milan_foxes Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Why is it that Blackpool are allowed onto their pitch at the end of the game and we arent? <_< Is there a set rule for not being allowed onto the pitch and Blackpool disobeyed it or are our stewards just arseholes?
Fosse Boy Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 No one's really allowed on their own pitch are they? Ground regs 'n' all that. It just depends on the laxity of the stewarding and/or whether a set of fans own a collective pair of bollocks or not. Our H&S is generally unnecessarily strict, whereas Blackpool's stewards are a bit more relaxed (e.g. the way they dealt with the flare when we played them).
MPH Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Pearson or milan probably wanted to make sure we kept a lid on things - the play offs are not the victory for us but they may well end up being so for blackpool who probably havnt been in with a chance of getting into the prem for a good few years...
Ozwin Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Why the **** do you wanna pitch invade anyway? We havn't won anything.
Leicfox Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 I felt alittle embarrassed by it tbh and sent a text massage to a few of my Blackpool fan mates telling them they aint won anything yet, but their actng like they've won automatic promotion.
Tilley Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Invading a pitch because we made 5th? Jesus, it'd be embarrassing. Glad we 'weren't allowed.'
milan_foxes Posted 2 May 2010 Author Posted 2 May 2010 Why the **** do you wanna pitch invade anyway? We havn't won anything. Nobodys said that, im just asking why Blackpool were and we werent. Stop jumping to conclusions.
Tommeh Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Derby went on aswell with fvck all resistance and reason. Palace got a few on after they stayed up but were instantly chased off by Sheff Weds earlier, defending their turf and that, got pretty nasty but fair play to them. It seems out H&S are just complete over protective dicks that go completely OTT with things like this. Eg Scunny last season the police presence to prevent L/K was incredible added to a lack of bottle from many fans.
Gaffer Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 What made me laugh was there was more police stopping the family stand getting on the pitch than the Kop!
Guest Mee-9 Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Where did all the fuzz come from? There were thousands of coppers.
Shrenchel Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 W.B.A went on today as well and watching the FL show earlier it seemed like half the fvcking matches ended in pitch invasions. Not saying people should or shouldn't have gone on the pitch for finishing 5th but with invasions becoming more and more the norm nowadays and no club seemingly ever getting mither for it, does make you wonder why the club don't just let people get on with it if they want to,
dandannieldanok Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Going on the pitch isn't a great way to celebrate most of the time because all that happens is that the players go running for cover in the tunnel. If the players stay out and join in the fun then it might be worth it, but I doubt they would have today.
samjohnson Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 After the players had gone in and most of the stands were pretty much empty, the stewards down the Kop were defiant that we were allowed to exit via the exit gate, which would mean going onto the "running track". I saw one guy get pretty pished off at the big-cheese steward about it. Then i walked by when the stewards gave up arguing... it just made it a little worse Pretty stupid really that our H&S is the strictest ever. Even when we do win something, they want to protect the grass that will inevitably be re-layed, just as simple as Wembley
dandannieldanok Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 The stewards are in a no-win situation really though if you think about it. If they don't let anybody on they're seen as draconian, if they did and there were accidents and kids got hurt e.t.c. they'd get an absolute mauling by some fans and the press.
Narborough_fox Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Any need for that many Police? Could of been doing something better than sitting there like lemons watch out for 'hooligans' trying to get on the pitch. There was a fire in Enderby surely that was better for them!
Babylon Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 We had feck all to celebrate. When we have something, maybe we will!!!!

C-man Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 Best pitch invasion this weekend was at Grimsby where they got on the pitch before the final whistle against Barnet yet they're still in the relegation zone. Talk about premature.
MC Prussian Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 We had feck all to celebrate. When we have something, maybe we will!!!! I sincerely hope the majority of Leicester City fans can wait for another three weeks.

Talk about premature. Aye. As goal celebrations go it looked pretty mental though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lB_Lz7Wat58

I don't think policemen are all that effective at tackling a fire tbh.
davieG Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 I don't think policemen are all that effective at tackling a fire tbh. There was plenty of litter to pick up, they're supposed to be good at paperwork aren't they?
TheStig Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 I felt alittle embarrassed by it tbh and sent a text massage to a few of my Blackpool fan mates telling them they aint won anything yet, but their actng like they've won automatic promotion. Blackpool are "over the moon" being in the playoffs - were "over the moon" when we reach the Prem. Shows the difference in ambition levels :scarf:
PAULCFC Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 I thought it really weird when all the police came marching round the pitch.....and to think it's us who are paying their overtime.
samjohnson Posted 2 May 2010 Posted 2 May 2010 I don't think policemen are all that effective at tackling a fire tbh. But it's a wall known fact that policemen are made of flame-retarded... well... i knew it had the word "retarded" in...
