Heskey2011 Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Massive Thank you Nigel you're a legend, Anyone know why at no point over the last few months have skysports bigged up the amazing season playoff push etc? The lads need to be recognised for all the hard work they and Nigel have put in over the past two years, they've really made the step up. Here's to another big step!!!
leftsideoverhere Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Nigel has been amazing, and he continues to impress. After the game today he was taking everything in his stride, and you'd never have guessed the scale of his acheivement. That's part of the reason the media have ignored us: we've accomplished this phenomenal result with none of the showmanship or ostentatiousness that certain clubs demonstrate. It's just been a question of setting targets and then acheiving them. But that represents such a wholesale change in the psychology of our club, who've spent the best part of a decade in a spiral of under-acheivement, that the impact NP has made really cannot be exaggerated. People outside Leicester might not notice - to casual observers we're just doing what we 'always' used to do, hanging out at the top of the second tier - and that's fine, I don't crave Sky Sports' recognition. All that matters is giving us a team we can be proud of, and the last four games have shown just how far we've come on that score from that awful day two years ago. NP himself would probably say at this point that there's a job still there to be done. That's true, and I'm surprisingly confident about him leading the team to Wembley. There isn't a manager in the Championship - or the Premier - that I'd rather have at the helm with the task ahead. Trust in NP, he'll get it done.
Ozwin Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Massive Thank you Nigel you're a legend, Anyone know why at no point over the last few months have skysports bigged up the amazing season playoff push etc? The lads need to be recognised for all the hard work they and Nigel have put in over the past two years, they've really made the step up. Here's to another big step!!! I've noticed this but it's the way you want it to be. Keep the players grounded.
MC Prussian Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Thank you, Nigel Pearson. Thanks to all squad players this season. Thanks to the other club staff. Thank you, Leicester fans. Thank you, Leicester City Football Club. After the struggles and mediocre times in the period between 2004 and 2008, we've finally gotten to a stage to be proud of this lovely club once more. The League One Trip and the title were already a wonderful achievement, but to come back to the Championship with a rather inexperienced squad (bar a few older players) and to stay in the playoff places for a majority of the season and ending the campaign in a playoff position is a massive thing to do. And we deserve it. Out of all the clubs out there, this is it. This is our year. Thank you, Nigel Pearson. For the concentrated, steady work with your crew. The thoughtful, quiet way by which you've handled the various situations; the calmness, the esprit, the spirit, the attitude - which has transcended over to the footballers. Professionalism all around. No big-mouthed appearances, no bursts of aggression. No primadonnas at this club, everyone plays for each other. This is what football should be like and this is what we've been missing for so many years. Nigel, you are a hero. And so are the lads you've been working with for the past two years. No matter where we'll end up in May, be it the Playoff Final or even promotion to the Premier League, it's been a pure pleasure being a fan of this club. And it still is. I applaud you all.
Matt Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Massive Thank you Nigel you're a legend, Anyone know why at no point over the last few months have skysports bigged up the amazing season playoff push etc? The lads need to be recognised for all the hard work they and Nigel have put in over the past two years, they've really made the step up. Here's to another big step!!! It'd be nice to get the credit they deserve however i'd rather it be the way that they've been quiet and not bigged up an amazing 2 seasons, keeps the players grounded, not carried away and focussed on the job, keeps vultures away from our players/manager - if the 'vultures' do their homework they'd be coming to watch our players/looking into our manager which they have but Sky Sports and the media bigging us up would only make that worse and take the concentration away. I think going quietly about the job, getting on with the job with no hassle and slipping under the rader is exactly how NP likes to run things.
Dobos Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Thank you players and staff for a great season! All the best in the Playoffs.
Legend_in_blue Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 As far as NP is concerned, the job isn't done. Top marks for getting us this far though, a real effort. Have we got the quality to pull something out of nothing in these last three games? That's what it will take to get us through, I expect extremely close games. Gallagher, there's still time to weave some more magic this season...
Bryn Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Gonna be a top boss, the best young English manager around right now. Not sure which way he'll go. Could end up at a club like Villa or Everton, could make us a top ten Prem club, could manage England given the time he's spent in the setup.
Mr Happy Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 I completely agree with everything (besides that rogue joke 'Pearson out' post ) that has been said in this topic. Three cheers for Nigel Hip hip wem-bell-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Hip, hip wem-bell-leeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Because Sky is only interested in Man Utd and that cvnt John Terry. I cancelled Sky and spent the money on a ST for this season, best thing I have done in ages. NP and the boys - fantastic, thank you.
richardsfoxes Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 Fantastic season, immencely proud of what the club has achieved in such a small space of time, where the club looked on a slide. Thank you Nigel, no matter what happens this season, you are a legend. Keep the faith, Premiership here we come .
