Dylan Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 To me it looks like Cardiff have the most difficult games left. Swansea and Blackpool's games aren't easy too so I think we're capable of holding on to this play-off place. However, as everyone knows, anyone is capable of beating anyone in this division. So, what do people think of our chances of reaching the playoffs looking at the run-ins? I think we'll finish 5th, hitting form for the playoffs.
Mikey Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 I think we'll finish 5th or 6th. No games are easy at this stage. I'm sure we'll be alright. The only club I'm worried about out the top 6 is Sheff Utd.
dandannieldanok Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Middlesbrough, Sheff Utd and Reading have decent outside shouts, although I'd be surprised if the top 6 changed now.
Cat Burger Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 I think Reading and Sheff Weds are easy games for Cardiff, whereas we only have the P'boro game that you would consider to be a banker. I would say our run in is the hardest and our season could be decided if we lose the next 3 (extremely difficult) games.
Dylan Posted 27 March 2010 Author Posted 27 March 2010 If we win all 3 home games I think we'll definetely make the playoffs

Even though they've won like 9 of their last 11 or summing like that.
Cat Burger Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Reading easy? Even though they've won like 9 of their last 11 or summing like that. Cardiff are at home, just hitting a bit of form and I would say, a vastly superior side at the moment. ..Oh and Reading are facing West Brom next, forget about that record.
Dylan Posted 27 March 2010 Author Posted 27 March 2010 Cardiff are at home, just hitting a bit of form and I would say, a vastly superior side at the moment. Fair point. But Reading atm would give anyone in the C'ship a good game atm. Hopefully Cardiff are shit on tuesday!
Webbo Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 ..Oh and Reading are facing West Brom next, forget about that record. They played them today. They drew.
Cat Burger Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Fair point. But Reading atm would give anyone in the C'ship a good game atm. Hopefully Cardiff are shit on tuesday! Yours was a fair point also, and I have back peddled somewhat I do think Cardiff are the best playoff-vying team. I think a draw for us would be cracking. The Preston and Boro matches last two are also really worrying me looking at that list. Gah, if only we could've had it sewn up before then but I am struggling to see that happen at the moment. I've been shaken up.
Karljohn Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 Sheffield United have still to play the Sheffield Derby game, they also have Barnsley which is a local one and will be tight.... also have Newcastle and Swansea.
Cat Burger Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 They played them today. They drew. Penis on my head.
tartanowl Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 If anyone is going to pip you it will be Doncaster. They are a very good side and have some very winnable games. I think you'll make it though.
David Guiza Posted 27 March 2010 Posted 27 March 2010 If we drop out it will be down to our poor results not any teams good form. Watford and QPR at home and Peterbrough away will be the big games imo. If a team outside of the top6 are to get into the play offs i believe it will be at Cardiff's exspence as i believe our form will pick up although i can't see us getting anything from West Brom. Would be delighted with a points on tuesday.
calum_lcfc Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 I said it before we played Derby and i still think we need 3 points from this spell of away games. I think QPR, Boro and Watford are all winable, leaving us needing in my opion just 3 points from either Preston and Middlesborough and we are there (fingers crossed) Out of intrest who does everyone want in the play offs?

With 6th and 5th at home first.

THEBIGJOHNSTEADER; Posted 28 March 2010 Posted 28 March 2010 I'm going to stick my neck out here. I think if we beat cardiff, west brom, qpr, peterborough, watford, preston and middlesbrough we WILL make the play-offs. You heard it here first

Joking apart, I think we will be OK. Overall we have been fairly consistent all season. Hopefully we get into the play offs, with the away game first, bring on The Trees!
Webbo Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Looking at the remaining fixtures it looks as if we've got the easiest game next Saturday. A win should hopefully pull us away a bit.
Corky Posted 5 April 2010 Posted 5 April 2010 Looks like Doncaster and Sheffield United have faded away. Middlesbrough still in with a shout though.
ozleicester Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 Surely (hopefully) it really is just between Citeh, Blackpool and Swansea for the final 2 spots... and in truth i think Swansea will get there, so its just us and (DJ) Blackpool. My assumption is that the league will finish exactly as it is right now. Newcastle WBA Florist Cardiff Swansea Leicester (although id love to get a crack at Cardiff first, then go to knock off Florist
Flynny Posted 6 April 2010 Posted 6 April 2010 We're fighting Blackpool and Reading for 6th, if Reading lose one of their next two games then realistically probably just us and Blackpool.
