Milans Foxes Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 This "trying to impress the new manager" bullshit doesn't wash with me. I've seen teams go down and win games with the same manager. However, their players have been trying all season yet haven't been good enough so I'm going for a comfortable 4-1 win. Can't wait for it now!!
Jodranadinho Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 with Posh being relegated on monday and with them having a new manager with Gary Johnson, i feel that there's a slight chance they'll play without fear and maybe cause an upset. But with us being the MIGHTY leicester city im going for a 3-0 win! Waghorn (2) Richie Wellens (1)
Salieri Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 New manager, will want to impress, already relegated, pressure off.....Can only equate to one thing..... A resounding victory for the Foxes (coupled with a defeat for Ollys Oranges). 1-3 Waghorn 2, Howard. Huzzah.
Edmund Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 New manager and no pressure on them? 3-0 loss. I hope we fucking take them to the cleaners but unfortunately the outcome above is most likely due to the reasons listed, but I wouldn't go as far as a 3-0 defecit. My heart say City 2-0, head says 1-0 Boro. :city:
okie fox Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Peterborough had improved under the last manager, Gannon, so yet another manager might unsettle them. However, MacKail-Smith might be recalled and could give Brown the runaround again. Their players will be trying to impress their new manager so it will be a difficult game if we don't score early. We may just squeak a win, 1-0.
Aeropars Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 I've changed my mind on this. Their best player is now at Forest (Boyd) and another manager in quick sucession will do nothing for them. We have a quality side. They, however do not. Fom book wins here. 2 - 0 win.
leftsideoverhere Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 The omens are different from last year, and for all we've struggled at London Road in the past, and while it's true that the pressure is off Peterborough now, I think this will be more like the Hereford trip last year than the Peterborough one. Nice weather, nervy start, and then we put the lower league club to the sword in a professional display to calm the nerves of all but the most panicky FTer.
Fox You Forest Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 I fancy a 2-0 win and a win for Niche Market. Waggy to get both.
carterfox90 Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 want the win but fear it will be 0-0 new manager to impress & no pressure on them & blackpool to get shock win at the toon ;)
Collymore Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 ive gone for a loss, got a bad feeling about this one....
mr whippy Posted 9 April 2010 Posted 9 April 2010 Very confident of a win. I was talking to a posh fan today and he said it will be humiliating tomorrow. He said the big defender Exodus Geoghan, or however you spell it, has a similar turning circle to an oil tanker and is shite against anyone with any skill or pace.
Bettsj2 Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Unfortunately I can see us losing this one. I hope to god i'm wrong but London Rd isnt exactly a happy hunting ground for us. My head says 2-1 Posh but my heart wants 1-0 City. Best of luck to the lads. I'll be at work all day so wont be able to listen to the game. Have to rely on those nerve jangling text updates from my mates!! Up the Citeh
harpendenfox Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 We are officially at the business end of the season. We hope to have seven games left this season. If all goes well, each game becomes progressively more important than the previous one. The 'take each game as it comes' cliche has never been more true. We need to go to Peterborough, be fast out of the traps, professional and relentless, and concentrate to the final whistle. It's time for us to apply pressure on Blackpool, Swansea and Reading by winning our next three games, which we are more than capable of doing. Best of luck to the players. You can do this. Blue Army
Darkzzz_ Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Hopefully we can bag a vital win today but I have a feeling it will be a draw now they have Gary Johnson at the helm. I just hope the confidence is still bouncing around following that demolition of QPR a week a go.
lovelcfc Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 We should win. It would be vital if we did and if blackpool lose to newcastle it will open up a four point gap
Karljohn Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 He said the big defender Exodus Geoghan, or however you spell it, has a similar turning circle to an oil tanker and is shite against anyone with any skill or pace.
AmericanScott Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Tough game this one. Gary Johnson's first match in charge so the Posh will be looking to impress. We need to be ruthless today and run Peterborough into the ground. Head- Posh win Heart- CIIITTYYYYYYYYY! ps Come on you Magpies. I'm a Newcastle fan today.
The Doctor Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Very confident of a win. I was talking to a posh fan today and he said it will be humiliating tomorrow. He said the big defender Exodus Geoghan, or however you spell it, has a similar turning circle to an oil tanker and is shite against anyone with any skill or pace. does he play full back or centre back? Becasue if he plays centre back then he's pretty damn lucky coming up against howard.
mr whippy Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Ok day planned. If all goes to plan I have backed the winner of the Grand National. I will then put on soccer saturday to see that Leicester have secured a resounding victory. I will then have a BBQ and a good few beers before finishing the day with a bit of late night delight. Happy days
sdb Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 a result today would be HUGE. lets not regret it come the end of the season - new manager or not they're the worst team in this league. Teams around us will drop points today... COME ON LEICESTER!!!!!!!!! :appl: :scarf: :scarf:
Lillehamring Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 wanting to impress the manager and actually impressing the manager are two very different things. i'm sure there are many many case where a new manager takes numerous games to get anything out of a poor team, and lets face it, that's what p'boro are.. for all the talk of pressure off, it doesn't necessarily mean they are suddenly going to be motivated, looking at the injury news, they are pretty much a team of relative strangers, couple that with a new manager introducing new ideas, it could easily be a massacre. the onus is really on us to take advantage of them, so i think it's less about 'new managers' and 'nothing to lose' and more about which city side turns up. if we score first, expect a cricket score - if they score first, i'll take 1-1
AjcW Posted 10 April 2010 Posted 10 April 2010 Unchanged Starting 11, Right decision . Come on the foxes! City: Weale, Morrison, Brown, Hobbs, Berner, King, Wellens, Spearing, Gallagher, Waghorn, Howard Subs: Logan, Bruce, N'Guessan, Oakley, Adams, Kermorgant, Vaughan
