Liamlcfc1 Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 Hope this is some rubbish they have come up with to fill space in the paper http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/West-Ham-put-Leicester-boss-Nigel-Pearson-top-of-shortlist-to-replace-Gianfranco-Zola-Exclusive-article404015.html
MPH Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 predictable - yet slightly more concerning. Gives him more bargaining power when it comes to his contract negotiations - both for his personal wage and size of promised transfer budget..
Nick Posted 24 April 2010 Posted 24 April 2010 predictable - yet slightly more concerning. Gives him more bargaining power when it comes to his contract negotiations - both for his personal wage and size of promised transfer budget.. Absolutely - I do like it when a manger of a football club is able to dictate terms - especially a decent manger. If we don't get promotion, yes I can see him choosing to go to West Ham, though I don't really believe he'd get the job - he's good but experience at top flight level talks - and Gold will not want to take chances. I hope he gets the rate he deserves out of Milan and stays with club. I don't believe yet he can say to himself "I've taken this club as far as I can go" - when he can, that's when he should cash in.
Jimmy Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 West Ham will want someone proven to replace Zola who was a gamble appointment
Guest NGoloMode Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/West-Ham-put-Leicester-boss-Nigel-Pearson-top-of-shortlist-to-replace-Gianfranco-Zola-Exclusive-article404015.html Nigel Pearson has emerged as one of the shock front-runners to replace Gianfranco Zola at West Ham.The Hammers will part company with the Italian at the end of the campaign regardless of whether he steers the club to safety. Co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have begun to consider their options and Leicester boss Pearson is figuring high on their wish list. He could even steer Leicester to successive promotions after virtually assuring the Midlands club of a play-off place this season. But Pearson, who is one of the lowest paid managers in the Championship, has refused to commit himself to Leicester beyond the final year of his current contract. It would effectively cost West Ham as little as £350,00 to prize him away from the Walkers Stadium as compensation in his deal is restricted to just one year of his current salary. Pearson has performed wonders on a relatively shoestring budget at Leicester. After they were relegated from the Championship two seasons he steered them to promotion as champions from League One in his first season. And he has performed miracles this season on a largely restricted budget to take Leicester to the brink of a return to top-flight football. His reputation as one of the brightest and most innovative young managers in the game has not gone unnoticed in Football. And while West Ham are also considering the likes of Slaven Billic and Steve McClaren, Pearson’s personal demands are far more likely to appeal to both Sullivan and Gold.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 At first I thought that this would be at best a sideways move for NP should he choose, then I remembered the Hammers financial problems. They have no money, so now it becomes a step backwards, especially if we are promoted. Can't see this happening.
adamkhalifa Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 NP being linked with jobs, inevitable. But can't see it happening, especially with the bell end owners, and the debt issue.
Daggers Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 No money, fighting relegation next season, shit owners to work for - what's not for Pearson to love about the prospect?
Guest Bilo Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 No money, fighting relegation next season, shit owners to work for - what's not for Pearson to love about the prospect? With those owners, free porn on tap is a perk.
Webbo Posted 25 April 2010 Posted 25 April 2010 There seems to be trouble behind the scenes at Brum atm. It's quite likely that McLeish will get the West Ham job.
