pull back a conselation goal in stoppage time through De Vries.

15th September 2005 - UEFA Cup 1st Round 1st Leg

Leicester City 6-0 AC Alliansi

European football returned to the city of Leicester with a bang. Finnish side AC Alliansi were totally ripped apart by a rampant Leicester which surely puts us into the group stages of the competition. It was a stunning performance and it mneans we can play a weakened side in the return leg. Goals from from a De Vries brace, a Pezzarossi brace, Mendoza and Fernandes.

24th September 2005 - Premiership

Crystal Palace 1-3 Leicester City

A much needed and good league win for us. We very well espercially at the back and in the second half we began to take control of the game. De Vries, Pezzarossi and De Vries got our goals to give us our first away win. We are now 13th in the league.

29th September 2005 - UEFA Cup 1st Round 2nd Leg

AC Alliansi 0-3 Leicester City

A weakened side travelled to Vantaa in Finland for the 2nd leg but still managed to come away with a good win. Goals from debutant Craig Sives, Mark De Vries and Stephen Hughes. We now qualify for the UEFA Cup group stage.

30th September 2005 - We are drawn in Group F of the UEFA Cup along with Bayern Munich, Besiktas, Servette FC and Odd Greenland. We play each team once starting with a mouthwatering to Munich to face Bayern. It won't be easy qualifying in the top 3 to progress to the first Knockout round.

2nd October 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 1-2 Birmingham City

Despite taking the lead through Mendoza it was a comfortable victory for Birmingham in the end, once again our opponents had over 20 shots on goal while we only had a handful. We can't afford to drop leads like this so easily, we must improve.

5th October 2005 - Premiership

Aston Villa 0-1 Leicester City

Yet again we fail to have many shots on goal and let our opponents attack us too much, however this time we defended very stoutly and limited Villa to long range shots. We played very well despite the lack of attacks from us, Fabrice Fernandes got our goal after 71 minutes to give us a valuable 3 points. We now travel to Munich.

20th October 2005 - UEFA Cup Group F

Bayern Munich 2-0 Leicester City

We battled hard and put in a decent display but in the end we weren't strong enough. We were suprisignly the far better side for the first 20 minutes, we had countless good chances but sods law prevailed and a fluked cross by Ortiz gave Bayern the lead after 23 mins. We can take a lot of pride from our performance against such a good team.

23rd October 2005 - Premiership

Tottenham Hotspurs 5-1 Leicester City

Dreadful. Something has to be done because we are getting bombarded every game and in this case we are getting hammered. Mendoza got out goal just before half time to give us hope at 2-1 but Dion Dublin got sent off in the second half which caused the flood gates to open. We lie in 17th with 9 points but with a couple of games in hand on some teams, roll on January.

You'll sort it out. Consolidation this season, make a move the next. You'll be fine. Change your formation, if it's not 4-4-2 then go back to that and see if it has an effect.

26th October 2005 - Carling Cup 3rd Round

Leicester City 1-0 Reading

A comfortable victory that moves us into the last 16 of the competition. Pezzarossi got the only goal of the game.

29th October 2005 - Neil Lennon suffers a fractured skull and will be out of action for 4 months, a massive blow for us as was playing very well after his return to Leicester.

30th October 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 2-1 Portsmouth

A great performance infront of the SKY cameras to give us a much needed league victory. We changed from a 4-4-2 to a 4-5-1 with Williams making forward runs and Pezzarossi playing as the lone striker....strange choice you might think for a team struggling to attack but it worked. Williams & Pezzarossi were immense and we created many more chances, when Mendoza returns from injury the lone striker role will suit him perfectly. It was Pezzarossi and Williams that got our goals.

2nd November 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 2-0 Charlton Athletic

We comfortably beat bottom of the league Charlton to give us another 3 points at the Walkers Stadium. Fabrice Fernandes opened the scoring and sub David Connolly got the second late on. Another good performance, let's hope the tide has turned.

6th November 2005 - Premiership

Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-2 Leicester City

The Wolves fans left Molineux early in droves as they saw their team get played off the park by Leicester. Dwight Pezzarossi got the both the goals in what was a superb performance from us against our local rivals. That's our 3rd win on the trot.

9th November 2005 - Carling Cup 4h Round

Chesterfield 0-2 Leicester City

Goals from Pezzarossi and Williams fired us into the Carling Cup Quarter Final, the bad news is that on 83 minutes Dwight Pezzarossi was on the end of a rash tackle that brokehis lower leg and will keep him on the sidelines for the rest of the season. A massive blow as he has been outstanding for us scoring 8 goals in 11 games. We will play West Brom or Man Utd in the Quarters.

21st November 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 0-1 Blackburn Rovers

A disapointing display, we looked very tired and deserved to lose by more in all fairness.

24th November 2005 - UEFA Cup Group F

Leicester City 3-0 Servette FC

A great night for Leicester City as were stylishly saw off Swiss side Servette in a carnival atmosphere at the Walkers Stadium. Mendoza, Connolly and Hughes got our goals in a win that takes us to 2nd in our group.

27th November 2005 - Premiership

Middlesborough 1-2 Leicester City

We showed great character to come from behind to beat Boro, Jose Manuel Mendoza was in supreme form to score 2 lovely individual goals and move us up to 10th in the league.

1st December 2005 - I win the Premiership Manager of the month and Gareth Williams won player of the month.

1st December 2005 - UEFA Cup Group F

Besiktas 3-3 Leicester City

Very disapointed to of only got a draw after we led 3-1 until the 83rd minute when Besiktas ignited a good fightback. Two goals from Mendoza and another from De Vries looked to of earned all three points and all but secured our place in the knockout stage however we only left Istanbul with a point which means the final game against Odd Greenland will be massive.

UEFA Cup Group F

1st - Bayern Munich - 12pts

2nd - Leicester City - 4pts

3rd - Besiktas - 4pts

4th - Odd Greenland - 3pts

-----------------------------------

5th - Servette FC - 0pts

4th December 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 2-2 Leeds United

Just like the Besiktas game we drop 2 points due to a late equalizer. We led comfortable through goals from De Vries and Gudjonsson but a last minute goal from Moore salvaged a point for Leeds.

7th December 2005 - Carling Cup Quarter-Final

West Bromwich Albion 3-0 Leicester City

We crashed out of the Carling Cup in disasterous fashion as Championship side West Brom toppled us over with ease. We played very badly and for what ever reason (tiredness no doubt) we never even gave West Brom a game.

10th December 2005 - Premiership

Newcastle United 2-0 Leicester City

We played decent at St James's Park but in the end we weren't strong enough and Newcastle coasted to victory, we seem to of ran out of gas with all the games of late. Up next the final UEFA Cup group game that will decide if we progress. We are 11th in the league.

15th December 2005 - UEFA Cup Group F

Leicester City 3-0 Odd Greenland

We saw off the challenge of Norweigian side Odd Greenland to finish fantastic 2nd in Group F and qualify for the knockout stage where we will face German side Werder Bremen. Mendoza and Connolly got our goals at a nervous Walkers Stadium.

18th December 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 0-1 Bolton Wanderers

A very disapointing performance, the victory was easy for Bolton in the end. The players looked very tired after their midweek European exploits but even so this performance wasn't good enough.

21st December 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 0-2 Liverpool

There was only ever going to be one winner in this one and with another lacklustre display it was never going to be us. Yet again we are rolled over easily at home.

26th December 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 2-0 Everton

Our 3rd league home game in a row and at last a win. Goals from Mendoza and Connolly gave us a much needed win as we begin to slide down the table. Hopefully I will be able to bring in a player or two in the transfer window to stop this recent form permantley.

28th December 2005 - Premiership

Fulham 1-0 Leicester City

We never really turned up at Craven Cottage and once again despite the low scoreline we were easily beaten.

1st January 2006 - Premiership

Leicester City 2-2 Chelsea

We saw in the new year with a respectable draw against Chelsea, however we maybe should of won. At half-time we were leading 2-1 with a brace from David Connolly and even in the second half we looked strong however an 80th minute Drogba goal meant we only gained a point.

4th January 2006 - Premiership

Leicester City 0-4 Arsenal

We were demolished by Arsenal in our 5th home game out of our last 6. Jose Manuel Mendoza saw red early in the second half with the scores at 2-0 which stopped any comeback from us.

7th January 2006 - FA Cup 3rd Round

Reading 1-0 Leicester City

We crashed out of the FA Cup at the first hurdle, ending any dreams of a repeat of last seasons success. We were very poor and thoroughly deserved to lose.

14th January 2006 - Premiership

Manchester City 1-0 Leicester City

We played well today but we just couldn't create many chances and when Man City scored from a penalty it meant they had won the game. We have great attacking players but we struggle to attack well enough.

18th January 2006 - Mikael Forsell signs on loan from Chelsea for 3 months. We need an extra spark upfront and hopefully the little Fin can provide that.

18th January 2006 - Premiership

Leicester City 1-3 Manchester United

Forssell made a dream start to his City career by scoring against Man Utd to put us ahead, however United slowly took control and won the game with ease. We are now slipping back into the relegation battle.

27th January 2006 - Juan Sebastian Veron signs from Barcelona for £3.1m. This is a massive coup for us, as his stats show he is a world class player when fit. Hopefully he will settle in well and get back to full fitness because we will need a player like him during the league run in. He won't play in the UEFA Cup as he is inegilble.

28th January 2006 - Premiership

Charlton Athletic 3-0 Leicester City

Disgraceful. It is bad enough losing 3-0 to anyone but losing 3-0 to Charlton who are bottom of the league with no wins at all season before this game is just not on. We changed to a 3-5-2 formation to accomendate Veron alongside Williams and Kisnorbo, with Forssell and Mendoza upfront. Things have to improve or else we will be facing relegation.

31st January 2006 - Danny Shittu signs from QPR for £2.5m. Shittu is a defender who has been outstanding for the last 2 years with QPR and I'm confident he can make the step up. He just missed out on the UEFA Cup deadline so he can't play in the competition.

4th January 2006 - Premiership

Birmingham City 3-4 Leicester City

A remarkable game and a remarkable performance from us. The first half saw us dominate and take a 2-1 lead into the break after goals from Forssell and Mendoza but shortly after the break Morrison scored to level things up. With 20 mins remaining former Brum player Forssell scored again to give us the lead and just when it was looking like that would be enough up stepped Muzzy Izzet of all people to volley in an equalizer with seconds remaining of normal time. We launched one last attack from the kick-off and it resulted in Mendoza going on a mazey run and someone squeezing the ball in from a near impossible angle to win us the game. Kisnorbo, Williams and Mendoza were outstanding in a victory takes us all the way from 16th to 12th.
