END OF SEASON REVIEW

League Position - 2nd

League Points - 96

League Cup - 4th Round

FA Cup - Runners Up

Top Goalscorer - Jose Manual Mendoza (29 goals in 21 games)

Top Assists - Jordan Stewart (16)

Most Appearances - Ian Walker (57)

Fans Player of the Season - Jose Manual Mendoza

Managers Player of the Season - Jose Manual Mendoza

Other Promoted Teams - Leeds and Wolves (all 3 relegated teams returning to Prem)

Releagted Teams - Norwich, West Brom and Southampton

Well, what a season! I expected a play off position and at Christmas it looked like that was what we would get but a unkown £140k signing changed all that, Jose Manual Mendoza won us so many games and was the main reason for our cup run as his goals always proved so very vital. We've achieved promotion back to the big time, although the FA Cup run was amazing it is promotion that mattered the most and we achieved it. Getting to the Cup Final was very bizzare but we fully deserved it by knocking out Southampton, Liverpool and competing with Chelsea. A remarkable season with so many talking points and highs, we now face a season in the Premiership and the added bonus of UEFA Cup football.

2005-2006 SEASON PREVIEW

Board Expectations - Fight bravely against relegation

Fans Expectations - Stay clear of relegation

Manager Expectations - Just survive

Transfer Kitty - £14m (boosted due to FA Cup run and Euro qualification)

Wage Budget - £120k

Current Wage Total - £96k

Transfers In

Neil Lennon - Celtic - £65,000

Fabrice Fernandes - Southampton - £700,000

Hermann Hreidarasson - Charlton - £1,600,000

Patrick Kisnorbo - Hearts - Free

Despite only spending £2.6m of the 12m given to me I feel I've brought in players that will improve the squad. City legend Neil Lennon returns to Leicester to battle it out with Gudjonsson and Kisnorbo for the defensice midfield place. Kisnorbo will also provide cover for the two full back positions. Fabrice Fernandes is a player with undoubted ability but a bad atitude, hopefully I can keep him happy and get him playing well. Hermann Hreidarasson was a regular for Charlton last season and got a rating of 7.38, an etablished Premiership defender. Hopefully there should be another striker signing before the transfer window shuts, if not we have a lot of money to play around with in January.

Pre Season Games

Crewe 0-0 Leicester

Inverness CT 2-2 Leicester

Hartlepool 1-2 Leicester

Leicester 2-3 Real Madrid

Some OK signings (even though the Fernandes link doesn't work?)...

Aren't there any good players available on free?

The Ferdandes link works ok for me, anyone else having problems?

Unfortunatley there weren't many good players avialable on frees, the best ones were snapped up quickly.

I can give you some pointers if you're short in some areas. But obviously money isn't an issue for you ;)

13th August 2005 - Premiership

Everton 1-0 Leicester City

It was a disapointing return to the Premier League as Alan Stubbs last kick volley summoned up to a opening day defeat. We played quite well but failed to create enough chances and we gave Everton far too much room, Savolainen was sent off in the second half which didnt help us at all. Losing with the last kick of the game is hard to take but this division is very creul. This proves what a difficult season it will be.

20th August 2005 - Premiership

Leicester City 1-0 Fulham

Our first Premiership victory but it was very tight, only a split second flash of brilliance from Mendoza was the difference between the two sides. Once again we didnt create that much but those 3 points are all that matter

24th August 2005 - Premiership

Chelsea 3-0 Leicester City

Chelsea did to us what they failed to do in the Cup Final, they dominated the game and totally deserved to win. We started well but it was downhill from there, our players look very tired and are underachieving currently. It may be too late however to bring anyone else in before the deadline.

26th Agust 2005 - We draw AC Vantaan Allianssi in the UEFA Cup First Round

It's an ok start. You have plenty of time to bring in people. Why are they tired already though? Didn't you train them well enough during preseason  ?

I trained them as I normally do, I think the problem may be international games.
