Matt Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 well done blackpool. I still think they will take derbys unwanted record of them next season mind you. I agree, I said if Leicester, Forest or Cardiff went up we would probably all struggle but if 1 of those 3 went up /i could see them surviving if they went up, I don't see Blackpool having any chance at all. Having said that I didn't imagine or truly give Blackpool a chance in the playoffs, so who know they really could be the surprise package.
Salieri Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 From todays Mirror : Ian Holloway, one of the great characters who has also managed with success in the lower leagues at Bristol Rovers, Q.P.R, Plymouth and Leicester. Lazy journalism at its best.
Dylan Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 I really cant see Blackpool having a chance of staying up. I can see them challenging Derby for their lowest points record. They'll be down by Feb.
AyewJoking Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Well done Blackpool. Should be interesting next season but whatever happens, at least you got there!
Guest Bilo Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 I wish Blackpool nothing but the best but they'll be straight back down, little doubting that. However, is that really the point? £90 million to what is a small club by Championship standards let alone Premiership standards will set them up for good. They can finish the re-building of Bloomfield Road, build new training facilities, invest in youth teams and possibly a few players as well, this is the kind of opportunity most clubs of Blackpool's size can only dream of. Fair play to them, they haven't overspent to get where they are and are a well-run outfit. Compare that with a Cardiff side described as 'hopelessly insolvent' that have thrown everything at a Premiership place and you can't help taking your hat off to them. I'm also delighted that Cardiff haven't gone up. Their fans egos are matched only in size by their club's debt. Chopra and Bothroyd are a pair of whining, cheating bitches who deserved the heartbreak of yesterday as much as genuine club players like Brett Ormerod deserved their unbridled joy. Hopefully they'll struggle next season and sink without trace.
BoneDog Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 It was beautiful watching the final yesterday, I was very happy I hope they put up a good fight in the Prem and I will love it if they manage to stay up, highly doubtful but you never know. The only downside watching it was thinking what might have been. Plus, the play-off final was the spectacle of the day, it pissed on the Champions League Final.
Mack Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Blackpool will be down quicker than a whores drawers when the navy roll into port. Hollowords got Blackpool promoted then started putting the whole country to rights live on sky sports. The bloke was out of his depth with us, hopefully we will get 800k and a stick of rock for that useless little turd campbell, he is in his last year of contract so that will do. As for the taffs they were silly enough to allow ridsdale to get his mits on their club and now it will come home to roost.
dandannieldanok Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Blackpool need to follow the Burnley model rather than follow the Hull model, otherwise they could crumble as a club within 5 years. If they're sensible, this promotion should set them up for a long long time, huge money.
foxfan4eva Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 chopper (sorry Chopra) is an idiot for slagging off leicester fans....feels GREAT watching him bawl like a baby!! Also they can stick their BLOOOOBIRDS up their arses! What di Chopra actually say about City fans? Was it in the papers or on tv ? I missed it

If they're sensible, this promotion should set them up for a long long time, huge money. Karl Oyston is a shrewd operator, and im sure he will be following his own model thats in place now. Running a successful football club without being in debt. I heard the Blackpool players were only getting £90 p/w during the off-season.
Webbo Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Blackpool will be down quicker than a whores drawers when the navy roll into port. I predict that Blackpool will stay up for 3 seasons. Autumn, winter and spring.
Messi Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 him and jay boothroyd (we could sign him for about 4mill?) would be a dream Question about your name; How long have you actually been a 'Loyal Fan'. Obviously not long enough to see how shit DJ actually is. And where are we going to get 4m to spend on Bothroyd?

That is the main thing (shame money is almost seen as the most important thing to matter now but its the way football is) Unlike us they'll get a new stand built!
Leicfox Posted 23 May 2010 Posted 23 May 2010 Glad All Over... Took this, but i was steaming, so it aint the best.
Mack Posted 24 May 2010 Posted 24 May 2010 I predict that Blackpool will stay up for 3 seasons. Would that be the summer, lights then Christmas season? But sadly relegated by Easter

I don't think Blackpool are comparable to either, the financial boost is incredible for them.
