SA v Mexico - Vuvuzelas and Bafana Bafana

Call me a cycnical old so and so ("you cynical old so and so") but I'm sick of hearing the Vuvuzelas already and the tournament hasn't even kicked off yet.. I hope all the England fans out there have taken their rattles and will be heard above the din.

I'm also getting pretty sick of the media creaming itself about South Africa hosting the tournament. I know it's "a first" and that it's politically correct to worship the ground that Mandela and the ANC walk on, but the USA didn't get the same sort of media love in when they hosted it for the first time. So I'd just love it for Mexico to stuff them this afternoon. I shall be wearing my Mexico 1970 shirt and keeping my fingers crossed.

Apart from that, c'mon England!

Can someone ban those bloody annoying trumpets with immediate effect?

What do the South Africans see in them - they add absolutely zilch to the atmosphere.

You can't even hear the crowd sing.

irritating as fook , had to turn the sound off

wouldn't be suprised if the local hospitals have to surgically remove some of those from various orifices

It sounds like the Stadium is full of angry Wasps or Bees :crylaugh:

I've joined the bandwagon regarding the vuvuzelas but, to be honest, the South Africa vs. Mexico game is the first I've heard them and they're not that annoying at all lol

And that goal should've counted. Regular by all means.

No it wasn't, unless you're counting the goalkeeper and the striker as level, which they barely were apart from a toe-end. The linesman made the right decision.

The interpritation made by the commetry team was that if the keeper had stayed on his line then they would have had problems

To be fair, that was a fantastic call by the linesman. How many non-referees would've seen and called that?! I was skeptical about the referees given their nationality, but they've handled the game very well so far

The horns are irrittating as fook. They kill the atmosphere. South Africa are shit and Mexico not much better......barn door from five yards and all that. The minute England get knocked out, I'm finished with this tournament if that noise continues. Roll on 2014 when the sound of the samba will reign accompanied by the shimmering of latin asses girating in the breeze :P . Truly, a football atmosphere to inspire.
