Ricey Posted 28 May 2005 Author Posted 28 May 2005 16th March 2005 - Championship Coventry City 2-4 Leicester City A superb hat-trick from Dwight Pezzarossi and a goal rom David Connolly gave us a great win over our Midlands rivals. A good performance that keeps is in the promotion hunt 19th March 2005 - Championship Rotherham United 0-3 Leicester City A brace from Dwight Pezzarossi and another from David Connolly gave us a win at Millmoor. Derby and Wolves both also won so we remain 3rd, a point behind Derby and 3 behind Wolves. 2nd April 2005 - Championship Leicester City 1-0 Leeds United A very tight victory but one that moves us closer to the top after both Wolves and Derby lost. Gareth Williams struck the only goal of the game after 85 minutes to gives us all three points. 9th April 2005 - Championship Leicester City 0-0 Brighton A disapointing draw considering yet again both Derby and Wolves could only manage a draw. We had the greater amount of chances but without the injured Mendoza we are struggling, luckily he should be back in time for next Sundays FA Cup Semi Final against West Ham at the Millennium Stadium.
Ricey Posted 28 May 2005 Author Posted 28 May 2005 17th April 2005 - FA Cup Semi Final - Millennium Stadium Leicester City 3-0 West Ham United Bloody hell Leicester City are in the 2005 FA Cup Final! The Millennium Stadium was packed to the rafters to see which Championship side would follow Millwalls lead last year and qualify for the FA Cup Final. The first few minutes were dominated by us and in the 16th minute a long Walker hoof upfield found the run of little Mendoza who proceeded to round the keeper and send the City fans manic. With 37 minutes gone Mendoza did it again, he strolled past Anton Ferdinand and powered a shot into the bottom corner to leave the fans dreaming of the Final. 10 minutes into the second half and things were made all but certain, Mendoza unselfishly threaded the ball through to Pezzrossi who planted the ball past the keeper and sent Leicester into the FA Cup Final! We contained to pressure West Ham until the Final whistle blew and the thousands of Leicester fans celebrated their sides shock place in the Final. It is the clubs first FA Cup Final since 1969 and a massive bonus is that due to the fact we are playing Chelsea in the Final we also qualify for next years UEFA Cup due to Chelsea already being qualified for the Champions League.

All three of us have enough points to be strolling away with the league any other season, it's going to be a tight and tense climax. De Vries and Gudjonsson got our goals. 23rd April 2005 - Championship Leicester City 2-0 Stoke City Stephen Hughes and Dwight Pezzarossi goals were enough to comfortably see off Stoke, we still however lay in 3rd place a point behind Derby in 2nd but have a game in hand. 27th April 2005 - Championship Leicester City 1-0 Plymouth Argyle Tight win but a vital win. This was our game in hand on Derby so we move up into 2nd with just two games remaining. Mendoza got his 26th goal of the season to give us those massively important three points. We now face 3 gigantic games, QPR away and Watford home to decide whether we will win automatic promotion or not and then FA Cup Final against Chelsea. Current Championship Table

Ricey Posted 28 May 2005 Author Posted 28 May 2005 30th April 2005 - Championship Queens Park Rangers 0-0 Leicester City Derby move level on points with us and it will all go down to the last game of the season, however we have a better goal difference than Derby so if we beat Watford we are up. We should of beaten 10 man QPR, lets hope this doesnt come back to haunt us. 8th April 2005 - Championship Leicester City 3-1 Watford We are Premier League! The Walkers Stadium was a wall of noise as we booked our place back into the top flight. Two goals from Mendoza and one for Pezzarossi was enough to seal our spot in next seasons Premier League. We tallied up 96 points this season which is remarkable, we did so well in the second half of the season with Mendoza giving us that extra edge to win promotion. Delighted to have gone up, we can now enjoy the spectacle that is the FA Cup inal safe in the knowledge we are up.
