Donut Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 The ballot papers have been sent to PFA members for the championship team of the season. who would go into your side? from what ive been watching this season, im going for (and excuse the misbalance):- ----------------------------Weale Zuiverloon-----Hobbs-------Coloccini----------Anderson Taarabt--------Nolan---------Dorrans---------Whittingham --------------- Sharp-----------------Chopra Narrowly missing out:- Kieran Westwood, Scott Loach, David Wheater, Kyle Naughton, Bruno Berner, Chris Gunter, Paul McKenna, Jonas Gutierrez, Darren Pratley, Gary Hooper, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Martin Waghorn
iBleedLeicesterColours Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Radoslav Majewski is outstanding. I would also have Berner and Charlie Adam in there.
Guest Bilo Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Not sure I'd include Majewski because as brilliant as he was in the first half of the season, he seems to have gone off the boil along with the rest of the Forest team over the past few weeks. The only Forest players I'd include in the team of the year would be Earnshaw and Camp, and then only on the bench. As for us, Weale, Hobbs and Berner wouldn't be too far away from the XI with King a decent outside shout for the 'bench' as it were.
StanSP Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 As said above with Majewski, same goes for Taarabt. Had a quality first half of the season til QPR's freefall. I know he's picked up form in last couple of games, but before then and since their collapse he did nothing special.
Donut Posted 23 March 2010 Author Posted 23 March 2010 I agree, Charlie Adam has been quality in an 'unfashionable' team, so has Darren Ambrose. Its just hard to shoehorn everyone into a formation. Maybe a 4-3-3 would facilitate three central goalscoring midfielders, although for me its not been a season of standout strikers to play 3 up front Oh just to add into the mix nominees for a young player of the season, my shortlist would be:- Adam Johnson (now left) Victor Moses (now left) Gylfi Sigurdsson Tom Cleverly Kyle Walker Jonathan Grounds Andy Carroll
Ozwin Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 No Steve Harper..? I've said it before, you can't rate someone behind a £20m defence, I could play in goal for them and not concede too many!
Jimothy Posted 23 March 2010 Posted 23 March 2010 Paul Anderson at left-back? He's a winger and there are plenty of left-backs in this league good enough to mean you don't need to put a winger at left-back. Berner for starters. Also I think Ashley Williams for Swansea has a had a decent season. I think they have the best defence in the league, or at least most clean sheets, so I would have thought one of the defenders would sneak in.

Agree about Williams, chipped in with a fair few goals as well.

To be fair thats a good point. Still think he's one of the best in this division though, if not the best ( behind Weale obviously)
