MrSpaM Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I've noticed a couple of people mention it in the post match post about the incident between Lloyd Dyer and Andy Griffin, i'm glad to see it wasnt only me that thought Griffin had been shown a red card for the offence. Was this just a mistake by the ref showing the wrong card, or a mistake by myself and a few other people i've noticed have commented about it? Or should the player have been sent off, but the ref just didnt realise he hadnt left the pitch? Either way he should have been sent off for what he did to Dyer on the ground, but once again the shoddy ref wasnt even looking, and it took the crowd to spark up before any of the officials looked, by that time Dyer was fighting back after hed been kicked on the ground, and then pulled back by Griffin after Dyer said something to him. For Dyer to get booked for this was ridiculous, he was trying to walk away from the situation before the ref noticed what was going on.
Podge Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 The ref just had his back to the incident because the play went in the other direction, and he took the the default ref cop out option of just cautioning both players involved.
Asha Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I definitely thought it was a red, hence L1, K, J2 etc celebrating and chanting 'cheerio'. He lifted the red up for sure, and nobody around me could understand what was going on when I pointed out they still had 11 men on the pitch.
davieG Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 Sat in C block we thought it looked a like a yellow for them and a red for Dyer so perhaps it was just a trick of the lighting/rain.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 Sitting in C1 it looked like a red he held up, Probably a mistake by the ref on what card he held up.
MrSpaM Posted 25 March 2010 Author Posted 25 March 2010 And what do people say about it in that thread? The last time i looked was this morning before i started work, and nobody had commented on it yet, so i don't know, if you can be bothered to search through the forums and let me know what people said about it feel free to let me know. Just delete the thread if your that bothered

MrSpaM Posted 25 March 2010 Author Posted 25 March 2010 You're the one posing the question, surely it should be you doing the searching? If the threads that pointless why is their other admins making valid contributions to it instead of just flaming me for it?

That just about sums it up.
RowlattsFox Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I did wonder why there was cheers and chants of cheerio
Guest Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 If the threads that pointless why is their other admins making valid contributions to it instead of just flaming me for it? There. Why is there. Does my head in. Same as confusing "you're" and "your". Some Admins/Mods are happy to let things go. Others like to see people use things like the search function before hitting the "New Topic" button. For me personally, when someone posts "Following on from another thread..." or "Taking this point from another thread...." alarm bells start ringing. If it's a general point or observation, I breathe a sigh of relief. But when it's a specific point related to the original topic, it smacks to me of people starting threads for the sake of starting a new topic. Seeing as other Admins/Mods have left this topic, I have done nothing. But if I had seen this topic first, it would have been merged with the post match thread.
FoxyPV Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 There. Why is there. Does my head in. Same as confusing "you're" and "your". Feel your pain - just add 'to' and 'too' as well
Houdini Logic Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 It was certainly red from L and it was not a trick of the light/rain. The Ref must have had the cards back to back, though this in itself doesn't make sense because I thought one was kept in the top pocket and one in th back pocket?! What was funnier than anything was the (presumably drunk) guy in L going crazy at our stewards, asking them to go and demand an explanation from the Ref. Reading fans would have seen the same as me so I might go and have a look on their board

Should there not be an apostrophe in Admin's and Mod's, being that they're plural...

Houdini Logic Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 No I really should have thought about this first. Rope please...
Guest Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 Should there not be an apostrophe in Admin's and Mod's, being that they're plural... No. It's not possessive.
FoxyPV Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I really should have thought about this first. Rope please... I thought you'd done it deliberately as a joke
Guest Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 I really should have thought about this first. Rope please... There's no need for that; at least let me have some fun first!!
Rocket-Ron Posted 25 March 2010 Posted 25 March 2010 From sitting in the Kop it did look as though all the cards shown last night had a flash of red in them. Thought I was the only one to notice though, funny that
