Bugg Posted 4 June 2010 Posted 4 June 2010 How is Dawson a possibility? He's not even in the 23 man squad. My mistake, just remembered you can bring in a player before the tournament starts.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 June 2010 Posted 8 June 2010 Who cares? What does it matter? ITALIA! ITALIA! ITALIA!
Jfox Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Hart Johnson King Terry A.Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard J.Cole Rooney Crouch
Dylan Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Hart Johnson Terry King A Cole Lennon Gerrard Lampard J Cole Rooney Heskey
Jimmy Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 I'd go Hart Johnson Carragher Terry A. ColeLennon Lampard Gerrard MilnerHeskey Rooney
Tomassi Posted 9 June 2010 Posted 9 June 2010 Here is what i think Capello would pick for Group Stage matches... GK - David James RB - Glen Johnson CB - Ledley King CB - John Terry LB - Ashley Cole RM - Steven Gerrard CM - James Milner CM - Frank Lampard LM - Joe Cole ST - Peter Crouch ST - Wayne Rooney (Plan B subs - Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Defoe) Then IF we reach Knockout Round i think he will change it to this... GK - David James RB - Glen Johnson CB - Ledley King CB - John Terry LB - Ashley Cole RM - Shaun Wright Phillips CM - Gareth Barry CM - Frank Lampard LM - Steven Gerrard ST - Emile Heskey ST - Wayne Rooney (plan b option Jermaine Defoe, Aaron Lennon, Peter Crouch)
Uncle Albert Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 James Johnson King Terry A ColeLennon Gerrard Lampard J ColeCrouch Rooney Play that for the group stages then when we go through, bring Crouch out and put Barry in and play either Gerrard or Lampard off Rooney to make it more solid.
sg6 Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Maybe it could be: James Johnson King Terry A.Cole Milner Lampard Gerrard Wright-Phillips J.Cole Rooney (4-1-2-3)
AyewJoking Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 I can read Capello like a book. This is the starting XI to spank the Yanks. James Johnson Terry King Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard Cole Rooney Crouch
marbelladave Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 I can read Capello like a book. This is the starting XI to spank the Yanks. James Johnson Terry King Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard Cole Rooney Crouch All fairly obvious except that I think Heskey will start for Crouch. The reason? In the last 10 games that Rooney and Heskey have started Rooney has scored 9 times, in the last 10 games Rooney has started without Heskey he has found the net just twice. However, Capello is fond of a bit of miss-direction and could have something very different up his sleeve. Still we will know fairly soon...

Joe. Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Saturday's team picks itself surely. James Johnson --- Terry --- King --- A.Cole Lennon --- Lampard --- Gerrard --- J.Cole Rooney --- Crouch Anything other than that and I'll be massively surprised. In the latter stages I think he might push Gerrard forward just behind Rooney and bring Barry into the middle however.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 James Johnson Terry King Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard Cole Heskey Rooney
Uncle Albert Posted 10 June 2010 Posted 10 June 2010 Maybe it could be: James Johnson King Terry A.Cole Milner Lampard Gerrard Wright-Phillips J.Cole Rooney (4-1-2-3) Milner holding? Jesus some people really should think things through before posting on here at times, bad enough you have Wright-Phillips down and its not a simple 4-4-2, which Capello will play against the USA. I can read Capello like a book. This is the starting XI to spank the Yanks. James Johnson Terry King Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard Cole Rooney Crouch Well done to you for stating the obvious, I think we can all read Capello like a book seeing as the majority has put the same team down as you.

Err.......as yet he has not named his team, so for the moment.... A point that no one has mentioned is that James appears to be struggling with a knee problem and might not be available for the first game. Interesting decision for Capello if that is the case.

Jesus some people really should think things through before posting on here at times, bad enough you have Wright-Phillips down and its not a simple 4-4-2, which Capello will play against the USA. Well, during the Japan game and I know it was only a friendly, but Capello changed from the 4-4-2 for the second half and it seemed to work, and i just thought that Gerrard and Lampard seem to play better with another central player in there (usually Barry but he is not going to be fit for saturday) and Milner has played at left back before so don't say he can't play a holding role, he is mr. versatile after all. Regarding SWP, I thought that he made a real difference in the second half when he came on against Japan and from recent performances for England I believe he has played better than Lennon. So I did think things through before posting, who knows what Capello will pick? I just thought I would post a team in which I think he could/might play!
James. Posted 11 June 2010 Posted 11 June 2010 Be very surprised if it's anything other than: James Johnson Terry King Cole Lennon Lampard Gerrard Cole Heskey Rooney
